Bug#353526: O: wav2cdr -- Converts wav files into CD-ROM audio file format
Package: wnpp Severity: normal I don't need this tool anymore, having all in GUI now, so somebody else should care about it. Description: This program converts wav sound files into a format suitable for CD-ROMs, and can perform some editing functions like cutting or volume change. Debian bug tracking system administrator (administrator, Debian Bugs database) ---BeginMessage--- Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Owner: Henning Makholm [EMAIL PROTECTED] * Package name: xcftools Version : 0.5 Upstream Author : Henning Makholm [EMAIL PROTECTED] * URL : http://henning.makholm.net/software * License : GPLv2 Description : command-line tools for extracting data for XCF files This is a set of fast command-line tools for extracting information from the Gimp's native image file format XCF. The tools are designed to allow efficient use of layered XCF files as sources in a build system that use 'make' and similar tools to manage automatic processing of the graphics. These tools work independently of the Gimp engine and do not require the Gimp to even be installed. xcf2pnm converts XCF file to ppm, pgm or pbm format, flattening layers if necessary. If the image contains transparency, an alpha map can be written to a separate file, or a background color can be specified on the command line. The tool can either flatten the XCF file as given, or extract specific layers named on the command line. xcfinfo lists information about layers in an XCF file. ... Note that I am the upstream author myself. I wrote this tool because I need it myself and there seems to be nothing comparable available on the net. Then I put some extra work into polishing it up for general consumption, because it seemed to be the Right Thing to do - I cannot be the only one who have whished for such a tool to exist. There is a xcftopnm binary in gimp-perl, but it is very slow, starting the Gimp engine to do the work. Convert from imagemagick supposedly also understands XCF files, but not the ones I work with, and it would probably be overkill to try to extend its command-line interface to know about layers. Nonetheless, packaging one's own software does smell slightly of vanity package -- I'd appreciate comments. (IAADD, so I don't desperately _need_ to package this, but Debian is still the most convenient channel for making this widely available). -- Henning MakholmAmanda, I'm a mad scientist! Bug#332666: Progress on Debian Package for FSL
Hi! The last update on my packaging attempt of FSL was some time ago, so I guess I should do another one. On Thu, Jan 12, 2006 at 02:58:19PM +0100, Andreas Tille wrote: On Thu, 12 Jan 2006, Michael Hanke wrote: snip And now for the remaining problems. There is still no official package for 'newmat'. Although there has been a RFS lately: http://lists.debian.org/debian-mentors/2006/01/msg00047.html I also made an unofficial package of 'newmat', because the above packaging attempt did not work with FSL due to some differences in the build configuration. I asked the maintainer for the appropriate changes. If this is done so I can add this package to the build-dependencies of the FSL package. If it is in your (=Debian-Med's) interest I would volunteer to sponsor a newmat package provided that it fits your needs. So if a missing sponsor for newmat would be the final show stopper for FSL just come back to me. I did some testing with the newmat package (made by Philippe Coval). It includes a shared library and works pretty well for me. I had a quick look on the package and made some suggestions, but it would be nice if someone more experienced with shared-library packaging could have a look at it (it is available from mentors.d.n). And IIRC the newmat package still needs a sponsor (Andreas?!). I was not able to use the Debian version of libgdchart. Neither did compiling FSL worked nor was I able to locate the problem. Can you specify the problem more detailed? I have no experiences with libgdchart, but dicussing the problem on debian-devel is very often helpful. I get a linker error if I use the Debian version of libgdchart: g++ -L/usr/lib -L/home/michael/debian/build-area/fsl-xp/lib -L/usr/lib -L/usr/lib -L/usr/lib -L/usr/lib -L. -L/home/michael/debian/build-area/fsl-xp/lib -L/home/michael/debian/build-area/fsl-xp/lib -o filmbabe halfcosbasisoptions.o filmbabe_manager.o filmbabeoptions.o filmbabe_vb_flobs.o filmbabe.o -lutils -lmiscplot -lmiscpic -lnewimage -lmiscplot -lmiscmaths -lnewmat -lfslio -lniftiio -lprob -lgdc -lgd -lpng -lznz -lz -lm /usr/lib/libgdc.so: undefined reference to `GDCPIE_label_font' /usr/lib/libgdc.so: undefined reference to `GDC_title_ptsize' /usr/lib/libgdc.so: undefined reference to `GDCPIE_3d_angle' f/usr/lib/libgdc.so: undefined reference to `GDCPIE_label_dist' /usr/lib/libgdc.so: undefined reference to `GDCPIE_title_font' /usr/lib/libgdc.so: undefined reference to `GDCPIE_title_size' /usr/lib/libgdc.so: undefined reference to `GDCPIE_percent_labels' /usr/lib/libgdc.so: undefined reference to `GDC_xtitle_ptsize' /usr/lib/libgdc.so: undefined reference to `GDC_annotation_ptsize' /usr/lib/libgdc.so: undefined reference to `GDCPIE_label_line' /usr/lib/libgdc.so: undefined reference to `GDC_title_font' /usr/lib/libgdc.so: undefined reference to `GDC_annotation_font' /usr/lib/libgdc.so: undefined reference to `GDCPIE_label_ptsize' /usr/lib/libgdc.so: undefined reference to `GDCPIE_LineColor' /usr/lib/libgdc.so: undefined reference to `GDC_xtitle_font' /usr/lib/libgdc.so: undefined reference to `GDCPIE_EdgeColor' /usr/lib/libgdc.so: undefined reference to `GDC_ytitle_ptsize' /usr/lib/libgdc.so: undefined reference to `GDCPIE_explode' /usr/lib/libgdc.so: undefined reference to `GDCPIE_3d_depth' /usr/lib/libgdc.so: undefined reference to `GDCPIE_percent_fmt' /usr/lib/libgdc.so: undefined reference to `GDCPIE_other_threshold' /usr/lib/libgdc.so: undefined reference to `GDCPIE_title' /usr/lib/libgdc.so: undefined reference to `GDC_xaxis_ptsize' /usr/lib/libgdc.so: undefined reference to `GDC_xaxis_font' /usr/lib/libgdc.so: undefined reference to `GDCPIE_PlotColor' /usr/lib/libgdc.so: undefined reference to `GDCPIE_missing' /usr/lib/libgdc.so: undefined reference to `GDCPIE_BGColor' /usr/lib/libgdc.so: undefined reference to `GDC_ytitle_font' /usr/lib/libgdc.so: undefined reference to `GDCPIE_title_ptsize' /usr/lib/libgdc.so: undefined reference to `GDCPIE_perspective' /usr/lib/libgdc.so: undefined reference to `GDCPIE_Color' /usr/lib/libgdc.so: undefined reference to `GDCPIE_label_size' collect2: ld returned 1 exit status I compared the included libgdc version with the current Debian one and found no significant differences. I attached the source code file that seems to cause the problem. I my oppinion this issue has to be solved before considering FSL as a candidate for Debian. The last remaining library is CEPHES. There is still no package. But as I do not know of any other application that uses this lib, it might be ok to keep this one compiled from the FSL source code. Well, this depends (as always). If you ask me issuing a RFP or rather ITP and packaging it from a clean upstream source would be the clean way to go (TM). If this does not fit your time frame we could

Bug#322168: marked as done (ITP: pyme -- Python interface to the GPGME GnuPG encryption library)
Your message dated Sun, 19 Feb 2006 08:11:39 -0800 with message-id [EMAIL PROTECTED] and subject line Bug#322168: fixed in pyme 0.7.0-1 has caused the attached Bug report to be marked as done. This means that you claim that the problem has been dealt with. If this is not the case it is now your responsibility to reopen the Bug report if necessary, and/or fix the problem forthwith. (NB: If you are a system administrator and have no idea what I am talking about this indicates a serious mail system misconfiguration somewhere. Please contact me immediately.) Debian bug tracking system administrator (administrator, Debian Bugs database) ---BeginMessage--- Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist * Package name: pyme Version : 0.7.0 Upstream Author : Igor Belyi belyi.users.sourceforge.net * URL : http://sourceforge.net/projects/pyme/ * License : LGPL Description : Python interface to the GPGME GnuPG encryption library Pyme is, for the most part, a direct interface to the C GPGME library. However, it is re-packaged in a more Pythonic way -- object-oriented with classes and modules. Take a look at the classes defined here -- they correspond directly to