  Description : MIDI input plug-in for xmms / beep-media-player

AMIDI-Plug is a MIDI subsystem for XMMS/BMP/Audacious. It processes MIDI
files and sends their events to one of the available backends (currently
ALSA, FluidSynth, dummy).
With the ALSA backend, any hardware or software synthesizer, as long as
it provides ALSA sequences ports, can be used to play MIDI with
AMIDI-Plug. In example, AMIDI-Plug can send MIDI to the emu10k1 hardware
synth or to software synths such as timidity and fluidsynth.
With the FluidSynth backend, AMIDI-Plug accesses directly the FluidSynth
library for MIDI playback and sends the generated audio into effect and
output plugins of the player. More, the FluidSynth backend can be used
even on systems where ALSA is not available.
A dummy backend is also provided for testing and analysis purposes.
Playback is fully functional: play, stop, seek, pause, song information
are available.

AMIDI-Plug supports MIDI files in SMF (standard midi file) format type 0
and type 1, as well as RIFF MIDI containing SMF 0 and 1.

What are the difference with rsyslog which also aims at providing a pure

I have heard wonderful things about rsyslog, and I decided to look at it
hoping it would be sane.

Additionally, the author of rsyslog enjoys hungarian notation (as seen
in his code) which after having audited rsyslog is enough to make me not
wish to use it (this does not mean rsyslog is bad, it just means I do
not like it's design).

So I started writing dsyslog, which is free of legacy code and is
written in a style which is more agreeable to me.

Hi, what audio player is recommended for being lightweight, supporting
real-time priority (ie no playback problems under heavy load) and
supporting a large variety of formats? Perhaps I could interest the
xmms-amidi-plug author in writing a plug-in for such a player?

Anyway I've done with packaging libsylph :-)
 You can get it from

I know you are DD and maitainer of sylpheed and its releated packages

for me. If the package I've made will be helpful for you, I am so glad :)

Bug#463269: ITA: imms -- Unobtrusive, automatic, and learning XMMS playlist manager

2008-01-30 Thread Artur R. Czechowski
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

As we agreed in Norbert in private e-mails I will adopt the imms
package.

The package description is:
IMMS is an intelligent playlist plug-in for XMMS that tracks your
listening patterns and dynamically adapts to your taste.
 .
 Major features include:
 .
  - Rating and playlist adjustment are done completely transparently to
the user. IMMS is super easy to use!
  - Though IMMS will mostly play "good" songs, occasionally less popular
ones are given a chance to earn your favor.
  - IMMS does a better job of shuffling than XMMS.
It is able to recognize different versions of the same song (eg. remixes)
and not play them too often.
  - IMMS uses smart file identification that allows files to keep their
ratings even if they are moved and/or their tags change.

This is the GPL version of the full commercial game. It's stripped of
material that can't be GPL'd, but it's not a demo - it does contain all of
the levels and has no artificial limitations.

Much of the packaging work is already done. You can unpack the tarball
and type ./configure ; make debian-release (or use dpkg-buildpackage
directly) and, with a bit of luck, get a .deb at the end. The code is
64-bit and big/littleendian clean. The binary .debs built for the
commercial release are already available at mushware.com/x11 if you'd like
to take a look.

I am the upstream developer and available to support the packager, modify
the upstream, etc. You will need sound and hardware-accelerated 3D to
meaningfully test the build, and it does take about 15 minutes to compile
on a modern single core. Language is C++ and ruby.

Description : free software implementation for RAW decoding

libopenraw is an ongoing project to provide a free software implementation for
camera RAW files decoding. One of the main reason is that dcraw is not suited
for easy integration into applications, and there is a need for an easy to use
API to build free software digital image processing application.
.
It also has the goal to address missing feature from dcraw like meta-data
decoding and easy thumbnail extraction.

Description : A challenging Puzzle Game

MouseTrap is a challenging old-style puzzle game, involving you
collecting fruit and avoiding the enemy red dots.

The aim of the game is to eat as many of the white fruit pieces as you
can possibly manage before dying. Your reaction times will tested to
the limit!

The enemy (red) balls are limitted in their movements - they are
constrained to either move horizontally, vertically, or diagonally but
they will not change their direction.

Dodging the enemy balls becomes very challenging once there are a lot
on the screen at the same time. It requires as much thought as
reaction speed.

* URL:  http://search.cpan.org/dist/Vi-QuickFix/

Description:

If a Perl program or module uses Vi::QuickFix, Perl logs errors and
warnings to an error file. While editing that program or module with vim
you can ask Perl to compile it. If there are errors during compilation,
the error file is picked when you type a special QuickFix command and
Vim will jump to the location of the first error recorded. Other
QuickFix commands allow you to jump to other error messages, switching
files if necessary.

This module is intended as a debugging tool for Perl programmers using
Vim.

Bug#463350: libphp-serialization-perl

2008-01-30 Thread Peter Howard
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
X-Debbugs-CC: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

I need a Debian package of PHP::Serialization before I can update the
packaging of Zoneminder from 1.22.3 to 1.23.1 (1.23 introduces the
usage). Also, code in the existing package libdata-serializer-perl
appears to reference PHP::Serialization, which suggests that some of
it's functionality does not work without this module being packaged.

The details below come out of CPAN.

Package Name:libphp-serialization-perl
Version: 0.27
Upstream Author: Jesse Brown <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
URL:
http://search.cpan.org/~jbrown/PHP-Serialization-0.27/lib/PHP/Serialization.pm
Description: simple flexible means of converting the output of PHP's
serialize() into the equivalent Perl memory structure, and vice versa

Provides a simple, quick means of serializing perl memory structures
(including object data!) into a format that PHP can deserialize() and
access, and vice versa.
NOTE: Converts PHP arrays into Perl Arrays when the PHP array used
exclusively numeric indexes, and into Perl Hashes then the PHP array did
not.

Too long.

You should remove the reference to the license from the synopsis.
