Bug#203118: Are you insecure?

2007-10-12 Thread Johanna Soto

Life changing herbal pills, just a few clicks away

Be careful of cheap imitations

People judge your dick size by your shoes size.

NO negative side effects

With Xtra Size+ you dont have to wear
bigger shoes to make women think you have a huge dick.

Paris Hilton likes them big

You can actually have it.

File::Next is an iterator-based module for finding files. It's
lightweight, has no dependencies, runs under taint mode, and puts your
program more directly in control of file selection.

It's taken heavily from Mark Jason Dominus' excellent book "Higher
Order Perl". http://hop.perl.plover.com/

Description : Plugin for Pidgin which displays the current music track in
your status

MusicTracker is a plugin for Pidgin (previously known as Gaim) which
displays
the music track currently playing in the status message of various
accounts
such as AIM, Yahoo, MSN, Gtalk (Jabber), etc., i.e. any protocol Pidgin
 supports custom statuses on.

 Features
  * Currently supported players: Amarok, Rhythmbox, Audacious, XMMS,
  * MPC/MPD,
Exaile, Banshee, Quod Libet on Linux.
  * Allows you to customize the status string with various fields
  * extracted
from your media player such as artist, album, track, duration,
progress bar,
  etc.
  * Works around Pidgin's lack of support for MSN status messages by
  * using
  the nickname instead.
  * Different status messages for various media player states such as
  Playing, Paused and Stopped.
  * Supports per-account status format customization.
  * Optional Profanity filter for words in the status.

Description : a tool like grep, aimed at programmers with large trees
of heterogeneous source code

- Searches recursively through directories by default, while ignoring .svn,
CVS and other VCS directories.
- It ignores most of the crap you don't want to search: VCS directories,
blib, the Perl build directory, backup files like foo~, binary files..
- Lets you specify file types to search, as in --perl or --nohtml.
- File-filtering capabilities usable without searching.
- Color highlighting of search results.
- Uses real Perl regular expressions, not a GNU subset.

And more!

Glipper is currently my package in Debian at 0.95.1-3 and that version
is written in C and uses a binary data file which has raised one bug
(#436078).

There is now a new release that closes this bug, my problem is that
v1.0 is a ground-up rewrite in Python! Essentially, glipper v1.0 is a
completely different package internally. (Previous translations have
also been lost.)

I have no python experience, no python packages and no ability to do
anything if (when) python code goes wrong. I don't want to have to
learn python just for glipper (don't have time).

So - I don't see what I can do except request adoption of glipper, it
just seems so weird to leave a package which is active while I am also
active.

Anyone fancy taking on glipper?

I don't think there's any point retaining the old C package - that code
is already dead upstream.

Currently, there is no RCS for the debian packaging for glipper - I was
using CDBS and the current watch file needs editing to look for a
tar.bz2 instead of the previous tar.gz.

There is an issue with migrating from 0.95.1 to 1.0 - the ~/.glipper
directory needs to be removed.

Glipper v1.0 is also now GNOME only, support for other window managers
has not been implemented in the python version.

Description : data structure library for OCaml

The OCaml Reins data structure library consists of the following
persistent implementations:
 * Lists (singly, O(1) catenable, Acyclic doubly linked, random access)
 * Sets/Maps (AVL, Red/Black, Patricia, Splay)
 * Heaps (Binomial, Skew-Binomial)

All of the implementations conform to a unified signature for each data
type. Also, each data types include zipper style cursor interfaces and
persistent, bi-directional cursor based iterators. The library also
includes a set of standard modules to hoist the base typs into the
module level (Int, Bool, etc...) as well as a collection of functor
combinators to minimize boilerplate (e.g., for constructing compare or
to_string functions). Finally, a quickcheck-like random testing
framework is included and each data type supports the necessary "gen"
function to generate a random instance of the type.

Bug#446446: RFA: k3dsurf -- tool for mathematical surfaces

2007-10-12 Thread Steffen Joeris
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

Hi

I request an adopter for the k3dsurf package.

The package description is:
K3DSurf is a program to visualize and manipulate Multidimensional
surfaces by using Mathematical equations. It's also a "Modeler" for
POV-Ray in the area of parametric surfaces.
 .
  Homepage: http://k3dsurf.sourceforge.net/

Popcon states 363 users and I guess that this package is really much
appreciated by some math teachers. Upstream is very friendly and
concerned about debian. It was a pleasure to work with him. At the
moment, there is still a problem (segfault) on amd64, which needs
debugging.

I would be very happy, if this package finds a new home and someone who
works together with upstream.

Bug#446449: RFA: dc-qt -- GUI frontend for the dc protocol

2007-10-12 Thread Steffen Joeris
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

Hi

This package really did a good job here and helped me a lot with my
local uni network. At the moment, I am using linuxdcpp though, which has
probably some more features. However, popcon states 196 users.
Please take good care of it, if it turns out not to be removed in favor
of linuxdcpp.

The package description is:
dc-qt is a qt front-end for the dctc program. dctc handles all
communication with dc hubs and clients, while dc-qt presents an
interface that has many of the features of the original directconnect
client, plus some really useful improvements.
 .
It is intended for peer-based file-sharing. In practise it works better than
gnutella and other similar systems as it allows dc hubs (servers)
administators to require clients to share specified amount of data. The
amount is usually based on type of client's connection and it is used not
to hurt or exclude anybody but to make file sharing "fair play".
 .
dc-qt is still alpha, so some care has to be taken - try it out!
 .

Hi
I request an adopter for the qliss3d package.
This is really a nice application and probably used by a few math
teachers around the world. Popcon states 81 users.
Please take good care of it.

The package description is:
Qliss3d is a tool that generates various Lissajous figures. It is
possible to rotate the figures and zoom into them. Also changing the
frequency and replay of the sinus sounds by the same frequency rate
 are implemented.
 .
In mathematics, a Lissajous curve (Lissajous figure or Bowditch curve)
is the graph of the system of parametric equations which describes
complex harmonic motion. This family of curves was investigated by

 Jules Antoine Lissajous.
Lissajous curves can be traced mechanically by means of a harmonograph.
