Bug#429610: ITP: gbrowse -- The Generic Genome Browser from GMOD
Le Tue, Jun 19, 2007 at 09:57:17AM +0200, Christian Perrier a écrit : > > I suggest something like "generic genome browser" > The 'from GMOD' could go to the long description as I don't see much > value added by it. > Here, as 'Generic Genome Browser' sounds like a > brand|official|registered name, I suggest using quotes. Merci Christian pour ces commentaires. Actually, it is because I want to make clear that 'Generic Genome Broswer' is not a generic name that I put 'The' in front, just like I would put 'Le' instead en français. For the same reason, I added 'from GMOD' after. To make things more complicated, there are more genome viewers in the GMOD project. (see http://www.gmod.org/wiki/index.php/GMOD_Components) How about : "The generic genome browser component of GMOD"? In parallel, I could rename the package gmod-gbrowse for instance, pour enfoncer le clou (to make the point). Here is a revised package description: Description: The generic genome browser component of the GMOD project The 'generic genome browser' component of the Generic Model Organism Database toolkit (GMOD) is a combination of database and interactive Web page for manipulating and displaying annotations on genomes. Some of its features: * Simultaneous bird's eye and detailed views of the genome; * Scroll, zoom, center; * Attach arbitrary URLs to any annotation; * Order and appearance of tracks are customizable by administrator and end-user; * Search by annotation ID, name, or comment; * Supports third party annotation using GFF formats; * Settings persist across sessions; * DNA and GFF dumps; * Connectivity to different databases, including BioSQL and Chado; * Multi-language support; * Third-party feature loading; * Customizable plug-in architecture (e.g. run BLAST, dump & import many formats, find oligonucleotides, design primers, create restriction maps, edit features). . Bug#429872: RFH: foo2zjs
Package: wnpp Severity: normal Hi I would like to request some help with the foo2zjs package. At the moment, I do not have a printer to test the package with. Therefore, I would welcome a co-maintainer, or I would act as a co-maintainer. If somebody wants to take it over completely, he is also welcome. I can also sponsor uploads if needed. Bug#429873: RFH: kradio -- Comfortable Radio Application for KDE
Package: wnpp Severity: normal Hi I request assistance with maintaining the kradio package. Right now I do not have a working card anymore, which makes it hard to test it properly. I would act as the maintainer or the co-maintainer. I am also happy to completely give up maintainership, if that is required. I can also sponsor uploads if needed. The package description is: KRadio is a comfortable radio application for KDE 3.x with support for V4L and V4L2 radio cards drivers. . KRadio currently provides . * V4L/V4L2 radio support * Remote control support (LIRC) * Alarms, sleep Countdown * Several GUI Controls (Docking Menu, Station Quickbar, Radio Display) * Recording capabilities, including MP3 and Ogg/Vorbis encoding * Timeshifter functionality * Extendable plugin architecture . This package also includes a growing collection of station preset files for many cities around the world contributed by KRadio users. . As KRadio is based on an extendable plugin architecture, contributions of new plugins (e.g. Internet Radio Streams, new cool GUIs) are welcome. . Hi Noèl, I don't really understand your sentence. You have a package ready for a newer upstream release (which also has a new package name) or is there a new upstream release which has to be packaged and you want someone else to do that? In case of the second, I would volunteer for that project. :-) Regards, Mario

Bug#420557: RFA: cvsdelta
Hi Eric, I'm interested in taking over the cvsdelta package. Are you still looking for someone to adopt? My motivation is that I intend to apply for official Debian developer status, and am looking for a package to adopt as a way to get started on that path. Just so you have some info about me, here's a resume: http://redsymbol.net/resume.html It is very slightly out of date: I currently work at SnapLogic (http://snaplogic.org), where I write opensource software in (mostly) Python. I don't use CVS much now, but have used it enough in the past. As far as Ruby, I am certainly not fluent, but believe I know that lang well enough that I can maintain this package. -- Aaron Maxwell http://redsymbol.net Business Owners and Self-Employed: You're NOT Alone!
