Bug#330125: status of toolchain-source?

2006-01-11 Thread Daniel Widenfalk

Hi all,

Martin Michlmayr wrote:

* Daniel Widenfalk <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> [2005-12-29 11:43]:

Once I get toolchain-source to build a toolchain for the supported
(linux) targets I'll get back to you for help with further testing
(I can only test build on a sparc64 machine) and upload.

Any progress with this?

I've managed to build most of the -linux targets but some are still
causing me problems.

I can build and install from scratch:

 * alpha-linux
 * arm-linux
 * m68k-linux
 * mips-linux
 * hppa-linux
 * powerpc-linux
 * i386-linux

I have (I think, building as I write) solved the build
dependency problem for ia64-linux.

I have dependency problems for s390-linux and sparc-linux.
amd64-linux is currently not recognized by the tpkg-* tools
but that should not be too big a problem.

The s390-linux cross-gcc has a circular dependency on
lib64gcc1-s390-cross and libc6-dev-s390x-s390, which can
be forced by "debuild -d" on gcc, but the build process breaks
down with a long list of errors that I have not yet looked
into.

The sparc-linux cross-gcc depends on a number of X11 libraries
which IMHO shouldn't be needed. (We are, after all, building a
command line tool here!) I'll try to remove them from the
dependency lists to see if it builds ok without those libraries.

I'll have some sort of usable package at the end of the week
if everything goes as planned. My biggest problem right now
is that my Ultra5 is not the fastest machine in the world and
building a gcc takes about 2 hours. That gives me at most two
development/test cycles per day :-(

If you are in dire need of cross compilers for the
architectures that are building, let me know and I can arrange
to upload a snapshot of the toolchain-source packages to an
ftp-server somewhere.

Best regards
/Daniel Widenfalk

If you haven't done so yet can you please add a udeb so we can use

Bug#347599: RFA: drscheme

2006-01-11 Thread Ari Pollak
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

The current PLT Scheme (drscheme) maintainers would like to put this
package up for adoption. I don't have enough knowledge about Scheme, or
especially PLT Scheme, to continue maintaining this in its current
state. There is some cleanup that needs to be done with the package,
outstanding bugs need to be fixed, it needs upgrading to version 300.

I'd be happy to sponsor a non-Debian Developer who wishes to maintain this,
or to co-maintain this package with someone who can help me with some
of the outstanding issues. An ideal candidate would be able to work closely
with upstream development.

Bug#347352: ITP: gnash -- free Flash movie player

2006-01-11 Thread Miriam Ruiz
Of course!!! I would be glad to accept your help, co-maintaining the package
would be OK for me :)

I've been successful in
compiling most of the modules, but I haven't been able to build the plugin
(even though I think it's not functional yet).

I've had to patch a bit some makefiles so that some of the modules can
compile, and I use the following configure string:

CFLAGS="-Wall -g -O2 -Wl,-z,defs" ./configure --host=$(DEB_HOST_GNU_TYPE)
--build=$(DEB_BUILD_GNU_TYPE) --prefix=/usr --mandir=\$${prefix}/share/man
--infodir=\$${prefix}/share/info --with-libxml-includes=/usr/include/libxml2/
--with-firefox-includes=/usr/include/mozilla/ --enable-pthreads --enable-dom
--enable-xmlreader --enable-http --enable-plugin --enable-dmalloc
--enable-dependency-tracking

Everything seems to compile properly until the plugin is supposed to be built
(plugin/mozilla-sdk). All the compilation goes all right, but when it comes to
linking I get an error.

I've sent an email upstream asking for support, if you want I can forward it
to you. Have you been successful in compiling the program under SID?

Greetings,
Miry

Bug#347558: RFP: apparmor -- an application security framework for high security and easy usabilty

2006-01-11 Thread Sven Mueller
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: apparmor
  Version : 2.0
  Upstream Author : Novell/SuSE Linux

  Description : an application security framework for high security and
easy usabilty

AppArmor is an application security tool designed to provide a highly
secure yet easy to use security framework for your applications.
AppArmor proactively protects the operating system and applications from
external or internal threats, even zero-day attacks, by enforcing good
behavior and preventing even unknown application flaws from being
exploited. AppArmor security policies, called "profiles", completely
define what system resources individual applications can access, and
with what privileges. A number of default profiles are included with
AppArmor, and using a combination of advanced static analysis and
learning-based tools, AppArmor profiles for even very complex
applications can be deployed successfully in a matter of hours.

IMVHO this package is in a pretty good shape, and I don't see any
particular tasks that really need to be done. However, for some reason
I'm not that fond of it and / or don't use it regularily anymore, so
as part of some restructuring on my side I'm willing to let this
package go and find a loving new maintainer for it.
NB: This package is quite easy to maintain and thus might be just the
right choice for any aspiring new maintainer trying to get his hands
wet.

If you have a sponsor (or don't need one) please just take over.
Otherwise I might be interested in sponsoring a new maintainer,
provided the changes a) show _no_ regressions and b) provide
substantial improvements (no, just putting your name on it and
changing to your packaging style of choice is _not_ substantial in my
eyes). Either way please follow the standard procedure as outlined on
 for taking over.
Until a new maintainer has been found I will continue to take care
just as before, of course...

Bug#347529: O: wmtop -- Dockapp that displays 3 top memory or CPU using processes

2006-01-11 Thread Hugo van der Merwe
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

I intend to orphan the wmtop package.

The package description is:
 wmtop maintains a view of the 3 top CPU (or memory) consuming
 processes displaying the amount of CPU used as a horizontal bar.
 Very useful for spotting those rogue Netscape processes!

The correct URL now is: http://intr.overt.org/gphotofs/

It has also been imported in gphoto's CVS:
