Bug#438092: ITP: pdb2pqr -- An automated pipeline for the setup, execution, and analysis of Poisson-Boltzmann electrostatics calculations

2007-08-16 Thread Manuel Prinz
Hi Daobing,

I just noticed your ITP. I filed one myself a while ago (#416269) and am
working on that. It turned out that there are several issues that have
to been worked out first. I'm also new to packaging, so the progress was
rather slow but I hope I'll finish it soon.

If you're interested, I'd like to join forces here. I can give you
access to my repository where I currently maintain the package. At least
we should merge the ITPs into one.

Best regards
Manuel

Their web page says:

Our project is a stabilization effort on the GNU libc thread
library NPTL (Native POSIX Thread Library). We provide a
library-level trace tool for the NPTL. This tool aims to help
users to analyze and understand correction and performance
problems. It shows when a program calls NPTL routines and when
it exits from them, with details about the internal mechanisms
of the library. The trace can be analyzed once the problem has
appeared and the application has stopped. It is a post mortem
analysis.

Blobwars II: Blob and Conquer is the second episode of Blobwars: Metal Blob
Solid. It's now in 3D.

With the apparent defeat of Galdov and the reclaiming of the Fire, Time, Space

many Blobs and fought many battles, but now he had an ever bigger task ahead of
him. The Blobs' homeworld is still littered with the alien forces and Bob once
again makes it his task to lead the counter attack. But even without Galdov the
aliens are still extremely well organised...

Windows Script Decoder

The Windows Script Encoder (screnc.exe) is a Microsoft tool which can be
used to encode your scripts (i.e. JScript, ASP pages, VBScript). Yes:
encode, not encrypt. The use of this tool is to be able to prevent
people from looking at, or modifying, your scripts. Microsoft recommends
using the Script Encoder to obfuscate your ASP pages, so in case your
server is compromised the hacker would be unable to find out how your
ASP applications work.

The Windows Script Decoder is a tool that which can be used to decode
all scripts that have been encoded with the Windows Script Encoder.

Please note that this program was originally written to demonstrate the
ease of a cryptoanalysis attack against a tool like the Windows Script
Encoder. Nowadays, script encoding is used often to hide malicious
scripting commands and the script decoder can be very useful to uncover
the original code. It's also useful when debugging encoded scripts.

Description : incremental archiving tool to CD/DVD

sync2cd is an incremental archiving tool. It allows backing up
complete filesystem hierarchies to multiple backup media
(e.g. CD-R). Files are archived incrementally, i.e. only new or
changed files are stored during an archive operation.

All entity types are supported: directories, files, symlinks, named
pipes, sockets, block and character devices. Ownership and
permissions can be saved and restored.

sync2cd does not use any archive formats (like dar or tar) or
compression: it just writes the files to CD. This gives maximum
transparency on the archive media: you don't need sync2cd to restore
your data (although it helps), and the media contents can be easily
cataloged.

Your ITP wnpp bug is being closed because of the following reasons:
- It is, as of today, older than 365 days.

mass closing and not let people know that they can easily reopen
their bugs ;-).

as JPEG images). This is useful to correct images from a digital
 camera with CCD defects.
 .
Jpegpixi tries to preserve the quality of the JFIF image as much as
possible. Most graphics programs decode JFIF images when they are
loaded, and re-encode them when they are saved, which results in an
overall loss of quality. Jpegpixi, on the other hand, does not decode
and re-encode the image, but manipulates the encoded image data. In
doing so, it also preserves EXIF metadata.

Bug#438446: O: mod-xinerama-for-ion -- Xinerama support for the Ion3 window manager

2007-08-16 Thread Mike O'Connor
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

I intend to orphan the mod-xinerama-for-ion package. I no longer use
ion3 and therefore, no longer use this ion3-addon.

The package description is:
mod_xinerama is a module for the Ion3 window manager which adds
support for the Xinerama extension to the X Window System. This
support was previously integrated with ion3, but was removed from the
ion3 codebase by the upstream author, and is no longer supported by the
 upstream author
