At first, I was not able to generate some source, I did it, then I
have other problems when trying to build the package. I'm still
working on it but don't have much time at the moment.

I'll try some more, then, I'll commit my changes and send a report to the bug.

Cheers,

About jsr107cache, I started some packaging, but it seems it needs
another lib, I have to file another ITP.

Description : A repository of optional extensions for The GIMP

This package will contain several plugins/extensions to GIMP, which are
imho useful for many people. The description will contain a list of all
contained plugins (and is far from beeing complete yet).
Most extensions are too small to be packaged into a package on their
own, that's why I want to package several of them into one package.
If you know an extension you'd like to see in this package, please let
me know by replying to this bug report. See http://registry.gimp.org/
for a list of existing extensions.

All extensions should fulfil the following requirements:
 * no special dependencies to libraries (except libgimp & co). I will
not include any extensions which need 30M of libraries as
   dependencies.
 * must work with Gimp 2.3 from experimental
 * must be under a DFSG and GPL compatible licence, of course. Several
plugins either don't have a licence at all or a not compatible one,
   unfortunately.
 * must be useful and create something that is not easily
   reproducible with 2 mouse clicks.
 * should be capable of handling images of at least 5000x5000 pixel
without running into memory issues or taking the whole night to
   finish.

Cheers,

Bernd

Description : efficiently compute time from local and GMT time

This module provides functions that are the inverse of built-in perl
functions localtime() and gmtime(). They accept a date as a six-element
array, and return the corresponding time(2) value in seconds since the
system epoch (Midnight, January 1, 1970 GMT on Unix, for example). This
value can be positive or negative, though POSIX only requires support
for positive values, so dates before the system's epoch may not work on
 all operating systems.

Description : a general makefile for the Objective Caml programming
language

Ocamlmakefile is a general makefile which allows a programmer to
create quickly custmized makefiles for a project written in Objective
Caml. Typically, a customized makefile consists of the definition of
a few variables, and an inclusion of the general makefile provided by
 this package.

Note: Currently, ocamlmakefile is part of the catch-all package
ocaml-tools. I intend to split off omalmakefiel from ocmal-tools,
as it was previously announced on the debian-ocaml-maint
mailing list.

Description : netfilter kernel modules derived from patch-o-matic-ng

This package provides source code for the following netfilter kernel extension
modules derived from netfilter.org's patch-o-matic-ng repository:
 .
   IPV4OPTSSTRIP
   ROUTE (IPv4 only)
   TARPIT
   ipv4options

 .
The modules in this package should be usable with the unmodified Linux
kernel and iptables packages included in Debian; they do not require extracted
Linux kernel and iptables source trees as part of the build process.
 .
Note that these modules are not included in the upstream Linux kernel because
they may be buggy or experimental and should be used with caution.

Bug#426374: ITP: klthemes -- Kdm & kde themes collection from the kde-look

2007-05-28 Thread Jabka Atu
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA1

Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

I intend to package a collection of Kde and Kdm themes taken from the
kde-look.org.
it will into to sections: contrib/kde and nonfree/kde:
allmost all the themes on kde-look web-site are GPL so i can put them
onto contrib/kde but there are few that are in BSD licence (for
example one that hold the BSD logo) so i should add them onto non-free.

I allready started working on version one (to learn how to do it in
the proper way) and it could be downloaded on
http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/contrib/k/klthemes/
for now it is version 1.004 .

in the second version i intend to create it in a better configuartion
(and ITP is actualy for it):
for each theme i create a small package that holds the name
klthemes-kdm-THEMENAME

im working on a script that will automaticly :
   extract to klthemes-kdm-THEMENAME(tar)
   create the proper configuretion file.
remove all executable flags (chmod -x *)
if licence is other then GPL it will create a
klthemes-kdm-non-free-THEMENAME

two meta(?) packages:

klthemes-kdm (will use depends to install all klthemes-kdm-foo).
klthemes-kdm-non-free

This plugin generates Number Place puzzles, so called Sudokus, and let you
 solve it.
 .
 A Sudoku puzzle consists of 9 x 9 cells subdivided into 9 regions with 3 x 3
cells. The rules are simple. There have to be the numbers from 1 to 9 in every
row, column and region. In the beginning some numbers are given. These cells
are painted with cyan background color. The aim of the puzzle is to find the
missing numbers. There is only one solution of a Sudoku puzzle.

Description : general watchdog for the linux operating system that

Das_Watchdog is a general watchdog for the linux operating system that
should be run in the background at all times to ensure a realtime process
 won't hang the machine.
 .
Das_Watchdog is inspired by the rt_watchdog program from Florian Schmidt,
but has some improvements over it:
 * It works with 2.4 kernels as well as 2.6.
 * Instead of permanently setting all realtime processes to run
non-realtime, das_watchdog only sets them temporary.
 * When the watchdog kicks in, an X window should pop up that tells you
whats happening (just close it after reading the message).

Bug#426489: RFP: phylographer -- Graph Visualization Tool

2007-05-28 Thread Charles Plessy
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

  Package name: phylographer
  Version : April 03 2003
Upstream Author : Alexander Kozik (mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED])
  URL : http://www.atgc.org/PhyloGrapher/PhyloGrapher_Welcome.html
  License : GPL
  Programming Lang: Tcl/Tk
  Description : Graph Visualization Tool

PhyloGrapher is a program designed to visualize and study evolutionary
relationships within families of homologous genes or proteins
(elements). PhyloGrapher is a drawing tool that generates custom graphs
for a given set of elements. In general, it is possible to use
PhyloGrapher to visualize any type of relations between elements.
Used in conjunction with tcl_blast_parser, PhyloGrapher can represent
the results of a BLAST search as a graph.
 .
  Homepage: http://www.atgc.org/PhyloGrapher/PhyloGrapher_Welcome.html

I just started to use tcl_blast_parser and PhyloGrapher today, and they
are useful tools to analyse BLAST biological sequence alignment reports
(BLAST is provided by Debian's blast2 package).

I think that phylographer would be an easy package to prepare. Maybe the
longest part of the work would be manpage writing. This is the reason
why I did not file an ITP: I already have a long queue of manpages to
write...

I would recommend to add the standalone script tcl_blast_parser to the
source package, and to distribute it as a separate binary pacakge (it
does not require a window manager, in contrary to PhyloGrapher). I am
enquiring about the license of tcl_blast_parser parser to its author.

http://www.atgc.org/BlastParser/Blast_Parser.html

I am quite confident that this pacakge would easily find a sponsor if
needed.

Have a nice day,
