Description : a small utility for displaying the HTTP headers

furl is a small utility for displaying the HTTP headers
returned by Web servers in response to client requests
   .
It can impersonate two different browser: Internet Explorer
   and Mozilla

Is there a real benefit over lynx -dump -head and similar things ?

It' s more little and easy to use... a little utility.
I must specify this in description, sorry.

$ ls -alh /usr/bin/furl
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 8,6K 2006-08-11 10:18 /usr/bin/furl

I don't know what the status of the original submitters, but I'd be quite
ready to take this ITP over if nobody objected. StepMania is now on its way
to getting a free theme -- AFAICS the graphics, animations and music have
been replaced and only a few things (like sound effects) remain, so if the
current progress continues, it could go into the archive quite soon.

I already have prepackages ready (actually, has had for about a year now),
 but
they're of course still undistributable due to the offending theme material,
and will have to go to experimental as long as we're talking StepMania 4
 here.

It's OK. I was quite interested in the package too. I've been packaging it for
myself for a long time too, that's why I asked. In case you're interested in
packaging the game collaboratively, maybe you can count with the Debian Games
Team. Otherwise I'll be waiting for it, it's one of my favourite games :)

Greetings,
Miry

They already are merged.

Nice... Any reason why you didn't choose the same package names as

Bug#382994: ITP: rebase -- The restriction enzyme database, from New England Biolabs

2006-08-14 Thread Charles Plessy
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Charles Plessy [EMAIL PROTECTED]

  Package name: rebase
  Version : NA
Upstream Author : Dr. Richard J. Roberts and Dana Macelis
(http://rebase.neb.com/rebase/rebase.staff.html)
  URL : http://rebase.neb.com
License : Permission obtained by email (see below)
Description : The restriction enzyme database, from New England Biolabs

The Restriction Enzyme data BASE is a collection of information about
restriction enzymes and related proteins. It contains published and
unpublished references, recognition and cleavage sites, isoschizomers,
commercial availability, methylation sensitivity, crystal and sequence
data. DNA methyltransferases, homing endonucleases, nicking enzymes,
specificity subunits and control proteins are also included. Most
recently, putative DNA methyltransferases and restriction enzymes, as
predicted from analysis of genomic sequences, are also listed. REBASE
is continuously updated and the web pages not dynamically generated
are refreshed on a nightly basis.

The data in REBASE consists in 39 files which are used by external
software such as PerlPrimer (distributed in Debian), EMBOSS (unofficial
Debian package), or Staden (unfficial Debian package). Packaging REBASE
will make it available to these progams and allow to update the data
without to update the debian package of these programs themeselves. The
packaging of REBASE is a first step towards a high-quality packaging of
EMBOSS, which is very important in the field of molecular biology and
bioinformatics.

I explained the upstream authors the difference between main and
non-free, and asked if they think that we can redistribute their data in
a dfsg-free manner, and here is their answer:

REBASE is free to its users and they may use the data however
they'd like, but when this use involves repackaging the data
and redistribututing it, the common courtesy we always provide
one another is to credit the source of this data.

Users expect bibliographical content showing the sources of
your material. This could be contained in a README file, or
a menu item, whatever.

So if you include a note such as -

 References:

  REBASE, the Restriction Enzyme Database
Dr. R.J. Roberts and D. Macelis
  rebase.neb.com

somewhere in your distribution, that's fine.

authors make in writing HTML documents. NekoHTML adds missing parent
elements; automatically closes elements with optional end tags; and
can handle mismatched inline element tags.

2006-08-14 Thread Jose Carlos Medeiros

Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

I havent more time to mantain this package. If you want , get free to take it.
Description below:

+ Creates XML files from data structures and vice versa.
+ XML_Serializer serializes complex data structures like arrays or object as
+ XML documents.
+ This class helps you generating any XML document you require without the need
+ for DOM.
+ Furthermore this package can be used as a replacement to serialize() and
+ unserialize() as it comes with a matching XML_Unserializer that is able to
+ create PHP data structures (like arrays and objects) from XML documents, if
+ type hints are available.
+ If you use the XML_Unserializer on standard XML files, it will try to guess
+ how it has to be unserialized. In most cases it does exactly what
you expect it
+ to do.
+ Try reading a RSS file with XML_Unserializer and you have the whole
RSS file in
+ a structured array or even a collection of objects, similar to XML_RSS.
+ .
+ Since version 0.8.0 the package is able to treat XML documents similar to the
+ simplexml extension of PHP 5.

