Bug#431974: ITP: radiance -- Lighting Simulation and Rendering System
Package: wnpp Owner: Bernd Zeimetz [EMAIL PROTECTED] Severity: wishlist * Package name: radiance Version : 3.8 Upstream Author : Greg Ward [EMAIL PROTECTED] * URL : http://radsite.lbl.gov/radiance/index.html * License : The Radiance Software License, Version 1.0 BSD-style, http://radsite.lbl.gov/radiance/misc/license.txt Programming Lang: C Description : Lighting Simulation and Rendering System Radiance is intended to aid lighting designers and architects by predicting the light levels and appearance of a space prior to construction. The package includes programs for modeling and translating scene geometry, luminaire data and material properties, all of which are needed as input to the simulation. The lighting simulation itself uses ray tracing techniques to compute radiance values (ie. the quantity of light passing through a specific point in a specific direction), which are typically arranged to form a photographic quality image. The resulting image may be analyzed, displayed and manipulated within the package, and converted to other popular image file formats for export to other packages, facilitating the production of hard copy output. The current plan is to maintain the package in a team which is located at the Darmstadt University of Technology. We'll probably provide optimized packages for the different sub-architectures, similar to the packaging scheme used for ATLAS. -- Bernd Zeimetz [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://bzed.de/ -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#418269: marked as done (ITA: agg -- The AntiGrain Geometry graphical toolkit)
Your message dated Fri, 6 Jul 2007 15:41:47 +0200 (CEST) with message-id [EMAIL PROTECTED] and subject line Closing AGG ITA has caused the attached Bug report to be marked as done. This means that you claim that the problem has been dealt with. If this is not the case it is now your responsibility to reopen the Bug report if necessary, and/or fix the problem forthwith. (NB: If you are a system administrator and have no idea what I am talking about this indicates a serious mail system misconfiguration somewhere. Please contact me immediately.) Debian bug tracking system administrator (administrator, Debian Bugs database) ---BeginMessage--- Package: wnpp Severity: normal I intend to orphan the agg package. The package description is: Anti-Grain Geometry (AGG) is a general purpose graphical toolkit written completely in standard and platform independent C++. It can be used in many areas of computer programming where high quality 2D graphics is an essential part of the project. . This package contains the development files for building applications using agg. I originally packaged agg for OpenOffice.org (for using it instead the agg shipped with it) but then it turned out that agg was just included for internal [Sun] reasons and not used yet so I lost interest. And since agg 2.5 now became GPLed OOo can't use a new version anyway, so.. If you want to maintain agg, I've started packaging agg 2.5 (note I enabled the shared libraries; it would be wise whether the ABI changed between ((2.3 and 2.4) and 2.5) and to decide whether you really want that) Upstream doesn't support shared linking out-of-the-box and doesn't care about SONAMEs either. Be warned. My temporary agg 2.5 package(s) can be found at http://people.debian.org/~rene/agg/. Bug#432027: RFA: ipmitool -- utility for IPMI control with kernel driver or LAN interface
Package: wnpp Severity: normal I've concluded that I need to reduce the number of packages I maintain, and offer the ipmitool package for adoption. I lack the hardware to test it, and it could use a caring hand. It is a tool to extract hardware status from computers providing the IPMI interface (mostly Intel servers). This is the full package description: Description: utility for IPMI control with kernel driver or LAN interface A utility for managing and configuring devices that support the Intelligent Platform Management Interface. IPMI is an open standard for monitoring, logging, recovery, inventory, and control of hardware that is implemented independent of the main CPU, BIOS, and OS. The service processor (or Baseboard Management Controller, BMC) is the brain behind platform management and its primary purpose is to handle the autonomous sensor monitoring and event logging features. The ipmitool program provides a simple command-line interface to this BMC. It features the ability to read the sensor data repository (SDR) and print sensor values, display the contents of the System Event Log (SEL), print Field Replaceable Unit (FRU) inventory information, read and set LAN configuration parameters, and perform remote chassis power control. At the moment the package contain 7 bugs, one of the RC (missing kernel header). It is written in C. Bug#432023: ITP: ll-core -- Core modules used by all ll- and other modules
ll-core is a collection of the following modules: I suggest explaining what is ll-...:-) not sure if I want to advertise for livinglogic in a package description, and it wouldn't rise the value of information. It doesn't say anythign really useful, as Stefano stated, but I have no idea how to summarize the long description into a good short one. The modules in the package are not only useful for the modules written by livinglogic, but also for the normal user/coder. Upstream suggests LivingLogic base package: ansistyle, color, make, sisyphus, xpit, url in the PKG-INFO file, but that line will wither be outdated or too long with the next update. What about something like Base modules for software created by LivingLogic but imho the value of information is still pretty low.
