Is there a first official alpha release available? Please understand,

Is there svn repository and or mailinglist for this package ?

 Hi.

Continuing the thread on [1], and worried about other programs that
depend on ming and haven't been able to enter the Debian
distribution[2], I send this small license patch for the last cvs
 revision of the php_ext.

I have a need for supported Debian packages for Ming, so I'm willing to
 work w/ Mattias on these.

I was about to ask about resyncing the php_ext directory w/ a more
recent copy of the files from the php package (and I have actually done
that in the packages I have built). I am in favor of dropping the -dev
and -streams variants unless someone makes a case for why they are still
 needed.

Does the PHP license permit us to relicense the code in the manner
suggested by the patch? It seems like a violation of term 1 to remove
the PHP Copyright notice like this.

On the practicle side, PHP shouldn't be an issue for Debian packages as
the regular PHP package can provide this, once ming has gone back into
the pool. This also has the advantages of letting php_ming follow the
PHP package versions, instead of the libming versions.

Would anyone object to adding a debian directory at the top of the tree
to facilitate building packages? We could also add a spec file if
 someone would provide it.

The most important thing right now is probably to get the actual ming
library accepted to the archive. I suggest we just leave the parts out
that have licensing issues (currently java_ext and php_ext). They can
easily be brought back at a later stage when things have been sorted
out, the php wrapper perhaps living under php itself as Stuart mentioned.

If there are no objections to this I'll reupload libming within a few
days, hopefully being accepted by the ftpmasters.

Try asking on debian-legal mailing list. If the answer is negative, you
can still package it and upload to www.debian-unofficial.org like mplayer,

  Description : sudoku puzzle generator/solver

KSudoku is an interface for creating and solving sudoku puzzles, which
are grid-based placement puzzles that require time and logic to solve.
KSudoku is able to work with both 2D and 3D versions of these puzzles,
in grids of any square layout up to 25x25. It can also generate
configurable symmetric puzzles and other special types.

Bug#340555: RFP: xymtex -- xymtex chemical notation for latex; xymtex is a macro package for drawing chemical structural formulas.

Description : xymtex chemical notation for latex; xymtex is a macro
package for drawing chemical structural formulas.

I'd like to have some package to help typeset molecules. XyMTeX is
what wikipedia uses, so if it's good enough for them then it's good
enough for me. There seems to be an alternative called PPCHTeX, if
that's easier to deal with.

Packaging xymtex might not be too easy. You may have to contact
upstream (note that I don't have an email address either) and try to
convince him to include an explicit license of some sort.

Well, yeah, there is an unsolved problem with incompatible licenses...
The gory details are available at http://bugs.debian.org/264816.
Unless you have some idea how to go about solving it, you should
probably start with a simpler package.

okey. thanks you. Could you rename the bug again
 ?

Sure thing.

Thanks,

Matej