Bug#366551: request-tracker package maintenance

Hi,

unfortunately, just a few days ago I came to the conclusion that I don't
really have enough time currently for committing myself to maintaining RT.
There have been a few other people interested (at least Toni Mueller,
Ivan Kohler and Tim Cutts), and I'm still hoping that the team gets
going, which is why I haven't cancelled my ITA quite yet. I'm planning
to wait until the weekend to see if somebody else from the prospective
Alioth RT team takes over the ITA. If nobody does, I'll have to retitle
it back to an O: bug.

AFAIK, nobody has yet looked into 3.6 packaging properly. I guess the
best help would be to take the current 3.4 package (or possibly the
never-uploaded 3.4.5 version at [1] that I prepared in June), upgrade
it to 3.6.1 and make it work :)

[1]
http://svn.debian.org/wsvn/pkg-request-tracker/packages/request-tracker3.4/trunk/

I'm Cc'ing [EMAIL PROTECTED],
the Alioth project mailing list. I still think an Alioth team would be a
good way to maintain RT, and I guess Toni Mueller or Ivan Kohler would
be happy to add you to the project. I'm CCing Toni, as I'm not sure if
he's on the list yet.

I'm also CC'ing the ITA bug (#366551).

Cheers and good luck,

Bug#383068: ITP: dynamips -- Cisco 7200 Router Emulator

2006-08-14 Thread Erik Wenzel
Package: wnpp

* Package name: dynamips
  Version : 0.2.4-0.2.5RC2
Upstream Author : Michael Sweet [EMAIL PROTECTED]
* URL : http://www.ipflow.utc.fr/blog/
* License : ?
Description : Cisco 7200 Router Emulator

Dynamips emulates Cisco 7200 Routers on a traditional PC. You can use
dynamips to create labs. It uses real IOS Images (which are not part of
this package). Of course, this emulator cannot replace a real router.
It is simply a complementary tool to real labs for administrators of
Cisco networks or people wanting to pass their CCNA/CCNP/CCIE exams.
For a Command Line Interface for dynamips see dynagen package.

Bug#383072: ITP: dynagen -- Cisco 7200 Router Emulator Command Line Interface

2006-08-14 Thread Erik Wenzel
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: dynagen
  Version : 0.4.3
Upstream Author : Michael Sweet [EMAIL PROTECTED]
* URL : http://dynagen.sf.net

Description : Cisco 7200 Router Emulator Command Line Interface

Dynagen is a text-based front end for Dynamips, that uses the
“Hypervisor” mode for communication with Dynamips. Dynagen simplifies
building and working with virtual networks:
o Uses a simple, easy to understand configuration file for specifying
 virtual router hardware configurations.
o Simple syntax for interconnecting routers, bridges, frame-relay and
ATM switches. No need to deal with NetIOs.
o Can work in a client / server mode, with Dynagen running on your
workstation communicating to Dynamips running on a back-end server.
Dynagen can also control multiple Dynamips servers simultaneously for
distributing large virtual networks across several machines.
o Provides a management CLI for listing devices, starting, stopping,
reloading, suspending, and resuming virtual routers.

Bug#330601: ITP: libiec61883 -- an partial implementation of IEC 61883

 Hi

 There is a reason:

 http://www.netfort.gr.jp/~dancer/column/libpkg-guide/libpkg-guide.html#naminglibpkg

Which says that the soname should be in the package name, thus
libiec61883-0 as on debian-multimedia is correct and libiec61883 not.

For the -dev package you could go with or without the zero in the
package name...

Severity: normal

I'm hereby orphaning the gtk-qt-engine package because of loss of
interest and free time. Not being a Debian developer has also made the
maintainership a bit troublesome for me.

I've asked the Debian developers I know if they were willing to adopt
the package, but I could not find anyone that was.

The software has some quirks (see the BTS) but upstream recently released
a new version (after a very long time of inactivity) that supposedly fixes
some things. Also, the package in Ubuntu has got some tweaks that could be
useful. It would be nice if the adopter had some GTK+ and Qt skills, but
it's definitely not a requirement.

Cheers,
