Bug#300996: ITP: clamassassin -- simple wrapper for clamav
On Wed, 23 Mar 2005, Nick Price wrote: Description : clamassassin is a simple virus filter wrapper for clamav for use in procmail filters and similar applications. clamassassin is a simple virus filter wrapper for clamav for use inprocmail filters and similar applications. Its interface is similar to that of spamassassin, making it easy to implement for those familiar with that tool. clamassassin is designed with an emphasis on security, robustness, and simplicity. I was going to package this but the source tarball does not include configure.ac. Please ask the author to include it, so that the source is really complete. I doubt if this is necessary seeing as clamassassin is just a shell script. configure works as it should, and make, and make install both work as they should. Is there something I'm missing? The configure script is not to be modified directly. The preferred method to make modifications is by changing configure.ac and then running autoconf. If there is no configure.ac, the source is incomplete. Anyway, I wish you don't use the configure script directly, as it a) produces a clamassassin script with lots of hardcoded paths here and there, which is evil (there is a reason why we have the PATH variable). and b) would make the package to build-depend on clamav and procmail. Those build-dependencies would be gratuitous. Mail::MboxParser has not been derived from Mail::Box and thus isn't acquainted with it in any way. It, however, incorporates some invaluable hints by the author of Mail::Box, Mark Overmeer. This ITP is in preparation for another ITP, for the 'bugger' BTS navigation program written in Perl with libgtk2-perl. Stay tuned for that... Initial packages are already available at http://people.debian.org/~joshk/libmail-mboxparser-perl This is my first Perl module, so I'm definitely looking for feedback. -Josh -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (499, 'testing'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.9 Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) (ignored: LC_ALL set to en_US.UTF-8) --- Received: (at 290991-close) by bugs.debian.org; 23 Mar 2005 20:54:01 + From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Wed Mar 23 12:54:01 2005 Return-path: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Received: from newraff.debian.org [208.185.25.31] (mail) by spohr.debian.org with esmtp (Exim 3.35 1 (Debian)) id 1DECrY-0006Gk-00; Wed, 23 Mar 2005 12:54:00 -0800 Received: from joerg by newraff.debian.org with local (Exim 3.35 1 (Debian)) id 1DECqC-000415-00; Wed, 23 Mar 2005 15:52:36 -0500 From: Joshua Kwan [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-Katie: lisa $Revision: 1.30 $ Subject: Bug#290991: fixed in libmail-mboxparser-perl 0.51-1 Message-Id: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sender: Joerg Jaspert [EMAIL PROTECTED] Date: Wed, 23 Mar 2005 15:52:36 -0500 Delivered-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-Spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 2.60-bugs.debian.org_2005_01_02 (1.212-2003-09-23-exp) on spohr.debian.org X-Spam-Status: No, hits=-6.0 required=4.0 tests=BAYES_00,HAS_BUG_NUMBER autolearn=no version=2.60-bugs.debian.org_2005_01_02 X-Spam-Level: Source: libmail-mboxparser-perl Source-Version: 0.51-1 We believe that the bug you reported is fixed in the latest version of libmail-mboxparser-perl, which is due to be installed in the Debian
