Are you requesting an official release of the uncompiled latex

No, I am not requesting such a release. The xmds-doc package in Debian

I'd like to take over this package. It's a shame that it was
in badly shape and not shipped with etch.
I'll look to see if it is better suited for volatile than main
(beta version, I mean).

Anyway co-maintainers are, as always, welcome; if Anand Kumria
(Cc:ed here) will come back, I hope we will work fine together.

I'm still in NM (I hope to get my account activated soon), so I
will need a temporary sponsor for this.

Ciao, Luca

Description: An editor for sound samples
Sweep is an audio editor and live playback tool. It supports many
music and voice formats including WAV, AIFF, Ogg Vorbis, Speex and
MP3, multichannel editing and LADSPA effects plugins.
 .
Sweep operates on various 8/16/24/32 bit PCM files. Other major
formats handled are GSM 6.10, G721, G723, NIST Sphere and DWVW
 .
Sweep contains filters and effects you can apply to sound. One
of its best features is scrubbing. The scrub tool provides
immediate audio feedback when jumping to specific portions of a file.
This is something you will appreciate if you are a DJ.
 .
Sweep also allows discontinuous selections, multiple views of a
sound sample and piano-style playback. Sweep has full support for
multi-channel files and for multiple levels of undo and redo.

This lets you check passwords against a HTTP server such as Apache.
 .
 This can be useful because:
  - most web servers supports lots of authentication mechanisms
(for example, Apache supports over 26)
  - HTTP can be transparently load-balanced
  - you can authenticate to a server anywhere in the world
(HTTP is generally accessible from behind firewalls)

Description: Perl extension for validating email addresses
Mail::RFC822::Address validates email addresses against the grammar described
in RFC 822 using regular expressions. How to validate a user supplied email
address is a FAQ (see perlfaq9): the only sure way to see if a supplied email
address is genuine is to send an email to it and see if the user recieves it.
The one useful check that can be performed on an address is to check that the
email address is syntactically valid. That is what this module does.
 .
This module is functionally equivalent to RFC::RFC822::Address, but uses
regular expressions rather than the Parse::RecDescent parser. This means that
startup time is greatly reduced making it suitable for use in transient scripts
 such as CGI scripts.

Description: library to determine DNS server vendor, product and version
Identifying individual nameserver implementations is based on borderline
protocol behaviour. The DNS protocol offers a multitude of message bits,
response types, opcodes, classes, query types and label types in a fashion
that makes some mutually exclusive while some are not used in a query
 messages at all.
 .
Not every implementation offers the full set of features the DNS protocol
set currently has. Some implementations offer features outside the protocol
set, and there are implementations that do not conform to standards.
 .
Amongst the servers it is able to identify are:
 .
  - VGRS ATLAS
  - BIND (v4, v8, v9)
  - eNom DNS
  - Incognito DNS commander
  - MARADNS
  - MS Server NT4/2000/2003

Description: remotely determine DNS server version
A nameserver basically responds to a query. Interoperability is an
obvious requirement here. The standard protocol behaviour of different
DNS implementations is expected to be the same.
 .
The realty is quite different though. fpdns uses a series of borderline
DNS queries to determine the vendor, product and version of a nameserver.

config-manager is designed to manage directory trees. The components of
a directory may be specified by a location from any of:
 .
  - Arch (tla, baz/bazaar)
  - CVS
  - FTP
  - HTTP
  - Subversion (svn)
  - Bazaar-NG (bzr)
 .
These directory trees are described by recipes (also known as
configs) and are typically used to build software although nothing
within config-manager prevents their use in, for example, web sites.

Bug#416605: boxbackup in debian

2007-04-15 Thread Reinhard Tartler
[cc'ing the ITP bug in debian, it seems that quite some ppl are
subscribed there]

Hi Jérôme,

As you surely have noticed, I intend to maintain boxbackup in debian as
an official package. I mainly took your packages as base, and fixed the
remaining lintian warnings. Nice work on the debconf'isation!

I have uploaded test packages at http://siretart.tauware.de/upload-queue
for public reviewing and/or testing. I would very appreciate it if you
could have a look at it and tell me if something important is missing.

According to Chris Wilson, there have been a few known bugs in
0.10. It would be great if someone could cherry-pick the changes from
the svn trunk, I'll glady incorporate them into my tree.

I'm maintaining the packages in bzr. You can browse the source package
at [1]. In order to get the history of my source package, use the
following command to get a copy of my branch:

apt-get install bzr bzrtools
bzr get http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~siretart/boxbackup/boxbackup.debian

I intend to upload my packages this week (maybe wednesday) to debian
unstable, unless someone raises objections. Please note that it might
take some additional weeks until it gets reviewed by the debian
ftp-masters and eventually enters unstable.

Happy hacking!

Bug#419474: ITP: mythtvfs-fuse -- userspace filesystem client for MythTV

2007-04-15 Thread Kees Cook
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Kees Cook [EMAIL PROTECTED]

* Package name: mythtvfs-fuse
  Version : 0.5.0
Upstream Author : Kees Cook [EMAIL PROTECTED]
* URL : http://outflux.net/software/pkgs/mythtvfs-fuse/
* License : GPL
  Programming Lang: C
Description : userspace filesystem client for MythTV

mythtvfs implements a human-readable filesystem on top of an existing
MythTV tree. It communicates with the MythTV backend to fill in the
recording details, so that recordings can be browsed easily with applications
that do not natively communicate with MythTV backends.

mythtvfs is based on FUSE (userspace filesystem framework for Linux),
thus you will have to prepare the fuse kernel module to be able to use it.

Bug#419493: ITP: libpam-blue -- PAM module which allows to authenticate with a Bluetooth device

2007-04-15 Thread Carlos Alberto

Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: libpam-blue
  Version: 0.1.0-1
Upstream Author: Hagen Paul Pfeifer [EMAIL PROTECTED]
* URL: http://pam.0xdef.net/
* License: GPL
Description: PAM module which allows to authenticate with a Bluetooth device

pam_blue is a dynamically loadable binary object for the PAM security
framework in Linux. It is presented as an extension for the common PAM
modules, gives the user the ability for authenticate via a
Bluetooth-compatible device like a cell phone or other bluetooth
dongles (e.g. epox-presenter). Due to the fact that a whole part of
the Bluetooth stack is implemented in hardware-side it is relatively
difficult to change the Bluetooth hardware MAC address which makes
this module more secure.

I've already begun my work in this package and I'll be ready to
contact an sponsor in a few days.

Thanks for your work,
Carlos
