  Description : Dock any program into the system tray

With AllTray you can dock any application with no native tray icon
(like Evolution, Thunderbird, Terminals) into the system tray.
A high-light feature is that a click on the "close" button will
minimize back to system tray.
It works well with Gnome, KDE, XFCE 4, Fluxbox and WindowMaker.

Oh!, I have just "rmmod pwc" and run gnomememeting again, "modprobe pwc" and
configure gnomemmeeting
1.2.1 ( v4l ) and it works. It seems that if it has an error you have to
remove the module and
 reload pwc in order to make it work.

here is the syslog output:

Bug#289307: [pwc] PVC740K with gnomemeeting on ubuntu 5.04: gm crashs

2005-04-17 Thread Victor Seva
I suggest you to use 10.0.6a package, I know its works with gnomemeeting.

I have the same model of webcam and it doesn't work with 10.0.7 on
gnomemeeting, v4l2 neither v4l.

This is the messages and dmesg output:

  Description : KDE application to create, maintain and share photo albums

Album Shaper is a graphical application used to create, maintain, and share
photo albums using open formats like HTML, XSLT, and JPG.
Two-layer albums can be created in a drag-n-drop interface which allows
quick and easy arrangement and catagorization of photos.
A few simple image manipulations such as rotation and flipping are provided
to help you get your photos presentable as quick as possible.
Photos, collections, and albums themselves can be labeled as needed and
modified at a later time by saving and loading from a simple XML format.
Albums are exported as HTML which can then be posted directly on the web
or viewed straight from your hard drive. Album Shaper now supports themes
which means you can completely customize the look of the Albums you produce!
Album Shaper is designed to help you share your photos with your friends
and family as easily as possible, as well as update and maintain these
Albums in the most effecient and easy way possible.

Bug#305050: RFP: ftwall2 -- P2P network firewall (Kazaa, Winmx, opennap etc.)

Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: ftwall2
  Version : x.y.z

MORE INFO

Linux journal article 2003-08-31: Securing Your Network against Kazaa
http://www.linuxjournal.com/article.php?sid=6945

DESCRIPTION

The P2Pwall project aims to provide iptables add-ins for the control
of Peer to peer file sharing traffic from applications such as Kazaa,
iMesh and others.

Ftwall-2 is an updated version of the original ftwall-1 software which
adds new P2p protocols to the set it can control.

Ftwall-2 is an add-on for linux firewalls that allows the control of
"Fast Track" peer-to-peer traffic (such as is used by "Kazaa" and it's
derivatives), WinMX and others using the OpenNAP protocol.

It is designed to block network traffic from P2P client applications
running in the "home" (or "green") network from making access to any
peers on the public internet. It is designed primarily for use in
networks where the security reigme allows "open access" for outbound
connections and "tightly limited" access for inbound ones. Ftwall-2
can be used in networks like this to prevent outbound P2P access from
the supported protocols, hence restricting illegal file downloads and
uploads.

A Fast track "home network" client that establishes an "outbound"
connection is (worryingly) immediately available to accept inbound
connections through the established TCP/IP socket - even if the
gateway firewall blocks all in-bound connections via "normal" TCP/IP
and UDP mechanisms. This is a kind of limited "tunnelling" and gives
rise to a number of concerns. Other P2P applications and protocols
present similar security challenges. Ftwall solves this (and other)
problems for the protocols it understands.

- "Ftwall" is short for "Fast Track traffic Firewall".
- "Fast track" is the networking protocol used by Kazaa, KazaaLite,
  iMesh and Grokster.
- "Ftwall" is part of the "p2pwall" project, which aims to provide
  similar mechanisms for other peer-to-peer file sharing protocols in
  future.
- "P2pwall" is short for "Peer-to-peer traffic firewall".
- Ftwall version 2 is also capable of blocking WinMX and OpenNAP - and
  in this, it's name is a historical misnoma.

According to Michel, the problem occurs with the 2.6.11 kernel only.

Bug#305081: RFP: fwknop -- Firewall Knock Operator - advanced port knock daemon

2005-04-17 Thread Jari Aalto
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: fwknop
  Version : 0.5.0
  Upstream Author : Michael Rash <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
* URL : http://www.cipherdyne.org/fwknop/
* License : GPL
  Description : Firewall Knock Operator - advanced port knock daemon

(Include the long description here.)

fwknop stands for "Firewall Knock Operator" and is a piece of software
that I released at the DEFCON 12 conference in July, 2004 in Las
Vegas: presentation slides

fwknop implements network access controls (via iptables) based on a
flexible port knocking mini-language, but with a twist; it combines
port knocking and passive operating system fingerprinting to make it
possible to do things like only allow, say, Linux-2.4/2.6 systems to
connect to your SSH daemon.

fwknop supports shared, multi-protocol port knock sequences along with
both relative and absolute timeouts, and coded port knock sequences
encrypted with the Rijndael block cipher.

aMule - "The all-platform edonkey2000 network client". It was forked
from xMule project back in september 2003 (not related to it anymore,
except little bits of old code), to drive it to a brand new direction
and quality. Uses wxWidgets (formely known as wxWindows) for
multiplatform support.

