Bug#289486: RFP: eppitance -- an integrated file sharing solution for the GNOME Desktop

2005-01-09 Thread Lennart Poettering
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: eppitance
  Version : 0.3.0
  Upstream Author : "Elysium Project"
* URL : http://elysium-project.sourceforge.net/epittance/
* License : GPL
  Description : an integrated file sharing solution for the GNOME Desktop

>From the homepage:

EPittance is an integrated file sharing solution for the GNOME Desktop.
It uses WebDAV and Rendezvous, via Howl, to allow users to share files
in a local network, with almost zero configuration. Assuming a working
installation of Howl, and GNOME 2.8, you need only install
gnome-icon-theme 2.9.0, and epittance, and restart nautilus. Then you
just go to the properties of a folder, and enable sharing in the
"Sharing" tab. At that point, the files are shared over WebDAV on
Rendezvous, and are visible using the service discovery support in GNOME
2.8 or Mac OS X, or any other system that supports service discovery
using Rendezvous.

Also, please see #288210 instead, Jereme Corrado <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

Bug#289537: O: systrace

2005-01-09 Thread Thorsten Sauter
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

I decided to orphan the systrace packages (systrace, xsystrace,

I don't use anymore, and I have not enough time to give it any attention.

If nobody picks the packages I request the removal from the archive.

 Systrace enforces system call policies for applications by
 constraining the application's access to the system. The

Description: A branch of Semi-gnus (Gnus for SEMI) variants.
 Semi-gnus is a replacement of Gnus with gnus-mime for SEMI. It has
 all features of Gnus and gnus-mime, so there are no need to install
 Gnus to use it, and you must not use gnus-mime for SEMI.
 It requires SEMI package, so please get and install SEMI package
 before to install it.
 .
 Use T-gnus in offline(Unplugged) status using gnus-offline.
 T-gnus have also features that have Semi-gnus MainTrunk.
 Enable to get Multiple Pop server in POP and APOP using

 By Tatsuya Ichikawa <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>.
 .
 T-gnus is one of Semi-gnus variants.
 Now, "Semi-gnus" is generic name of Gnus for SEMI.

  Description : A C++ IOStream interface to POSIX Process I/O

>From the PStreams home page:

   PStreams allows you to run another program from your C++ application
   and to transfer data between the two programs similar to shell
   pipelines.

   In the simplest case, a PStreams class is like a C++ wrapper for the
   POSIX.2 functions popen(3) and pclose(3), using C++ IOStreams instead
   of C's stdio library.

  Description : save additional statistical counters for atop in the record

 This patch takes care that the additional statistical counters are
 added to the process-accounting record (yes, this means an
 incompatible layout of this record). When this patch is installed,
 ATOP automatically shows the additional counters for terminated
 processes as well. Since the pid of processes is also stored in the
 modified process-accounting record, matching this info with the
 formerly running process is less time-consuming compared to the
 conventional process-accounting record.

  Description : audio library manager and player for GTK+

 Quod Libet is a music player based around searching your audio library
 based on the values of the tags in it. It supports MP3, Ogg Vorbis, FLAC,
 and tracked (MOD/XM/IT) audio formats. Features include:
  - A simple user interface.
  - Searching based on regular expression matching.
  - Tag editing, including cross-format changes and mass editing.
  - Many supported tags, like "conductor", "performer", and "discnumber".
  - Shuffle, repeat, multimedia keys, Unicode, a tray icon, album cover
display, and other features found in most modern media players.
 .
 Quod Libet is written in Python and uses PyGTK+.

I've been maintaining packages for this outside of the Debian archive
since its inception; the next release (coming sometime within the next
week, I hope) is the first I feel comfortable putting in the archive.

The package will be split up into an arch: all and an arch: any
prior to the upload, since the arch-dep part is only about 50k.

  Description : additional statistical counters for atop

 This patch takes care that statistical counters are added to the
 process-administration (task_struct) and that these counters are
 incremented per process. The additional counters are shown via the
 file /proc/pid/stat as a second line of counters. When this patch is
 installed, atop automatically shows another layout for the generic
 screen (including disk- and network-transfers for active processes).
 However for terminated process these additional counters are not
 shown, because the conventional layout of the process-accounting
 record has not been adapted.

Bug#289617: RFA: e2tools -- utilities for manipulating files in an ext2/ext3 filesystem

2005-01-09 Thread Robert Millan
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

I request an adopter for the e2tools package.

This package is needed by the grub package to produce rescue floppy images.

The package description is:
 E2tools is a simple set of utilities to read, write, and manipulate
 files in an ext2/ext3 filesystem.
 .
 The purpose of these utilities is manipulating ext2/ext3 filesystems
 from userspace without the need for mounting them, so that they can be
 used directly by normal users.
 .
 Included utilities are e2cp, e2mv, e2rm, e2mkdir, e2ln, e2ls and e2tail.

Bug#289619: RFA: drip

2005-01-09 Thread Robert Millan
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

I request an adopter for the drip package.

Description: GNOME application for encoding a DivX from a DVD
 Drip is a DVD to DivX conversion application. It's made up out two
 applications: a DVD reader and a DivX encoder. The reader is a GUI for the
 GNOME environment, the DivX encoder a text mode tool. You won't have to learn
 to use the textmode tool, because the GUI is also a frontend for it.

Re: Bug#287138: ITP: httplog -- Apache logfile program w/strftime(3) support

2005-01-09 Thread Eli
Dear Debian maintainers,

Please note that there are 2 errors with the submission of httplog:

* incorrect contact information
* incorrect licencing title

My correct contact information is contained within the httplog package. It
should be [EMAIL PROTECTED]

The current version of httplog is licenced under a proprietary licence - it
is not licenced under the GPL. A change in earlier releases was made and
the GPL licence was retracted. The change was made (from what I can
see/remember) as of version 2.0 of httplog. Individuals who submitted
errors/bug fixes were not subject to notification of such change as no code
was used from these individuals. Authors of substantial contribution were
all consulted regarding the licence change and all agreed to the change
made.

Just figured I'd let you know, as I am unsure of how the licencing reflects
your rules for including software in to your distribution.

Eli Sand.
