Description : Generic support for list-like structures in Haskell
The ListLike module provides a common interface to the various Haskell
types that are "list-like". Predefined interfaces include standard
Haskell lists, Arrays, ByteStrings, and lazy ByteStrings. Custom
types can easily be made ListLike instances as well.
 .
ListLike also provides for String-like types, such as String and
ByteString, for types that support I/O, and for types that can handle
 infinite lists.

Bug#446469: RFP: ruby-gnome2-doc -- documentation for the ruby-gnome2 library and API

2007-10-13 Thread Jon Dowland
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: ruby-gnome2-doc
  Version : 20071012 (nighly tarball)
  Upstream Author : Ruby-Gnome2 Developers
* URL : http://ruby-gnome2.sourceforge.jp/
* License : GFDL 1.2 with no invariant sections or front/back
cover texts
  Programming Lang: ruby / rd
Description : documentation for the ruby-gnome2 library and API

The ruby-gnome2 libraries (already present in Debian) have
their API documented in rd format. The "rdtool" package can
convert these into HTML, amongst other formats. I think it
would be very good to have API documentation in the
archive, so you can hack on ruby/gnome2 stuff offline :-)

The docs are provided in the form of nightly tarballs; some
synchronisation between the nightly used and the packaged
version of the library would be necessary.

Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

Hi

I request an adopter for the k3dsurf package.

The package description is:
K3DSurf is a program to visualize and manipulate Multidimensional
surfaces by using Mathematical equations. It's also a "Modeler" for
POV-Ray in the area of parametric surfaces.
 .
  Homepage: http://k3dsurf.sourceforge.net/

Popcon states 363 users and I guess that this package is really much
appreciated by some math teachers. Upstream is very friendly and
concerned about debian. It was a pleasure to work with him. At the
moment, there is still a problem (segfault) on amd64, which needs
debugging.

I would be very happy, if this package finds a new home and someone who
works together with upstream.

Cheers
Steffen

debian-user is already a high-traffic list. I don't think that one more
message per week makes a big difference.

I really like Kevins idea to send wnpp mails to debian-user as well.

Well, I don't mind helping out. So if you have no problems, I don't
mind co-maintenance.

But I would request addition of this application to the PAPT[1].

Thanks!

And while you're at it, please note the following:

1. Priority should be optional, I think.
2. I am unable to build it, since python-all is in 2.4.4-6 in Debian
and not 2.5-1.
3. The menu section results in a lintian warning. IMO might the
following mighe be a little more appropriate:
Applications/Data Management
4. Homepage is now to be added as a field.

I am not making these changes, as I don't want to override the changes
you've made without asking you. Feel free to disagree with me on these
suggestions, though.

Thanks!

recoll is QT-based. Pinot is gtk-based. That is reason enough for some to
choose one over the other.

You have depended on python-all. This may or may not be OK, but if it
works, it's fine.

You have not done this yet. I have attached the modified control file.

Also, you might want to remove the Ubuntu changelog to spare a few
lintian warnings. Rest of it seems fine.

Thanks!

Hi Roy,

I've just orphaned mercury, since the previous maintainer never answered
this bug. Feel free to adopt it if you are still interested.

Thanks for that.

I do still wish to adopt it (unless someone else gets impatient and wants to do it!), and upstream are OK with me doing
that - I'm still trying to find some time to focus on that for a bit.

Cheers,
Roy Ward.

Bug#411676: package adoption progress

2007-10-13 Thread Raphael Geissert
Hello Franz,

Has there been any progress in the adoption of this package?
I'm looking forward the new 1.4.x version so I can package a program.

If you are not interested anymore in adopting it, sending the following
commands to [EMAIL PROTECTED] should do it:

retitle 411676 O: geoip -- A non-DNS IP-to-country resolver library
thanks

Note that this is just a QA ping, I'm not interested in adopting it myself.

Bug#365469: will soon close old RFP

Hi all,

I was just browsing through the RFPs and, according to the project's
webpage, this project has been incorporated into Blender and is no
longer independently maintained. Thus, in the interest of de-cluttering
the RFP page, I will close this bug in one week if no one complains.

Christine

Bug#429226: Debian xmonad packages

2007-10-13 Thread A. Christine Spang
Hey,

I gave your packages a whirl since I'm an xmonad user and have just been
building in my home directory for the time being, and things seem to
work fairly well so far. I like how you've put in the thought to design
a package system so that users who want to customize xmonad (probably
most of them given the intended audience) don't have to abandon the
Debian packages.

One thing that seems vaguely sketchy to me is using ~/.xmonad/xmonad as
the default location for custom-built binaries. Dot directories are
intended for configuration, and it seems very weird to put binaries
there. I would prefer ~/bin/xmonad, personally. However, these are just
my personal thoughts.

Anyhow, I haven't done extensive testing but for the most part I like
what I see so far. :) Are you planning on packaging common xmonad
accessories like e.g. dzen2 and xmobar as well?

Cheers,
Christine

Package: mercury
Version: 0.11.0.rotd.20040511-5
Severity: serious
User: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Usertags: proposed-orphan

Hi,

While reviewing packages that were not included in Etch, your package came
up as a package that should maybe be orphaned by its maintainer, because:

* Several Release Critical Bugs
* Last Upload back in 2004

If you think that it should be removed from Debian instead of being orphaned,
please reply to this bug and tell so.

If you agree that it should be orphaned, sending the following commands to
[EMAIL PROTECTED] should do it (after replacing nn with this bug's
number):
severity nn normal
reassign nn wnpp
retitle nn O: mercury --
thanks

For more information, see
http://www.debian.org/doc/developers-reference/ch-pkgs.en.html#s-archive-manip
http://www.debian.org/devel/wnpp/

If you disagree and want to continue to maintain this package, please close
this bug, preferably in an upload also fixing the other issues.

Thank you,
- michael
