Package name: python-nanothreads
Version : 10
Upstream Author : Simon Wittber simonwittber at gmail com
URL : http://code.google.com/p/fibranet/
License : BSD
Description : cooperative threading framework

from the web page:

Fibranet implements a cooperative threading scheduler using
Python generator functions.

Generator functions are wrapped in a Fibra class, which allows
a thread to sleep, suspend and be killed. A Fibra can also
branch into a real OS level thread if needed.

FibraNet is designed for use in multimedia applications which
need to simulate concurrency, including games.

Note: The package would be very small. Maybe it's useful to
bundle this software with sth. related.

Bug#399305: ITP: subversive -- The Subversive is a Eclipse plug-in that provides Subversion support

Out of curiosity, is this incompatible with subclipse?

Compatibility is not the question. It is clearly inferior. For one, it
has no support for JavaHL. At least everything I can find on the
upstream web site indicates that it only supports JavaSVN. Anyhow, what
this means is that the only way to make use of ssh keys is by providing
your passphrase every time or by having it stored in plain text on your
hard drive.

This is because JavaSVN has no way to communicate to an ssh-agent. I
have emailed the JavaSVN developers about it. AFAIK they have no
intentions of trying to support ssh-agent because it is either not
possible or too hard with JavaSVN.

This means that if you want to use your svn+ssh repo in half-way secure
fashion, you can't with this plugin. Probably better to stick with
subclipse.

Regards,

-Roberto

Description : security extension for php

Suhosin is an advanced protection system for PHP installations. It was
designed to protect servers and users from known and unknown flaws in PHP
applications and the PHP core. Suhosin comes in two independent parts, that
can be used separately or in combination. The first part is a small patch
against the PHP core, that implements a few low-level protections against
bufferoverflows or format string vulnerabilities and the second part is a
powerful PHP extension that implements all the other protections.

Description: classic falling block puzzle game

In Angry, Drunken Dwarves, you are an angry, drunken dwarf. Why are
you so angry? Who knows. But you've decided to take your aggression
out on other dwarves, by dropping gems on their heads. Lots of gems.

Angry, Drunken Dwarves works similarly to the popular Puzzle Fighter
arcade game. The goal of the game is to build large gems by matching up
colors, then break them, raining more gems down onto your opponent.
The first person whose field fills up, loses.

Features include four levels of AI, seven characters, two player support,
an original soundtrack, and several unlockable game modes.

(I've had this game waiting for the Pygame 1.7 upload for almost a year.
Finally, I can release it.)

Hi all,

I'm starting a new fulltime job, which will leave me with less
time to work on these packages (at least initially).

The loop-AES packages (-source, -utils, -modules) usually
don't require large amounts of attention, but there are a few
decisions about big changes in the packaging that I'd like to
discuss and scrutinize together with a co-developer. The modules
and -utils are used in d-i (as part of partman-crypto) and
sometimes need work to do timely updates to a newer kernel
version. Integration with linux-modules-extra-2.6 is another
topic and I'm sure there are many other improvements possible.
Plus, I think it's always good to have another brain and
pair of eyes for peer review. :-)

Anyways, please get in touch with me if you are interested in
co-maintaining any or all of them.

cheers,
Max

loop-aes-source was removed from the archive. I'm therefore closing
the related RFH bug.

  Programming Lang: Python
Description : Read and manipulate RFC822-like files (e.g. .dsc and
.changes)

deb822 abstractifies the RFC822 format used in Debian's control files. You
can use a deb822 object like a Python dictionary, referring to control fields
 as dictionary keys.
 .
deb822 also has some convenient features that arespecific to Debian's .dsc
and .changes files. It was originally written for the packaging of
SystemImager, in order to merge multiple .changes files. It can also give
you a list of all the files mentioned in a control file in a convenient form.

Naturally, the binary package would be named python-deb822. This is a
polished version of dannf's deb822.py module he uses for SystemImager
packaging and for kernel.debian.net's archive. We agreed that it should
be Debian-native, and that I could maintain the package. (I'm not sure
if an ITP is technically required for Debian-native packages, but I'm
submitting this to be safe, and to get feedback.)

