Bug#296117: RFP: libjaxme-java -- open source implementation of JAXB, the specification for Java/XML binding

2005-02-20 Thread Eric Lavarde
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: libjaxme-java
  Version : 0.3.1
  Upstream Author : Apache team!?
* URL : http://ws.apache.org/jaxme/
* License : Apache Software License, Version 2.0
  Description : open source implementation of JAXB, the specification for
Java/XML binding

From the home page:
..
 A Java/XML binding compiler takes as input a schema description (in most
 cases an XML schema but it may be a DTD, a RelaxNG schema, a Java class
 inspected via reflection or a database schema). The output is a set of
 Java classes:
..
* A Java bean class compatible with the schema description. (If the
* schema was obtained via Java reflection, then the original Java
* bean class.)
* An unmarshaller that converts a conforming XML document into the
* equivalent Java bean.
* Vice versa, a marshaller that converts the Java bean back into the
* original XML document.
..
 In the case of JaxMe, the generated classes may also
..
* Store the Java bean into a database. Preferrably an XML database
* like eXist, Xindice, or Tamino, but it may also be a relational
* database like MySQL. (If the schema is sufficiently simple. :-)
* Query the database for bean instances.
* Implement an EJB entity or session bean with the same abilities.

(to be very honest with you, it's a bit chinese to me, I only know that
I need the library to be able to package freemind 0.8.0)

Bug#262977: Bug#295903: Please add suffix to php4-dev tools pathnames.

On Sun, 20 Feb 2005, Adam Conrad wrote:
 Also, while we're being polite, please discuss with people whose ITP
 you're hijacking before uploading packages to queue/new. kthxbye.

For 3 months there was no any reply for my mail about PHP5 packages. Many
people installs packages from dotdeb.org site only because official Debian
developers can't do anything. I've got many mails and people want to see
the official packages just now, not for a next few months or other unknown
future.

It was not hijacking. This ITP seems to be abadoned. There was no sign of
any development. My development was opened and the results are clear.

I'd like to discuss this issue and see other opinion on debian-devel list
if you haven't any objection.

Thanks.

2005-02-20 Thread Lucas Wall
I've been talking to Nico and Goswin and we would like to get started.
We don't want to steal more of your time.

If its ok with you we would like to create a project in Alioth and
coordinates our efforts there. What we would need is a dump of the
current repository to be able to preserve the history of changes.

We should also rename the O bug. In fact I will do this now, since it
doesn't hurt.

I'll wait for your confirmation before proceeding with the Alioth
project thou.

Bug#229960: still intend to adopt aeromail

2005-02-20 Thread Gaudenz Steinlin
Hi Stefan

I'm currently checking all packages owned by the Debian QA Group to
decide whether they should be removed from Debian or not.

In November 2004 you stated your intend to adopt this package. Are you
still working on it?

If you no longer intend to work on aeromail I will investigate some more
and probably file a removal request.

Please CC me on replies to the bug report.
