Bug#356193: boot splash screen and progress bar support in Debian?
What is the status of getting usplash and/or boot splash screen suppport into Debian? I tested usplash from ubuntu, and the only issue to solve before it will work out of the box seem to be the framebuffer enabling. The code do enable it was moved from the usplash package to the initramfs-tools package in Ubuntu, but seem to be missing from the debian version of initramfs-tools. Not quite sure how to properly fix that for debian. I've sent a few patches for usplash to Scott James Remnant, and hope he will include them in a future version. Nothing fancy, just adding more sensible error messages which helped me figure out why usplash was failing when I tested it without a working framebuffer. :) I'll try to get usplash uploaded this week, along with a new version of initscripts with progress bar support. Bug#374120: Aleph is known as AFNIX now
clone 374120 -1 retitle -1 RFP: afnix -- multi-threaded functional programming language severity -1 wishlist quit Aleph has been superseded by AFNIX, and Aleph is no longer being developed. Their new homepage: http://www.afnix.org/ If someone wants to adopt this package, they'll have to most likely package AFNIX instead and have Aleph removed from the archive. I'd expect the packaging done for Aleph to be useful for AFNIX too. Not having looked at it, though. I've cloned this O bug as an RFP. I think reassigning this bug to ftp.debian.org to ask for Aleph's removal is appropriate if and when someone picks up the RFP bug. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#289248: WNPP bug retitle
retitle 289248 O: ntlmaps -- NTLM Authorization Proxy Server noowner 289248 thanks obrigado Hello, This is an automatic mail sent to retitle the ITA you have reported or are involved with. Your ITA wnpp bug is being orphaned because of the following reasons: - It is, as of today, older than 250 days. - It hasn't had any activity recently. As this is an automatic procedure, it could of course have something wrong and probably it would be managing some bugs that are not intended by owners and submitters (like you) to be orphaned, for example if the ITA is still of your interest, or there has been some kind of activity around it. In that case, please retitle the bug, do it, DO IT NOW! (I don't want to be blamed because of mass closing and not let people know that they can easily recover their bugs ;-). To retitle it, you simply have to mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a body text like this: retitle 289248 ITA: ntlmaps -- NTLM Authorization Proxy Server owner 289248 ! thanks bts Further comments on the work done in the bug sent to [EMAIL PROTECTED] would be truly welcomed. Anyway, if you have any kind of problems when dealing with the BTS, feel free to contact me and I'd be more than happy to help you on this: [EMAIL PROTECTED]. The case was a tough one -- but then, they knew better than to call me for the easy ones. Name's Ace, Ace Lucas. I'm a Private Hacker. It says so on my door. I had just settled for a quiet night, just me, the fags, the vodka, and the flickering neon throwing crosses through my window like it had a contest going on with the Klueless Klan. Next door, those damn kids were shrieking up the place again, informing everyone that sex was being had. Outside, the glancing headlights of the last bus kissed childhood goodbye, and then, the night was dark as a lorrie-load of assholes. And that was when this hunky patron knocked on that same door. The neon's frantic stutter returned, and I took another drag from the Senior Service. I switched on a token bulb and casually knocked against the wall. Come!, I shouted, both to the patron and to the kids. Miss Lucas?, he asked with a voice like Whiskey. The same., I said, the evening's two packs registering in my voice. Enchanté., I added drily, mostly in an attempt to clear my throat. Find me a file-manager that doesn't suck., he said unceromoneously. I grunted. That'll cost ya., I told him between puffs. They don't make the likes of those anymore. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable Architecture: i386 Kernel: Linux iasoon 2.6.0-test11 #2 SMP Sat Dec 6 17:19:19 CET 2003 i686 Locale: LANG=en_GB.ISO8859-15, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.ISO8859-15 ---End Message--- ---BeginMessage--- Hello, This is an automatic mail sent to close the RFP you have reported or are involved with. Bug#311597: State of anyterm debian package

However, I am still working on finding a solution to being able to allow logins without requiring the addition of the www-data user to the utmp group. Applications that use the Privman library split into two halves, the half that performs valid privileged operations, and the half that contains the application's logic. It's used when you want to create HTML pages containing information which changes from time to time. For example you might want to have a page which provides an overall system summary of data collected nightly. Or maybe you have a catalog of data and images that you would like formed into a spiffy set of web pages for the world to browse. Python is a great scripting language for these tasks and with HTMLgen it's very straightforward to construct objects which are rendered into consistently structured web pages. Of course, CGI scripts written in Python can take advantage of these classes as well.
