Are these graphics distributable at all ? It seems to me they are taken

distribute without a license from Square Software...

Bug#334178: Package should be removed

2006-07-23 Thread Luis Rodrigo Gallardo Cruz
This package

* Has been orphaned for almost a year, with no ITAs
* Has never been part of a stable release
* Is RC-buggy, because original maintainer considers it
  experimental (#263358)
* Has only 7 popcon instalations, all of them 'old'.

I believe it should be removed. I will retitle this bug
and reassign it to ftp.debian.org one month from now,
unless there are objections.

According to the author, some are made by David Gervais who gave
permission to distribute, and the rest were generated using charas.ex,
which I assume means that they are at least distributable, but I can't
immediately confirm this.

Bug#379383: TAG: sexy-python -- python binding for libsexy

2006-07-23 Thread Lionel Dricot
Package: wnpp
Severity: RFP

Libsexy is a set of advanced widgets for GTK2. Libsexy is already part
of Debian.
But the python bindings, available at
http://www.chipx86.com/wiki/Libsexy#sexy-python , are still not in
Debian.

It would be very useful to have it so pygtk softwares can use libsexy.

Bug#320213: Sponsoring pymsnt to Debian archives

2006-07-23 Thread Sami Haahtinen
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA1

Hey,

You were looking for someone to sponsor pymsnt to Debian archives. I
looked through the packaging and i think it would be good to use ucf for
the configuration file. Since there will be changes to the configuration
file in the future, it would help the users to adopt these changes.

I don't think this is a blocker though.

Another good thing would be to update the init script to use LSB
functions and include a LSB header in the beginning of the init script.

Other than that, i'm deploying it here first and checking that
everything else is in order. After that, if it's OK by you.. i'll upload
the package.

Note: Gerd has been upstream author of xawtv, too. Not sure, if he

Bug#280566: ITP: clit -- Decompiler for Microsoft's .lit ebook format

2006-07-23 Thread W. Borgert
On the page http://www.convertlit.com/ there is no mentioning of
an anonymous author. The source code states clearly
Dan A. Jackson as the author and copyright holder, and the GPL
as the license of the program. Plus parts by others with BSD or
what with advertising clause and under public domain.

If a non-related web page of Stuart Caie, who says on his page
I like myths and legends, tells something different, so what?

Btw. I tried your packages (libtomath and clit) on amd64 and
they seem to work. I think, you should remove the dh_testroot in
libtommath-0.37/debian/rules:27 under build-stamp:.

Hi,

So, I will now work on packaging, and I hope to see it in Debian mid-august.

Description : a modern but not gaudy X11 mouse theme
Package comes with 15 different mouse themes for X11.
5 colors (anthracite, sky blue, dark sky blue, white, pearl)
3 different sizes (small, regular and large)
 .
 Preview: http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=38459

The default, industrial-cursor-theme, comes in just one size. The two
other good themes we have, comixcursors and crystalcursors are really
compatible only with desktop themes matching .*k.*. xcursor-themes
are only so-so, so adding one more package won't hurt...

Speaking from a more complete point of view, the only themes worth
being packaged left on http://www.foo-look.org are perhaps silver and
yellowdot -- the rest is either redundant or ugly. Of course, you do
know that my opinion is the highest authority in the realm of
aesthethics.

[1]. Should I stick to *-cursor-theme or *cursors? Or keep the
upstream name, chameleon Xcursors?

[2]. Alas, they don't seem to support WindowMaker or BlackBox :p

Description : RT2400/2500/2570 wireless network drivers

This package would contain version 2 of the rt2x00 drivers that are
currently distributed as separate rt2400 and rt2500 packages (and a
proposed rt2570 package). It probably belongs in experimental
initially.

are: sylpheed-claws-gtk2-etpan-privacy, sylpheed-claws-gtk2-perl-filter,
and sylpheed-claws-gtk2-vcalendar-plugin.

In addition of these three, the following binary packages are provided:

This plugin handles S/MIME signed and/or encrypted mails in Sylpheed-Claws.
You can decrypt mails, verify signatures or sign and encrypt your own mails.
 .
This plugin doesn't handle signed+encrypted and encryption of multipart
 messages very well (yet).

Package: sylpheed-claws-gtk2-html2-viewer

Hi,

How will this be different from the existing package nec?
Your package name is different but your description is identical!

Perhaps it's because of C++/Python rather than the original FORTRAN.
This must translate into some sort of benefit to the end-user that could
be listed in the description.

Thanks,
