Fixed. Use the above URL for update.

The following error is due to bug in lintian[1]. I'll be providing a
patch to Lintian, so ignore it for now:

Bug#453269: RFP: comprez -- Frontend to many compression programs

2007-11-28 Thread Jari Aalto
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: comprez
  Version : 2.4.0
  Upstream Author : Steve Kinzler <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
* URL : http://www.cs.indiana.edu/~kinzler/z
* License : GPL
  Programming Lang: sh
  Description : Frontend to many compression programs

(Include the long description here.)

 Comprez, aka 'z', is a simple, safe and convenient front-end for the
 compress(1), uncompress(1), gzip(1), bzip2(1), tar(1), zip(1) and
 unzip(1) utilities for compressing and uncompressing files and
 directories. See the included man page for full details.

 The basic idea behind z is that you can just run `comprez SOMETHING`
 where SOMETHING is any file, directory, compressed file or compressed
 archive, and program will do the right thing in a standard way.
 Simple for novices and convenient for experts. Great for unpacking
 downloads or compressing files to save space.

Does it document or otherwise handle the problem that it is unsafe to
work on not hold messages? The queue ids are subject of rapid reuse.

The timelimit utility executes a command and terminates the spawned process
after a given time with a given signal. A "warning" signal is sent first,
then, after a timeout, a "kill" signal, similar to the way init(8) operates
on shutdown.

Actually, I already have a pretty much ready package for the timelimit

* Package : yorick-z
  Version : 1.2.0
  Upstream Author : David H. Munro
* URL : http://yorick.sourceforge.net
* License : BSD
  Description : zlib, jpeg, png and mpeg support for the Yorick language

 This is a compiled add-on for yorick (an interpreted computer language
 specialized for numerical and scientific problems). Yorick-z adds
 support for zlib (the data compression system used by gzip), png (a
 lossless image compression format), jpeg (a lossy image compression
 format), and mpeg (mpeg1, a compressed video format). These are not
 supported in the basic yorick distribution, because each relies on a
 specialized library beyond what is required for basic yorick
 functionality.

 Note: MPEG support won't work out of the box.

I am packaging the new version of Yorick (2.1.02) which includes support
for plug-ins, as well as some of the available plug-ins. yorick-z is one
of them.

Hi Bastian,

no, but you're right, i will add a warning in manpage. Maybe it
should be useful too to add an option to put on hold a bunch of
emails.

I will add this for the next release of pmailq.

thx for your comments.

  Description : tree-based API for processing XML with Java

XOM is a new XML object model. It is a tree-based API for processing XML
with Java that strives for correctness, simplicity, and performance, in
that order. XOM is fairly unique in that it is a dual
streaming/tree-based API. Individual nodes in the tree can be processed
while the document is still being built.

sudo frontend for kde. The traditional kdesu, which also kind of
supports sudo is still broken some times. kdesudo is a sudo-wrapper.

commandline compatible with kdesu can replace kdesu by symlinking.

There is a package in ubuntu I might be inspired by.

  Description : external policy checker for the postfix mail server

 Tumgreyspf can optionally greylist and/or use spfquery to check SPF records
 to determine if email should be accepted by your server.

 Because of it's design, legitimate e-mail is never trapped or rejected.
 Only spam and viruses are caught. If you add tumgreyspf to your mail server
 (also compatible when using Spam Assassin, ClamAV, and an outsourced
 anti-spam system), your spam level will be dropped by an order of
 magnitude.

 Tumgreyspf uses the file-system as it's database, no additional database is
 required to use it.

I think the default mode should do:
- Check for match.
- Hold.
- Recheck.
- Do real action if match.
- Unhold if not.

Bug#436659: ITP: qttube -- graphical application to download videos from YouTube

2007-11-28 Thread Siegfried-Angel
Hi,

Thanks for your feedback. I applied your patch to my local sources and
commited a fix to let QtTube work with python2.4 (if you are
interested in it, the latest sources are available here:
https://code.launchpad.net/qttube).

I'm waiting to further work on the package until I finish version 0.2
(I just want to finish implementing a plugin system for file
conversion and release it then). I'll also probably rework some parts
of the package (such as converting to cdbs and replacing the manpage
with one in raw format).

Thanks,

Hi,

yes, I uploaded it as 0.2-2 to mentors. Is it okay to use gksu in
the .desktop and in the menu as the wrapper script for root permissions?

Just uploaded the latest development build - newilsp-9.2.7

There is one issue now: guiserver.jar is shipped precompiled (source
coode is included, but w/o make scripts) - does it matters?

'reopen' may be inappropriate when a bug has been closed with a version;
you may need to use 'found' to remove fixed versions.
Bug reopened, originator not changed.
