Didn't that GR fail? http://www.debian.org/vote/2006/vote_004 There's no need for a resolution to decide that executable machine code - whether or not you call it firmware[1] - is software. The relevant GR is 2006-007, which decided against making a permanent exception for firmware in the kernel. [1] The term firmware should apply only to software that is installed in non-volatile memory such as ROM or flash, which Debian does not need to distribute. What we're talking about here is software for peripheral processors. Otherwise, I have an almost ready package here: http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/t/tbb20/tbb20_20070719-1.dsc Sorry, got lost in the noise and mountain of work. tbb is an interesting package. I have no problem with co-maintaining it as I do not have the expertise with it. I've attended Intel's Threading Building Blocks webinars earlier this year - my only knowledge of tbb :) It does have some very promising aspects in many applications together with other thread tools from Intel (ie. the non-free ones!) If you would like, I can sponsor this package for you. You may reply to this email in private. Sincerely, Adam -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble?
