 slack tries to allow centralized configuration management with a bare

Bug#429583: ITP: powerpc-dtc -- PowerPC kernel device tree compiler

2007-06-19 Thread Marc Leeman
There are already source and binary packages for a tool called dtc,
 you will have to rename this. Maybe ppcdtc?

In the logic of the kernel arch, it would better be have powerpc instead
of ppc :)

I'll rename the package to powerpc-dtc.

I was unable to understand what the software does from its
 description, maybe you could mention what a device tree is, what the
 formats are (raw, flattened/blob), how dtc relates to OF, why the kernel
 needs it (kexec?), etc.

ack. This serves me right for writing up an ITP when my significant other
is summoning me to bed.

Also, have you been in contact with Fredrik Roubert? He seems to have
 done Debian packages before.

Indirectly, he seems to be an extern in our company Barco. As with most
larger companies, the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is
doing.

There seems little point now, from what I have found, his diff is more
or less the same as what I've done in parallel.

 The weird thing here is that using Ubuntu's unofficial packages for second

 issue with my graphics card... Any ideas on how can I debug this?

 BTW, teleporting is working... Maybe it was a connection problem the other
 way.

Are the Etch packages built from the -1 or -2 version of 1.17? The main
change was using the default g++ instead of the g++-3.4 specified by
upstream.

As I understand it, the cafuego packages appear to just be the upstream
binary releases extracted to /opt and then put into a .deb, so they're
built with the non-free libraries, which might make a difference.

(Specifically, it could be an openJPEG problem... I also uploaded
openJPEG 1.2 which produces libopenjpeg2, you may not have noticed...)

(I haven't looked at the screenshot, mind you...)

Bug#429688: ITP: libpushmi-perl -- Subversion repository replication tool

2007-06-19 Thread David Bremner
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

  Version : 0.994.0
  Upstream Author : bradfitz [EMAIL PROTECTED]
* URL : http://code.bestpractical.com/project/Pushmi
* License : Apache 2.0
  Programming Lang: Perl
  Description : Subversion repository replication tool

Pushmi provides a mechanism for bidirectionally synchronizing
 Subversion repositories. The main difference between Pushmi and other
 replication tools is that Pushmi makes the slave repositories
 writable by normal Subversion clients.

Discussion:

Depends: libversion-perl, librunapp-perl, libsvn-core-perl, svk (= 2.0.0),
libapp-cli-perl (=
0.06), libyaml-syck-perl, liblog-log4perl-perl, memcached

This would need Runapp.pm, locally packages as librunapp-perl. I will submit a
seperate ITP for
that, all going as planned.

  Due to the recent removal of apache (including it's accompanied

 libapache-miniwiki-perl (dependency): libapache-mod-perl

As discussed in #320363, Apache::MiniWiki doesn't work with Apache 2
(for example, it uses Apache::Constants, which is only available with
mod_perl 1.x). Since it's also been orphaned for 6 months, I think we

Bug#384300: Could package without Xen

2007-06-19 Thread Jim Paris
Until the blocking Xen bugs are resolved, libvirt (and virt-manager,
etc) can be built without Xen (./configure --without-xen). It would
then still be useful for current Qemu/KVM users.

Bug#406335: 1.17 etch packages....

2007-06-19 Thread Rainer Dorsch

 Are the Etch packages built from the -1 or -2 version of 1.17? The main
 change was using the default g++ instead of the g++-3.4 specified by
 upstream.

 As I understand it, the cafuego packages appear to just be the upstream
 binary releases extracted to /opt and then put into a .deb, so they're
 built with the non-free libraries, which might make a difference.

 (Specifically, it could be an openJPEG problem... I also uploaded
 openJPEG 1.2 which produces libopenjpeg2, you may not have noticed...)

I updated the openjpeg packages, I do not know though if Marcos picked them.

Thanks,
Rainer

Well, it's still just a toy. It works sort of, but I didn't want to package it
yet, for Debian. Upstream shared the same thought, that affinity is not really
ready yet for a wider distribution.
I told upstream, that he can ping me, whenever he feels confident about
affinity, and I'd do the upload.

I have done an initial packaging, so if you're interested in that, I can easily
share that with you.

Cheers,
Michael

Sure, I can. But as I understood Paul, this is even further away from the

 Yes, I did.

Hmmm.try to summarize

1. The etch packages work for me not for you - points to a problem specific
to your machine

2. The ubuntu packages (which are the distributed binaries) work for you -
points to the Debian packages

Paul,

do you know if any of the dependencies allow several alternatives?

E.g. if java is required Marco could run a sun JDK, I could run gcj or
something like that.

Marcos,

could you try to run reportbug on slviewer to see the version of your
installed dependencies?

Thanks,
Rainer

The I noticed that we both depend on

I am surprised about the verison, I thought I compiled with gcc-3.4 (?).

Erm, by bad here. The screenshot was taken with your packages and

It is already in the archive and not specific to PowerPC only, please

Bug#427814: RFH: stfl -- structured terminal forms language/library

2007-06-19 Thread Michael Mende
Hi Nico,

packages are to be found at [0]. They are lintian clean. The example.rb,
example.pl and example.py do work. So I guess everything is okay.

I repackaged the whole thing. Hope you can live with that. Now there are
some more packages:

* libstfl-dev
* libstfl-perl
* libstfl-ruby
* libstfl-ruby1.8
* libstfl-ruby1.9
* libstfl-spl
* python2.4-stfl
* python2.5-stfl
* python-stfl

Please have a closer look at debian/control and debian/rules.

I also added myself to Uploaders: in debian/control. Feel free to remove
the entry if you don't like it ;-)
