  Shouldn't it be 0.7? Perhaps I am a bit wrong, though.

 You might want to take the package from Ubuntu. IMHO there's nothing
 that must be changed for Debian except debian/copyright which is
 a bit vague for Debian standards.

Package:CPU Burn-in

Version: 1.0.1

Severity:wishlist

License: Free for non-commercial use

Info: CPU Burn-in v1.01 by Michal Mienik is the ultimate stability testing
tool for overclockers. The program heats up any x86 CPU to the maximum
possible operating temperature that is achievable by using ordinary software.
This allows the user to adjust the CPU speed up to the practical maximum while
still being sure that stability is achieved even under the most stressful
conditions. The program continuously monitors for erroneous calculations and
errors ensuring the CPU does not generate errors during calculations performed
under overclocking conditions

There shouldn't be a problem using cdbs, since it's already used by some
packages maintained by the Debian VoIP Team.

I am tuning more actively into voip these days, so might also be
interested in helping out with some of your other packages if
interested.

I'll look at the above links, subscribe to your mailinglist and stuff
(have already looked quickly at your packaging, and will merge with my
own done using cdbs and other cleverness).

Could you please give me write access to your SVN? My nick at
subversion is js.

You need to create an account on Alioth[1], and add your authorized SSH
key[2]. Then ask one of the pkg-voip project leaders[3] (or post to the
pkg-voip-maintainers mailing list) to add you to the VoIP team.

Bug#380450: ITP: openser -- very fast and configurable SIP proxy

2006-07-30 Thread Julien BLACHE
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Julien BLACHE [EMAIL PROTECTED]

* Package name: openser
  Version : 1.1.0
  Upstream Author : OpenSER contributors
* URL : http://www.openser.org
* License : GPL
  Programming Lang: C
  Description : very fast and configurable SIP proxy

 OpenSER is a very fast and flexible SIP (RFC3621)
 proxy server. Written entirely in C, OpenSER can handle thousands calls
 per second even on low-budget hardware.
 .
 C Shell-like scripting language provides full control over the server's
 behaviour. Its modular architecture allows only required functionality to be
 loaded.
 .
 Among others, the following modules are available: Digest Authentication, CPL
 scripts, Instant Messaging, MySQL support, Presence Agent, Radius
 Authentication, Record Routing, SMS Gateway, Jabber Gateway, Transaction
 Module, Registrar and User Location.

The package is maintained as part of the pkg-voip team.

Due to the lack of OpenSSL license exception, the official Debian packages
will not support TLS until this is fixed, but the build system supports
building TLS-enabled packages using the TLS source tarball provided by
upstream with no modification to the build scripts.

Hello Daniel,

You said in November last year that you will hijack this package, do
you still intend to do this? What is the status?
AFAIUI, the new version should be made to work in parallel with the
old one since there are some packages which depend on the old version
(while upsteam has made this possible).

Bug#375496: Time plan?

2006-07-30 Thread Oscar Haeger

Hi.
Not to be a PITA but is there a time plan for the official packages?
I'm thinking about using Karl-Heinz packages but if the official
packages are about to be released soon I don't think I will. I'd prefer
to use the official if possible.

Hi Ender,

What's the status of the galaxymage (

* Package name: openser
  Version : 1.1.0
  Upstream Author : OpenSER contributors
* URL : http://www.openser.org
* License : GPL

 Jinja is a text-based template language similar to Cheetah and Smarty.
 The syntax and parts of the code where taken from the django template.
 .
 Like the django template, Jinja tries to simplify templating but provide a
 powerful syntax. The idea is to remove all application logic from the
 template. Sounds limited but you should have a look at the example below to
 see the power behind the system.

Bug#372118: pointers fir ipw3945 packages

2006-07-30 Thread Daniel Baumann
Joachim Reichel wrote:

again, for those who don't know already..

the 'problem' is not, that nobody wants to work on this or doesn't have
the time to do it, but there is still an official statement of -release
and -kernel about the policy for oot-modules in etch missing.

if all oot-modules outside waldis linux-modules-extra don't get
permission for updates into point-releases, then they have to be dropped
due to unmaintability.

until this statement is made, there is no sense to start packaging all
ipw* packages at all (yes, this includes ipw2100 and ipw2200 which are,
although already in mainline, worthile to have in a more updated version
as oot in the archive).

