Bug#425356: RFP: iwlwifi -- The iwlwifi project provides a driver which utilizes the new mac80211 subsystem for the Intel® PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection adapter.

Description : The iwlwifi project provides a driver which utilizes the
new mac80211 subsystem for the Intel® PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection
adapter.

The iwlwifi project provides a driver which utilizes the new mac80211 subsystem
for the Intel® PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection adapter.

In addition to using the new mac80211 subsystem, this project uses a new
microcode image which removes the need for the user space regulatory daemon for
this adapter. This change should help to simplify installation, development,
and redistribution of this driver package.

Forget my last sentence. xmlroff 0.5 is fit for unstable. The
new version compiles and runs fine on my amd64 etch box. It is
much easier to build than previous versions (0.3.x) and
generates PDF files from simple DocBook sources with
docbook-xsl. In contrast to the TeX based DocBook toolchains
(db2latex-xsl and dblatex) or FOP, using LTR (e.g. English) and
RTL (e.g. Hebrew) in one document works well.

You should definitely package ssaha2 (http://www.sanger.ac.uk/
Software/analysis/SSAHA2/), rather than the original ssaha, if the
licence will allow it. The original SSAHA is pretty much dead, and
SSAHA2 has new features enabling it to run well on much smaller
hardware than previously.

I'm going to send an email to Zemin asking him about it. I'll CC you.

at the university. I have packaged it, you can get it from

Unfortunately, I don't have the time to maintain this package, so I
won't upload it to the Debian archive. Anyway, the package and source
might be useful for someone else.

Bug#425409: ITP: linux-phc -- userspace interface to control the core voltage of processors

2007-05-21 Thread Armin Berres
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Armin Berres <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

* Package name: linux-phc
  Version : 0.2.10
Upstream Author : Fabrice Bellamy, Roman Schwarze
* URL : https://www.dedigentoo.org/trac/linux-phc/
* License : (GPL)
  Programming Lang: (C)
Description : userspace interface to control the core voltage of
processors

Linux Processor Hardware Control is a patch for the Linux kernel that
provides a userspace interface to control the core voltage of a computer
processor(s).
The main use of this interface is to lower the core voltage of a
laptop's CPU ("undervolt"). The goal is to reduce the laptop's
temperature so the cooling fan can safely run at a slower speed.
Another goal of undervolting is to reduce the power consumption of a
laptop and thus extend its battery lifetime.
Linux-PHC also adds additional built-in frequency/voltage tables to the
Linux kernel for some Pentium-M CPU models. This is particularly useful
for laptops with broken ACPI that can't use the speedstep-centrino
cpufreq driver at all.
Linux-PHC currently only supports the Intel Pentium-M class of
processors. The Intel Centrino Core duo/solo processors are also
supported but with some limitations.
The patch should work for kernels 2.6.15 - 2.6.21.

A first package can be found at

I'm searching for a sponsor -- if anyone is interested... :-)

Hi,

I have packaged enblend, and it is currently available in Ubuntu Feisty.
It has been patched so that it can build on 64-bit architectures. If
anyone is interested, the sources are at
http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/e/enblend and I maintain a
bzr branch of the debian/ directory (for Ubuntu and Debian) at
http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~ubuntustudio-dev/ubuntustudio/enblend
although that is yet to be uploaded with the latest sources. Your best
bet is to check out the mentors pool package.

I've just rebuilt the packages and updated svn to match so that we now
have:

fretsonfire - empty metapackage depending on fretsonfire-game and
fretsonfire-songs-sectoid
fretsonfire-game - the package formerly known as fretsonfire; recommends
fretsonfire-songs-sectoid
fretsonfire-songs-sectoid - the songs package; depends on fretsonfire-game

So, if you apt-get install fretsonfire you get a working setup with
songs. You can alternatively just install fretsonfire-game if you don't
want the songs.

svn is up to date both with working get-orig-source targets which
rebuild the tarballs appropriately. Since I'm removing one of the songs
from the songs package (as per debian-legal), both have .dfsg version
numbers.

Signed packages and source are at
http://mjj29.matthew.ath.cx/debian-upload/fretsonfire/ or they can be
built from svn.

This module provides functions that are the inverse of built-in perl
functions localtime() and gmtime(). They accept a date as a six-element
array, and return the corresponding time(2) value in seconds since the
system epoch (Midnight, January 1, 1970 GMT on Unix, for example). This
value can be positive or negative, though POSIX only requires support
for positive values, so dates before the system's epoch may not work on

Bug#423503: ITP: ttf-liberation - A set of free (GPL) fonts from Red Hat Inc.

2007-05-21 Thread Alan Baghumian
Hi,

I've already made the package:

http://technotux.org/dload/ttf-liberation/ (~ 10 days ago), but there is a
license problem with these fonts that prevents us to upload it.

Alan

Bug#421444: ITA

2007-05-21 Thread Martín Ferrari

Hi David,

I contacted Eric privately to adopt qc-usb, almost at the same time
you wrote the commentary to this bug.

I would rather not leave the package unattended while you're working
on the merge with the messenger project. So if it's fine to you, I can
adopt it now and if you succeed with the merge, I'll happily hand it
to you. What do you think?
