Bug#344906: ITP: sysprof -- A system-wide linux profiler
Hi, Sysprof is a sampling CPU profiler that uses a Linux kernel module to profile the entire system, not just a single application. Sysprof handles shared libraries and applications do not need to be recompiled. In fact they don't even have to be restarted. PS: I'm not so familiar with kernel modules. I've put a preliminary package on the web [1] in case you have comments. How would the user choose between oprofile and sysprof, how do they differ? regards, junichi -- [EMAIL PROTECTED],netfort.gr.jp} Debian Project -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#348043: ITP: upslug2 -- command line program to upgrade the firmware of LinkSys NSLU2
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Owner: Martin Michlmayr [EMAIL PROTECTED] * Package name: upslug2 Version : 2-11 Upstream Author : John Bowler [EMAIL PROTECTED] * URL : http://sourceforge.net/projects/nslu * License : custom, see below Description : command line program to upgrade the firmware of LinkSys NSLU2 The following description is taken from upstream's README files. The Debian package will have one slightly more suited for the Debian control information. upslug2 is a command line program intended to allow the upgrade of a LinkSys NSLU2 firmware to new or different versions. Unlike upslug and the LinkSys (Sercomm) upgrade utilities upslug2 will synthesise a complete 'image' from a kernel and a root file system, as such it duplicates part of the functionality of 'slugimage'. upslug2 also optimises the upload to avoid transmitted parts of the image which need not be written or are 'blank' (set to the erased flash value of all 1's). upslug2 is functionally similar to upslug, however it is not derived from upslug. Bug#348062: O: boson-base
Package: wnpp Severity: normal The maintainer of the source package `bison-base' agreed that all his packages could be orphaned due to his lack of time. The package is currently very RC buggy, but recently an updated package was uploaded to Ubuntu. Copied from the Boson website and Wikipedia: Boson is an open source OpenGL real-time strategy computer game programmed in C++, with the feeling of Command Conquer or StarCraft. It is designed to run on Unix (Linux) computers, and is built on top of the KDE, Qt and kdegames libraries. I've put a preliminary package on the web [1] in case you have comments. How would the user choose between oprofile and sysprof, how do they differ? Sysprof has a nice gtk interface. Moreover, the interface is quite simple and intuitive: you just have to press the Start then Profile buttons and you see the call tree. That said, oprofile seem to have more advanced options and is available on more archs. Cheers, Samuel. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Bug#347570: Considering an ITA
Hello, I'm having a look at the package because i consider to do an ITA. Please make not any NMU's or ITA's until i tell that i'm not interested in the package. When i'm going to adopt i'll change the following: * Separate the source package in those packages: yudit (dummy package which installs yudit-common, yudit-bin) yudit-bin (the platform dependent binaries) yudit-common (independent stuff) yudit-doc (yudit has a big documentation, would be better in a seperate package) Regards, Mario Iseli -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe.