The URI above is actually a bzr (Bazaar-NG) branch. Note that the
working tree doesn't automatically get updated, so the files you see
there when using a web browser may be out of date. To check out the
current source, please use bzr:

 $ bzr branch http://free.linux.hp.com/~jswright/deb822/trunk deb822

It's just about ready to be uploaded. If you have any suggestions
before then, please let me know. A link to a bzr branch would be
preferred for code changes, but a diff is, of course, welcome.

Thanks,
John Wright

Description : full virtualization on x86 hardware

KVM (for Kernel-based Virtual Machine) is a full virtualization solution for
Linux on x86 hardware. It consists of a loadable kernel module (kvm.ko) and a
userspace component.

Using KVM, one can run multiple virtual machines running unmodified Linux or
Windows images. Each virtual machine has private virtualized hardware: a
network card, disk, graphics adapter, etc.

Bug#399427: ITP: libgeo-helmerttransform-perl -- Perform transformations between geographical coordinates in different datums

  Version : 1.11
Upstream Author : Chris Lightfoot [EMAIL PROTECTED]
* URL : http://search.cpan.org/dist/Geo-HelmertTransform/
* License : Dual GPL/Artistic
  Programming Lang: Perl
Description : Perform transformations between geographical coordinates in
different datums

It is usual to describe geographical points in terms of their polar
coordinates (latitude, longitude and altitude) referenced to a datum
ellipsoid, which is used to approximate the Earth's geoid. The
latitude, longitude and altitude of a given physical point vary
depending on which datum ellipsoid is in use. Unfortunately, a number of
ellipsoids are in everyday use, and so it is often necessary to
transform geographical coordinates between different datum ellipsoids.

Two different datum ellipsoids may differ in the locations of their
centers, or in their shape; and there may be an angle between their
equatorial planes or the meridians relative to which longitude is
measured. The Helmert Transform, which this module implements, is a
linear transformation of coordinates between pairs of datum ellipsoids
in the limit of small angles of deviation between them.

Description : SimpleCGI protocol implementation for Ruby on Rails
SCGI Rails Runner is a complete implementation of the *Simple CGI*
protocol for Ruby on Rails as specified by the
 http://python.ca/nas/scgi/protocol.txt specification. SCGI is similar
to FastCGI except that it is much simpler to implement and is
actively maintained by the original author. The primary advantages of
SCGI over the current FastCGI are:
 .
  * Completely pure Ruby yet still quite fast when compared with
FastCGI.
  * The core implementation (SCGI::Processor) is extensible for other
frameworks.
  * Systems other than Rails can use the library to implement their
own versions.
  * An extensive control mechanism to let you start, stop, restart,
and reload even remotely.
  * Cluster management using the scgi_cluster tool.
  * Configuration file based so you can set options and start from
command line easily.
  * Runs on nearly everything with initial support for Windows.
  * Restarts and stops are graceful, with redirects to a /busy.html
page for clients during the shutdown phase.
  * You can set a throttle and max connections setting to reduce the
load an application puts on your system.
 .
This package is part of the Ruby library extras, a supplement to Ruby's
 standard library.

Bug#399305: ITP: subversive -- The Subversive is a Eclipse plug-in that provides Subversion support

2006-11-19 Thread Loïc Minier
On Sun, Nov 19, 2006, Roberto C. Sanchez wrote:
Compatibility is not the question. It is clearly inferior. For one, it
has no support for JavaHL. At least everything I can find on the
upstream web site indicates that it only supports JavaSVN. Anyhow, what
this means is that the only way to make use of ssh keys is by providing
your passphrase every time or by having it stored in plain text on your
 hard drive.

clearly inferior sounds a bit strong on this basis alone. I went
through the features described on the website, and some seemed to be
lacking in subclipse. And we don't have subclipse in Debian (yet).

I'm asking about compatibility because I am currenlty using the
subclipse plugin (and it is being packaged for Debian), installed
locally, but would like to switch painlessly to anything which appears
first in Debian and covers my basic needs.

Probably better to stick with
 subclipse.

Does it work if you load your keys (and type your passphrase) before
using JavaSVN? And if you have a graphical ssh-askpass installed?
