Bug#424719: ITA splint

2007-11-12 Thread Y Giridhar Appaji Nag
Hi Qingning,

I noticed that you filed this ITA more than 6 months ago but there
hasn't been much work after that. Would you be working on the package?
I triaged the bugs in the BTS and most of them can now be closed (I've
filed patches etc.) in a new upload.

If you are't too keen on adopting this package, I would like to adopt
it. In any case, I would be happy to co-maintain this package (maybe on
alioth). Please do let me know.

Cheers,

Giridhar

If new upstream is also packaged, this will leave only 2 bugs (#369264
and #171434) against the splint package.

Bug#450781: ITP: Plasmidomics -- gui for plasmid and vector map drawing with postscript export / debian-med

2007-11-12 Thread Robert Winkler
Hi Andreas,

I just uploaded plasmidomics02deb.tar.gz
http://www.bioprocess.org/plasmid/plasmidomics02deb.tar.gz to the URL
http://www.bioprocess.org/plasmid/ (at the very bottom), containing the
mentioned directory structure.

Please give me some feedback, if this is acceptable; otherwise please
specify your needs more accurately e.g. template/ needed information in
the copyright.

Concerning the descriptions I would go for:

Short description: draw plasmids and vector maps with high-quality graphics
export

Long description: Plasmidomics is written for easy drawing of plasmids and
vector maps for the use in theses, presentations or other forms of
publications. It natively supports postscript as output format.

Is this sufficient?

I'm sorry for any inconvenience, but it's my first .deb-packaging approach as
well as my first bug report...

Thank you for your kind assistance,

Robert

 Hi Robert,

 I admit that your software is on the radar of Debian-Med for a certain
 time (as I wrote to you on 4. December last year and also in

http://lists.debian.org/debian-med/2007/10/msg00150.html )

 It would be great if you would provide a tarball as I described in my
 mail (see URL) on your side. Moreover it would be great if you would
 find a short description like:

  Description: drawing of plasmids and vector maps

 followed by a long description that explains the features of the
 program in more detail.

 Kind regards and thanks for your interest in Debian-Med

  Andreas.

I request an adopter for the xxdiff package.

I'm orphaning the package since I'm not using it (I use vimdiff instead) and
since
I genereally want to shed responsability. The package is in good state IMHO,
it's
usable, nice and pretty mature and doesn't require much attention or
maintenance.
Upstream hasn't been very active for a while as well.

It has smaller issues with font handling though, that would be nice to look into
however seems to run fine on the vast majority of setups.

The package description is:
 A powerful tool for viewing the differences between two or three files,
 or two directories, and can be used to produce a merged version. The
 texts of the two or three files are presented side by side with their
 differences highlighted with colors for easy identification. Among its
 features are:
 .
  * can compare two files, three files, or two directories (shallow and
recursive);
  * horizontal diffs highlighting;
  * files can be merged interactively and resulting output visualized and
saved;
  * can unmerge CVS conflicts in automatically merged files and display
themi as two files, to help resolve conflicts;
  * fully customizable with a resource file;
 .
 The scripts that accompany xxdiff can be found in the xxdiff-tools
 package.

I sended a tarball like I would perhaps release it in private mail to
not bloat the list and BTS with binary chunks.

Concerning the descriptions I would go for:

Short description: draw plasmids and vector maps with high-quality graphics

vector maps for the use in theses, presentations or other forms of

I think so. You might consider to exchange high-quality (which we really
hope ;-)) by Postscript/PDF (what you feel apropriate and important). This
sounds more informative than advertising.

I'm sorry for any inconvenience, but it's my first .deb-packaging approach as
well as my first bug report...

No problem - you are welcome to do your first steps guided by our
community. We also ask for patience on your side if the advises
we are giving are not clear enough - just ask again until we find
a reasonable way to explain what we want.

Thank you for your kind assistance,

As I said - you are welcome

Daniel,

I'm guessing that you ran into the fact that debian/bin/gencontrol.py in
firmware-nonfree doesn't work with the current linux-support package.
Here's a patch that seems to fix that, and a patch that adds the
metadata for the Ralink firmware.

If you don't have time to commit and upload, please could you ask tbm
(or another admin) to add me to the kernel group on Alioth so that I can
do this myself.

Ben.

Bug#418808: New maintainer for uClibc

2007-11-12 Thread Y Giridhar Appaji Nag
Adopting uClibc would be a bit more complex than just packaging it.
Please see http://bugs.debian.org/438738#22 for details. That bug
actually requests removal of uClibc.

I intend to orphan the kalgebra package.

The package description is:
 KAlgebra is a mathematical calculator which uses the MathML
 language. Nowadays it is possible to perform simple MathML operations
 (arithmetic and logical) and create 2D and 3D graphs. It is
 actually not necessary to know MathML to use KAlgebra.
 .
 The Mathematical Markup Language, is an XML based language used for
 displaying mathematical notation and content, especially on the web.
 It is a World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) recommended standard, and has
 been receiving increasing support by mathematical software vendors.

Bug#451077: ITP: twisted-zombie -- Twisted Zombies game

2007-11-12 Thread Manuel Kaufmann
Package: wnpp
Version: 1.0
Severity: wishlist

* Package name : twisted-zombie
Version : 1.0
Upstream Author : Manuel Kaufmann [EMAIL PROTECTED]
* URL : http://www.zombie.firebirds.com.ar/
* License : GPL
Description :
Twisted Zombie is a game in which you have to twist a
Zombie to fit inside the spells of two wizards fighting
in the distance: one wants you as his lifetime servant
and the other one wants to put you to sleep the eternal dream.

You can take advantage of this fight to free yourself:
If you feed from the cloudy spells you could become a
happy human being again.

But beware! If you drink the red potions the spells
will vanish, but you could still benefit from other potions...