- aMule has almost all features of the eMule
- Leecher ban: Some people use unsocial clients, these clients are banned by
aMule.
- You can create categories to organize your downloads.
- Upload/Download slot allocation throttle
- CLI to connect to a running aMule.

it might be nice to say in the description a little more about what

  Description : Kerberos kinit variant supporting ticket refreshing

k5start (for Kerberos v5) and kstart (for Kerberos v4) can be used
instead of kinit to obtain Kerberos tickets. Both programs are included
in this package. They are intended primarily for use with automated
processes and support some additional features useful for that purpose,
such as running as a daemon and refreshing the ticket periodically,
checking to see if an existing ticket has expired, or obtaining an AFS
token along with the ticket by running an external program automatically.

I didn't write this software, but I'm the current upstream maintainer as
well. We use this package extensively at Stanford for any sort of daemon
or server that needs a permanent Kerberos ticket cache and doesn't know
how to, or doesn't reliably, maintain its own. We've gotten a fair number
of requests for it from other Kerberos and AFS sites.

  Description : ident protocol varient with strong SASL authentication

S/Ident is a modified version of the standard ident protocol that adds
SASL-based authentication. Currently, only Kerberos v4 and Kerberos v5
GSS-API authentication are supported. The package provides both a
responder daemon that runs on client systems like a regular ident daemon
but finds the user's ticket cache and replies with a SASL authentication
and a library that can be used to do an S/Ident callback using an
appropriate srvtab or keytab.

This package provides both a client daemon and a server library with
Perl bindings, so the plan is to generate four binary packages:

  sidentd Client responder daemon (run from inetd)
  libsident0Shared library for server queries
  libsident0-devDevelopment files for the server query library
  libnet-sident-perlPerl bindings for the shared library

libsident0 is a prerequisite for the webauth package (ITP #304728) to
support S/Ident callbacks, an optional feature of the package that's
configurable at runtime. This package has been in widespread use at
Stanford since 1996 and is generally usable by any Kerberos site, although
I expect it would mostly be used in combination with WebAuth. I'm also
the current upstream maintainer, although not the original author.

Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Russ Allbery <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

* Package name: remctl
  Version : 1.7
  Upstream Author : Russ Allbery <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
* URL : http://www.eyrie.org/~eagle/software/remctl/
* License : MIT/X
  Description : remote Kerberos-authenticated command execution

remctl consists of a client and server for executing specific commands on
a remote system with Kerberos authentication. The allowable commands must
be listed in a server configuration file, and the executable run on the
server may be mapped to any command name. Each command is also associated
with an ACL containing a list of Kerberos principals authorized to run
that command.

Included in this package is both the client (remctl) and the server
(remctld). The server will not be started automatically.

I didn't write this package, but I'm also the upstream maintainer (as part
of my day job at Stanford). There are a lot of variations on this basic
idea out there, from the original IBM sysctl (which we used prior to remctl
at Stanford), to comprehensive management packages like Moira or ADM, to
DESY and CERN's ARC, but remctl aims at being something close to a minimal
implementation of the concept. It makes no assumptions about the rest of
your infrastructure, requires no particular scripting language, and is a
self-contained C implementation. We've been using it extensively at
Stanford for some years now, all over our infrastructure, primarily for
privilege delegation (put privileged keys on one system, write scripts that
perform privileged operations with those keys, audit for security as with
CGI scripts, and provide a remctl interface to run the scripts).

Bug#305112: ITP: gcolor2 -- Simple GTK2 color selector and picker

2005-04-17 Thread Carlos C Soto
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Carlos C Soto <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

* Package name: gcolor2
  Version : 0.3
  Upstream Author : Justin Spadea <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
* URL : http://gcolor2.sourceforge.net/
* License : GPL
  Description : Simple GTK2 color selector and picker

Gcolor2 is a simple GTK2 color selector to provide a quick and easy
way to find colors for whatever task is at hand.
Colors can be saved and deleted as well.

This is a very useful tool for every one who work with colours and
design. There are others ways to do it but this is an application
specially developed for it.

What's happened to the website for the project? It's still down.
That's a shame because I'm looking for something that does ical,
preferbly two-way too.
