Description : SSH2 protocol implementation in pure Java

Ganymed SSH2 for Java is a library which implements the SSH2 protocol in pure
Java. It allows one to connect to SSH servers from within Java programs. It
supports SSH sessions (remote command execution and shell access), local port
forwarding, local stream forwarding, and SCP. There are no dependencies on any
JCE provider, as all crypto functionality is included.
 .
Ganymed SSH2 for Java was originally developed for the Ganymed replication
project and a couple of other projects at the IKS group at ETH Zurich.

Bug#374257: ITP: svnclientadapter -- high-level Java API for Subversion

Description : high-level Java API for Subversion

Subversion is a version control system much like the Concurrent Versions
System (CVS). Version control systems allow many individuals (who may be
distributed geographically) to collaborate on a set of files (typically
source code). Subversion has all the major features of CVS, plus certain
new features that CVS users often wish they had.
 .
SVNClientAdapter is easier Java API for Subversion and is used by Subclipse.
It can use one of 2 low-level Subversion client implementations to provide
 access to the Subversion repository:
  * JavaHL (JNI), Subversion library
  * JavaSVN, pure Java Subversion client
  * Command line Subversion client

This is Paul Vixie's rtty serial console tool. It allows runs a server
per port which then support multiple connections at time from
"tip"/"cu"-like clients. It also supports logging of output from the
port, even when no client is connected. This can be invaluable for post
mortem diagnosis of crashes of serial consoled machines.

Description : Dvipost is a post processor for dvi files to support change
bars an overstrike mode

Dvipost is a post processor for dvi files, created by latex or tex.
If the command is invoked as pplatex, it integrates the call of latex
and the post processing of the dvi file.
.
Dvipost is used for special modes, which normally needs the support of
dvi drivers (such as dvips). With dvipost, this features could be implemented
independent of the prefered driver. Currently, the post processor supports
layout raster, change bars and overstrike mode.

Bug#374257: ITP: svnclientadapter -- high-level Java API for Subversion

2006-06-18 Thread Roberto Sanchez

Ivan Dubrov wrote:

Description : high-level Java API for Subversion

Subversion is a version control system much like the Concurrent Versions
System (CVS). Version control systems allow many individuals (who may be
distributed geographically) to collaborate on a set of files (typically
source code). Subversion has all the major features of CVS, plus certain
new features that CVS users often wish they had.
 .
SVNClientAdapter is easier Java API for Subversion and is used by Subclipse.
It can use one of 2 low-level Subversion client implementations to provide
 access to the Subversion repository:
  * JavaHL (JNI), Subversion library
  * JavaSVN, pure Java Subversion client
  * Command line Subversion client
 .
 Homepage: http://subclipse.tigris.org/

Please fix the description if your package. For the short description,
something like: "abstract subversion client library", though the one you
have may also work with tweaking. For the long description, the first
paragraph is unnecessary and the second paragraph should be modified for
the target audience (i.e., developers or end users).

Bug#248751: RFP: openmortal -- parody of popular fighting game - package proposal draft

2006-06-18 Thread Jérôme Warnier
Hi, I packaged OpenMortal for Debian yesterday.
I had to apply a patch from the SF BTS to allow building it with GCC 4.1
on Sid.

The resulting sources are available from here:
http://apt.bxlug.be/sarge/sources (don't worry about the "sarge" in the
path, it is done primarily for Sid, but also work on Sarge after
rebuild).

For a binary package for Sarge or Sid, please ask me in private.

This is a draft because I did not yet clean the packaging, and this
package would probably benefit from being split into smaller packages
(one for binaries and one for data, for example). That's also why I did
not "upgrade" your RFP to ITP, and I don't intend to keep up with the
packaging.

Hope it helps anyway

Bug#374373: ITP: googleearth-package -- utility for automatically building a Google Earth Debian package

Description : utility for automatically building a Google Earth Debian

Google Earth is a great program now available for GNU/Linux, but sadly
is both non-free and non-distributable. For those who wish to run it on
their Debian system, but wish it to be managed by the normal Debian
packaging system, this program will assist in building a local Debian
package in a similar fashion to java-package. This package *itself*
contains absolutely no code from Google and is 100% free. (For the
curious, this is appropriately destined for contrib.)

Would "it" be put in /usr? The app seems to want to live somewhere
under an individual's $HOME.

Yes, it'll create a "googleearth" Debian package that installs in /usr
like a normal package; I'm still in the process of getting it all
scripted and working, but since it worked fine when I did a
proof-of-concept trial in a chroot, I don't think they'll be any big
problems.

Bug#374373: downloader packages

2006-06-18 Thread Paul Wise
Hi,

Wouldn't it be a good idea to merge all these downloader packages into
one named nonfree-package-creator or something. There are a lot of
these: flashplugin-nonfree, java-package, googleearth-package,
msttcorefonts, hyperspec, susv2/3, quake2-data, nvidia-cg-toolkit,
qmailanalog-installer, daemontools-installer, atokx, f-prot-installer
and so on. I'd like to add stuffit to the list if that happens.

When I tried to install it as root (using "su -" from an xterm
window), it complained about not being able to find DISPLAY. Unlike
Sun Java & Macromedia Flash, it uses a GUI installer.

Since many (most?) desktop users install apps from within su or
sudo'ed xterm windows, how will you work around that?