certain object types in GPGME for C. . Features: * Feature-rich, full implementation of the GPGME library. Supports all GPGME features except interactive editing (coming soon). Callback functions may be written in pure Python. * Ability to sign, encrypt, decrypt, and verify data. * Ability to list keys, export and import keys, and manage the keyring. * Fully object-oriented with convenient classes and modules. - This package was shipped with Debian from 2002-11 (see Bug #169807) till 2003-10 (see Bug #213124). It now is again being maintained upstream. Preliminary packages are available from the upstream site (upstream does ship a debian/ directory in the tarball) as well as from the apt-able archive at deb[-src] http://non-gnu.uvt.nl/debian sarge pyme . Beware! These packages are still pretty rough on the edges! The package on non-gnu.uvt.nl will likely get updated soonish. Upstream is responsive and cooperative. It is rumoured Ubuntu is preparing a package too. (I couldn't find any published stuff yet, though.) Bug#353641: RFP: gaim-plugins -- 28 useful plugins for the Gaim instant messenger
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist It would be great any or all of these useful gaim plugins could be packaged for Debian. I assume they could all go in one single package called gaim-plugins with the version number of the version of gaim they are built against, since: A) Plugins are easy to disable in the Gaim prefs dialog. B) If it was all a single package, I guess it'd be easier to rebuild the package against a newer version of Gaim if this was ever necessary. gaim-osd 1.0.0-1 - prints incoming messages and other information at the bottom of your screen - font size, auto-disable when you're at your PC, and more are configurable http://gaimosd.sourceforge.net/ src: http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=51563 Extended Preferences 0.5 - lets you change Gaim UI's font size - lets you make other UI tweaks http://gaim-extprefs.sourceforge.net/ep.shtml src: http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=107659 SmartEar 1.0.0 - lets you set up custom notification sounds representing each of your friends - lets you specify that sounds should be played no more often than N seconds http://somewhere.fscked.org/smartear/ src: http://somewhere.fscked.org/smartear/#download Gaim Plugin Pack 1.0beta2 - 24 plugins, though some may or may not be built in the Debian package: - buddynote - Store local notes about a buddy. - lastseen - Shows how long since a buddy was last online and the last message you recieved from the buddy in the buddy's tooltip. - markerline - Draws a line beneath the last read text in a conversation/chat so you have a visual clue where you stopped following the conversation. - newline - Prepends a newline to the beginning of every message written to a conversation so that the screen name or alias of a buddy appears on a separate line from the message. - stocker - Adds a stock ticker to the buddy list; this is similar to the stock ticker found in Windows AIM. - Many more: aadium_xml_logger, bit (Buddy Icon Tools), blistops (Buddy List Options), buzzer, dice, flip, Gaim-XChat, gRIM, groupmsg (Group Message), irssidate, listhandler, mystatusbox, nicksaid, oldlogger, sepandtab (Separate and Tab), showoffline, simfix, sslinfo, talkfilters - see homepage for details: http://guifications.sourceforge.net/PluginPack/ src: http://guifications.sourceforge.net/downloads.php RatGaim (still maintained; homepage mentions unfixed bugs) - displays incoming IMs in the ratpoison window manager's message bar http://linux.mikeasoft.com/ratgaim.php src: http://linux.mikeasoft.com/ratgaim.tar.gz I assume that if these plugins are compiled against Gaim 1.5.0 they will still work when Gaim 2.0.0 is released into unstable and testing. At http://www.student.cs.uwaterloo.ca/~kzorin/texim.php it says: Make sure that the gaim binary you use is as new or newer than the gaim sources that you compile your plugins against. ... Gaim enforces that if a plugin's version is later than your gaim version, it will not show up in your gaim plugins list when you run the program. If you would like to request more plugins as well, feel free to reply to this bug and hope that they will be included as well.
