Bug#422660: a review is needed for moap
On Tue, Aug 07, 2007, Marc-André Lureau wrote: !4) The full license grant is required; it's the text you can find in upstream source files which states I'm giving you permission to use these sources under the GPL, you should have received etc. Ok. I think I will have to fix this again in vala :( - this was not clear for me. Looks good now; was also fixed in vala by Kumar. !6) Either use DEB_PYTHON_SYSTEM / CDBS support in rules or call dh_pysupport manually, but not both. Ok. I have to call it manually, since moap is using autotools (right?) Correct. !7) Please drop the debian/source.lintian-overrides file; it hides a real error. Oups! I really thought it was included in the dist (I checked, but anyway, my bad) Debian generate it.. does that means that I have to patch make distclean? IIRC, this was because the upstream tarball contained a .svn dir; all you have to do is open an upstream bug about it, and if you like you can attach a patch. !9) Since you're not using a patch series, please name your patch starting with an index so that you can later on insert patches before or after this patch; for example name it debian/patches/60_remove-doc-from-distclean.patch. Did you send it upstream? It would be cool to use/understant quilt. It seems to be popular nowadays. Any pointer? I'm fond of quilt myself, but I do hear people complaining it's a bit hard to use; it's trivial to integrate in CDBS packages (like any patch system actually), and the best documentation is probably the quilt man page. I recommend you add this alias to your shell: alias dquilt='QUILT_PATCHES=debian/patches quilt' and add this .quiltrc to your $HOME: QUILT_NO_DIFF_TIMESTAMP=1 QUILT_DIFF_ARGS=--no-index --color=auto QUILT_PATCH_OPTS=--unified-reject-files #QUILT_PATCHES=debian/patches QUILT_PUSH_ARGS=--color=auto QUILT_REFRESH_ARGS=--no-index 10) You might want to run the testsuite on build. Unfortunately, it does not pass without bleeding edge. I know Thomas has been working on improving this situation. What you can do is run the testsuite and ignore its failures; it will help you see whether the testsuite regresses over time (new failure after an upload) and across architectures as you'll be able to read build logs with testsuite logs for all uploads and all architectures. 11) You might want to patch Ubuntu specific strings to add a Debian flavor. Which one? I noticed this in the util/deps.py file which produces help messages when some packages need to be installed; I recommend you grep for Ubuntu across the full source though. -- Loïc Minier

Bug#436450: RFH: mol -- The Mac-on-Linux emulator
Package: wnpp Severity: normal Hi The Mac-On-Linux packages are formally team maintained, but actually I'm the only active maintainer and my time is quite limited. This is why it took quite long to prepare the long overdue update to support the latest kernels. I would be glad to welcome some more members to the pkg-mol team. The packages are maintained in the alioth repository on http://svn.debian.org/wsvn/pkg-mol Source tarballs (repackaged and original) are available from http://pkg-mol.alioth.debian.org/ If you need help or have further questions, feel free to ask on [EMAIL PROTECTED] This is a small TODO list from the top of my head: - check configure options we could activate (especially pci-proxy support and debugger support) - better support for running linux inside mol (probably this is currently broken, guest side drivers are not packaged for debian, sources are in the old mol bk archive, snapshot at http://pkg-mol.alioth.debian.org/bk_checkouts/bk_checkouts.tar.bz2) - fix building mol twice in a row (double compilation support release goal!) - check and possibly package new gui frontend (svn module mol-gui at mac-on-linux.sf.net) - write missing manpage for mol-img - ... Gaudenz The package description is: . Mac-on-Linux is a virtual machine capable of running GNU/Linux, Mac OS and Mac OS X on most Debian/PowerPC machines. In contrast to an emulator, Mac-on-Linux runs natively on the processor, i.e. it is very fast. . This package contains the emulator itself. In order to actually use it, you need kernel modules from an mol-modules package built against your kernel version (if you can't find pre-packaged ones, build your own from the mol-modules-source package). Also, you will need a mol-drivers package that supports the operating system you wish to run on the virtual machine. At the time of this writing, there are driver packages for Linux, Mac OS 9 and earlier, and Mac OS X. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: powerpc (ppc) Kernel: Linux 2.6.22-1-powerpc Locale: LANG=de_CH.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=de_CH.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Hi, This is a small TODO list from the top of my head: - check configure options we could activate (especially pci-proxy support and debugger support) - better support for running linux inside mol (probably this is currently broken, guest side drivers are not packaged for debian, sources are in the old mol bk archive, snapshot at http://pkg-mol.alioth.debian.org/bk_checkouts/bk_checkouts.tar.bz2) I also host these on the MOL project page. Additionally, there is a port to 2.6, (originally done for 2.6.8), but it's not currently working properly. This is on my list of things to do. - fix building mol twice in a row (double compilation support release goal!) Can I have more details on this? What's the problem? - check and possibly package new gui frontend (svn module mol-gui at mac-on-linux.sf.net) The frontend isn't ready for general use yet. Once it is, it will be packaged with MOL. - write missing manpage for mol-img I'll happily take a patch for a manual page for mol-img. Thanks for keeping MOL updated for Debian. Please let me know if you have any questions regarding MOL and I'll try to help out as much as possible. -Joe -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? I ended up building my own tp-smapi kernel module package... oh well, I have only myself to blame... serves me right... S*** happens ;) You can find my latest package at http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/t/tp-smapi/ it's 0.31 though, did not yet have time to do 0.32, as it needs some more look. In any case, are you still interested in maintaining a kernel module source package for this? If so, I'd be happy to take a look at your package and sponsor you. Yes I am still interested. As soon as I will package 0.32 I'll mail you, so you can have a look at the newest package (this should remove some of the dpatch crap for the Makefile which is in 0.31). Hello, Any progress on this? I'd like to get this in the archive sometime soon. --Joe PS - Are you interested in going through NM and becoming a DD? -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe.