 Do you still intend to adopt crashme? (This is just a ping, I'm not
 interested in adopting it myself.)

I haven't heard back from you, so I'm assuming you're no longer
interested. If you are, feel free to retitle the bug again.

Bug#380542: O: dcc

2006-07-30 Thread Martin Zobel-Helas
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

I have no time and interest in this package anymore, so I orphan it.

The packaging is in normal shape, though it has some normal bugs open
(the one RC is for keeping it out of testing).

DCC's upstream decided to change it's license to non-free according DFSG
with version 1.3.0 stating:

The Distributed Checksum Clearinghouse source carries a license that is
free to organizations that do not sell filtering devices or services
except to their own users and that participate in the global DCC
network.

Communication with upstream was somehow hard, as he seemed to blacklist
several ip ranges, including master's and murphy's ip-range as well as
the ip-range i ussualy used for mailing. So neither mailing him directly
nor mailing to the mailing list was possible (at least when i last tried
in Jan 2006).

If you intend to take that package, please consider moving it to
non-free, as upstreams license is non-free according to DFSG §6.

See also popcon stats about DCC at [1].

Spamassassin (in stable) suggests dcc-client, so dcc-client is quite
often installed.

Greetings
Martin

If not, I am willing to hijack this ITP.CC'ing this to Angus in hope that he will shed some light on the currentsituation.I asked Fanio once in March what he intended with this package and got no response. Since I gained upstream commit rights through other patches, I figured I may as well just submit my packaging files. I would be happy for you to take over package ownership and upload to Debian.

Before an upload into Debian proper, I'd suggest changing the package name to warzone2100{,-data} and possibly weakening the -data package dependency to simply $source:Upstream-Version, so we don't have to release a new (large) -data package for a simple binary recompile.

Hi,

 Under http://tokkee.org/debian/ one can find an unofficial
 Debian package (source + i386).

A couple of people independently reported the following error:

$ Digibux
/usr/lib/GNUstep/System/Applications/Digibux.app/Digibux: symbol lookup error:
/usr/lib/GNUstep/System/Library/Bundles/libgnustep-back.bundle/./libgnustep-back

I was not able to reproduce it, though, but it seems it's caused by some
versions of libfreetype.

Cheers,

Bug#380583: ITP: debcache -- python module to maintain and serve a cache of Debian packages

2006-07-30 Thread Adeodato Simó
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Adeodato Simó [EMAIL PROTECTED]

* Package name: debcache
  Version : N/A
  Upstream Author : Adeodato Simó [EMAIL PROTECTED]
* URL (bzr branch): http://people.debian.org/~adeodato/code/debian/debcache
* License : MIT
  Programming Lang: Python
  Description : python module to maintain and serve a cache of Debian
packages

 debcache is another caching solution for Debian packages and other files found
 in Debian mirrors. It consists on a Python module with classes that implement
 the creation and maintenance of the cache in a transport-agnostic way, on top
 of which different front-ends and even user-end applications can be
implemented.

 This package includes the following front-ends:

  * a standalone proxy to serve HTTP requests (like apt-proxy) [TODO]
  * a fast mod_python handler that lets Apache serve all the static files
  * a command-line client to pre-fetch packages based on the existing ones
[TODO]

 The module also implements various cleanup mechanisms, including deletion of
 no longer referenced files, expiration based on age, and by number of versions
 (global or per distribution). [TODO]

 Other features include support for downloading Packages files via pdiff (like
 apt itself does), and denying clients access to those diffs by default.

 * * *

(The story: a year ago or so, and after repeated unhappiness with
apt-proxy and apt-cacher, I wrote my first implementation of a caching
system for Debian packages, in Ruby, which has been doing the job for
over a year, both at home and work.

Recently I became unhappy with it as well, and tried to like approx,
which was really easy even despite the lack of pdiff support (#367475),
but not so much after discovering it would delete source packages from
the cache (#374736), and really impossible after some hours of banging
my head against OCaml repeteadly trying to fix that bug myself.

Since updating my Ruby stuff to support pdiffs really made me shiver,
and since I knew of a pdiff implementation in Python by Florian Weimer,
I found myself one night putting some code together, and using it some
days after. It is still uncomplete, but as of today, SORTAWORKSFORME.)
