Bug#347352: gnash build errors

2006-05-02 Thread Miriam Ruiz
Hi,

Yes, I've noticed that too. As .la files seem to have been removed from latest
xorg, /usr/lib/libXcursor.la doesn't exist anymore (
http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2006/04/msg00346.html ), the current
building system seems to fail. I'll try to fix that ASAP

Thanks,
Miry

Description: Real-Time-Linux, a POSIX-compatible hard realtime operating system.
RT-Linux makes it possible to use Linux to control real time applications
like scientific experiments, model railways, or industrial plants.
 .
It is a true hard RTOS. The whole Linux system (kernel and user processes)
runs as the lowest priority thread of the RTLinux kernel, and it is always
 pre-emptible.
 .
Finite State Machine Labs Inc. (FSMLabs) created and maintains RTLinux.
See http://www.rtlinux.org/ or http://www.fsmlabs.com/ for further information.
 .
Since RTLinux is POSIX-compatible, most of the man pages are taken from the
SUSV (The Single UNIX Specification, www.opengroup.org). That documentation
can be downloaded but not redistributed. Therefore, it is not
included in the package, but an installer is supplied.

Bug#365728: RFP: helium - functional programming language and a compiler designed especially for learning Haskell

2006-05-02 Thread Eddy Petrişor

Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: helium
 Version : 1.6
Upstream Author : The Helium team (http://www.cs.uu.nl/helium/contact.html)
* URL : http://www.cs.uu.nl/helium/index.html
* License : Helium is distributed under the GNU General Public License.
Description : functional PL and a compiler designed especially
for learning Haskell

Helium is a functional programming language and a compiler designed
especially for learning Haskell. It is being developed at the Software
Technology group of the Institute of Information and Computing
Sciences of Utrecht University in the Netherlands. Quality of the
error messages has been the main concern both in the choice of the
language features and in the implementation of the compiler. Our goal
is to let students (or anyone) learn functional programming more
quickly and with more fun.

Note: Helium does not support type classes yet. For that reason it is
incompatible with Haskell text books.

The language is a subset of the Haskell language. The essential
features we want to teach are all there: algebraic data types, pattern
matching, higher-order functions, laziness and polymorphism. The most
notable difference with Haskell is the absence of overloading, which
is a mixed blessing. Without overloading many function types are
simpler and thus more specific type errors can be given.

What can do snv2bzr that cannot be done with tailor (that allows
incremental updates and two-way conversions) ? This is a real question
as I do not know anything about Bazaar.

Hello,

I intend to adopt this package; in fact, a new upstream version is now
available, albeit built for Ubuntu.[0] I will port this to Sid as soon
as possible; Expect an RFS posted soon on the debian-mentors mailing
list.

Cheers,

Zakame

svn2bzr converts more then one branch (tailor can convert only one
branch and does not track the relationship between branches). It keeps more
metadata (such as
ignored files, and executable bits). It is also faster then tailor and works
better (tailor fails in a lot of corner cases).

Description : Python module to easily build and dissect network protocols

Impacket is a collection of Python classes focused on providing access
to network packets. Impacket allows Python developers to craft and
decode network packets in simple and consistent manner. It includes
support for low-level protocols such as IP, UDP and TCP, as well as
higher-level protocols such as NMB and SMB.

Impacket is highly effective when used in conjunction with a packet
capture utility or package such as Pcapy. Packets can be constructed
From scratch, as well as parsed from raw data. Furthermore, the object
oriented API makes it simple to work with deep protocol hierarchies.

I am no longer using python-medusa, so want to put it up
for adoption (maybe for someone who is into python). The
package is in fine shape, probably just needs a little
updating as Debian shifts to python 1.4, etc.

Not heavily used, no serious bugs reported, but should not
be removed from the project - there are people out there
who care.

Description : ncurses-based scanner for Bluetooth devices

btscanner is a tool designed specifically to extract as much information
as possible from a Bluetooth device without the requirement to pair. A
detailed information screen extracts HCI and SDP information, and
maintains an open connection to monitor the RSSI and link quality.
btscanner is based on the BlueZ Bluetooth stack, which is included with
recent Linux kernels, and the BlueZ toolset. btscanner also contains a
complete listing of the IEEE OUI numbers and class lookup tables. Using
the information gathered from these sources it is possible to make
educated guesses as to the host device type.

Description : Lex and Yacc implementation for Python

>From the homepage: "PLY is yet another implementation of lex
and yacc for Python. Although several other parsing tools
are available for Python, there are several reasons why you
might want to take a look at PLY:

 * It's implemented entirely in Python.

 * It uses LR-parsing which is reasonably efficient and well
   suited for larger grammars.

 * PLY provides most of the standard lex/yacc features
including support for empty productions, precedence
rules, error recovery, and support for ambiguous
   grammars.

 * PLY is extremely easy to use and provides very extensive
   error checking."

Bug#298730: news

2006-05-02 Thread Duck

Coin,

A few minutes ago, tofu and cerealizer were uploaded, editobj was
updated and fixed today. These are now using python-support to be able
to automagically bytecompile for supported versions when they are
installed.

Soya is nearly ready for upload to have Python 2.4 support. I was
willing to upload the latest 0.10.3 which contains a compilation fix but
this release is buggy and i'm waiting for a fixed version if it does
come soon.

Pyopenal needs to have 2.4 support and to go to new like soya ; this is
on the way.

Balazar 0.3 is finally out, i'm testing it soon.

With python-support and some work arounds i would not have to wait for
doko to update python default version as this is begining to last too
much now...

Bug#365802: RFP: expresskeys -- Program to use "pad" device of Wacom Tablets

2006-05-02 Thread Kapil Hari Paranjape
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

Hello,

* Package name: expresskeys
  Version : 0.2.6
  Upstream Author : Mats Johannesson <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
Denis DerSarkisian <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
* URL : http://web.telia.com/~u46133770/wacom/index.html
* License : GPL
  Programming Lang: C
Description : Program to use "pad" device of Wacom Tablets

(From the README)

This program gives basic linux support for the ExpressKeys and touch
Strips of a Wacom Intuos3 tablet or a Cintiq 21UX Interactive Pen
Display.

(also note)

It also works with the Graphire tablet buttons.

Perhaps it could be packaged along with wacom-tools.

Regards,

Kapil.

Just curious how the packaging effort is going.

Thanks,

Bug#365802: RFP: expresskeys -- Program to use "pad" device of Wacom Tablets

2006-05-02 Thread Ron
reassign 365802 wacom-tools
thanks

Hi,

I don't actually have a tablet I can test this on at present,
but a quick look at the code gets it through my most basic
sanity checks in pretty good shape, so I will take a better
look at it. If it works as expected, maintaining it with the
rest of the wacom tools seems like the best thing to me as well.

We can deal with who will test it when the bug reports come in...
:-)

cheers,
Ron
