I orphan this package. Since I'm no longer a Debian developer, I'd appreciate

Bug#295760: Uploading ming to Debian

2005-06-20 Thread Free Ekanayaka
Hi Klaus,

I've noticed that you published some unofficial debian packages of
ming. Ming is needed to package ktoon, see:

http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=295760

Are you interested in maintaining the ming package? I'm not yet a
Debian Developer, but I can find somebody to sponsor the upload of
your packages to the official Debian repository.

Another question: is the source package (.dsc, .diff.gz, .orig.tar.gz)
of your binary packages available somewhere? I couldn't find them on

http://klaus.geekserver.net/debian/

Thanks,

Bug#218699: findimagedups not maintained, other similar upsrtreams mentioned

http://kudla.org/raindog/perl/ says:
[2002/02/06 23:55] PixiePlus now supports similar image finding using an
algorithm based on mine, and for those unable to run a current version of KDE,
gqview will also find your similar images, albeit using a different algorithm
whose results I haven't compared with my own. Both are FAR faster than

like to continue its development for web or other non-GUI purposes (this means
you, Debian maintainers ;) ), by all means feel free, but consider my itch

Description : Execute commands in a chroot environment

schroot allows users to execute commands or interactive shells
in different chroots. Any number of named chroots may be
created, and access permissions given to each, including root
access for normal users, on a per-group basis. Additionally,
schroot can switch to a different user in the chroot, using PAM
for authentication and authorisation. All operations are logged
 for security.

schroot shares most of its options with dchroot, but offers
 vastly more functionality.

The above URL is temporary. It should shortly be moved from a local

in the future to allow a true-chroot mode for apt-get/dpkg.

Hi René!

* René van Bevern [EMAIL PROTECTED] [050601 11:23]:

Well... since the downloadable zip ist with 161MB
quite large (140MB
game date, 4MB sources, some binaries), this might
become an inofficla
package at my private repository, seems to be a
bit too big for the
  archive ;)
How about providing an official package without the
game data but with a
tool that downloads and installs the game data? On
package
uninstallation, it could remove the downloaded game
data.

I think I will do that, since there is a funny problem
with the
gamedata: You need a windows only tool (qcc2.exe), to
compile the game
data into a for the game usable form.

It's a pity, although the entire game is released
under the GPL, it will
need to go into contrib :(

Yours sincerely,

small size and simplicity are design goals. Overall, I think it would meet
d-i's needs very nicely, and allow us to retire dhcp v2.

  12K /usr/lib/klibc/bin/ipconfig
  20K /usr/lib/klibc/lib/klibc-LIjBcAfSWEXmu4nLVDT8vlvEVo0.so

  Compare with:

  112K dhcp/sbin/dhclient
  416K dhcp3/sbin/dhclient

It basically configures the interface, and writes out any other data
communicated by the DHCP server to a sh-syntax file (which can be read or
  ignored).

Well it looks like it's being packaged (#312563).

Jeff Bailey has already packaged it; CCing him and the ITP submitter so that
they can coordinate getting the packages into Debian.

Bug#261560: iaxclient and iaxcomm

2005-06-20 Thread Tzafrir Cohen
Hi

Yet another ping on iaxclient.

I've been using iaxcomm from the iaxclient package of mentos for a
while. Seems good enough. It seems that this package is being
manitained.

Is it coming to Debian any time soon?

I intend to orphan the libarchive-zip-perl package.

The package description is:
The Archive::Zip module allows a Perl program to create, manipulate,
read, and write Zip archive files.
 .
Zip archives can be created, or you can read from existing zip files.
Once created, they can be written to files, streams, or strings.
 .
Members can be added, removed, extracted, replaced, rearranged, and
enumerated. They can also be renamed or have their dates, comments,
or other attributes queried or modified. Their data can be
compressed or uncompressed as needed. Members can be created from
members in existing Zip files, or from existing directories, files,
 or strings.

Bug#295760: Uploading ming to Debian

2005-06-20 Thread Free Ekanayaka
|--== Klaus Rechert writes:

  KR Hi Free,
KR Am Montag, den 20.06.2005, 10:19 +0200 schrieb Free Ekanayaka:

KR Yes i'm interested, but i was very busy.

I can help here.

Another question: is the source package (.dsc, .diff.gz, .orig.tar.gz)
of your binary packages available somewhere?
KR not yet. basically i recycled Erich Schuberts official debs.

Oh, I didn't notice that the package was in Woody. Erich why was it
removed in Sarge?

KR I can upload the sources sometime this week.

That would be great. Please consider using mentors.debian.net for
this, subscribing is very straight and I got my account up and running
in a few hours. Very useful to share source packages and prepare
uploads.

Cheers,

Free
