 The synce-sync-engine source package will contain two binary packages:
 synce-sync-engine and opensync-plugin-synce.

sence-sync-engine is not opensync-specific, right?

 I'm just fighting 'msynctool --listplugins' to correctly report the
 synce plugin, and then I'll upload...

In that case, we should figure out how this is discoverable by users.
As all the other plugins are called opensync-plugin-foo, I fear users
might not find the synce plugin.

Mandrake apparently introduced a meta package (one for WM devices, one
for blackbarries, one for other mobiles) which includes all the packages
needed to sync that particular device.

Nope. The OS SynCE plugin talks to SyncEngine through D-BUS.

 In that case, we should figure out how this is discoverable by users.

Sorry, I don't understand. The OS plugin *will* be in a binary package
called opensync-plugin-synce.

 Mandrake apparently introduced a meta package (one for WM devices, one

Yes I've thought out this in the past but installing
opensync-plugin-synce should actually pull all the other deps, I think!

Dear Maintainer,

While reviewing some packages, your package came up as a package that
should maybe be orphaned by its maintainer, because:

* Severely outdated. (Last upload Dec. 2004).
* Not sure where upstream code came from. nazgul.mordor.com only has 5.05.
* Maintainer appears inactive.
* Low popcon. (45 installs).

If you think that it should be removed from Debian instead of being
orphaned, please reply to this bug and tell so.

If you disagree and want to continue to maintain this package, please
close this bug and do an upload also fixing the other issues.
Also, you can study the possibility of taking co-maintainers.

 Hi,

 what's the difference to Devel::DProf, bundled with the Perl core?
 The fact that the output file is human-readable?

That and that it works with XS modules, which DProf does not.

Incidentally, Joey Hess already packaged this and it is in NEW, so I
have closed the ITP.

Bug#474299: ITP: semantik -- mindmapping tool

2008-04-04 Thread Peter Eisentraut
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Peter Eisentraut [EMAIL PROTECTED]

* Package name: semantik
  Version : 0.6.4
  Upstream Author : Thomas Nagy [EMAIL PROTECTED]
* URL : http://freehackers.org/~tnagy/semantik.html
* License : QPL
  Programming Lang: C++, Qt
  Description : mindmapping tool

This is the successor of kdissert. The packaging is already available at
http://svn.debian.org/viewsvn/pkg-kde/kde-extras/semantik/.  The ftpmaster
rejected the first upload because the QPL was incompatible with the GPL, but
in fact the package does not link against anything under the GPL, so that
objection appears to be irrelevant. While that is being sorted out, I just
want to document that the package is being worked on.

  Description : A simple perl object base class

 Rose::Class is a generic base class for classes. It provides a single class
 method (error), but may be expanded further in the future.
 .
 A class that inherits from Rose::Class is not expected to allow objects
 of that class to be instantiated, since the namespace for class and object
 methods is shared. For example, it is common for Rose::Object-derived classes
 to have error methods, but this would conflict with the Rose::Class method of
 the same name.

 This plugin allows you to create a list of users and/or domains that should be

 ONLY help fight such attacks in the SquirrelMail interface, and should really
 be implemented in your mail system's authentication backend.

  Description : Net::SMTP with SSL support

Implements the same API as Net::SMTP, but uses IO::Socket::SSL for its
network operations. Due to the nature of Net::SMTP's new method, it is not
overridden to make use of a default port for the SMTPS service. Perhaps
future versions will be smart like that. Port 465 is usually what you want,
and it's not a pain to specify that.

Its dependencies are already in the archive so there's nothing else that needs
to be packaged.

I'd like if this module can be packaged so the bts command can make use of it.

TIA.

Sincerely,
Raphael Geissert

Bug#307786: RFS: rtirq -- Startup script for realtime-preempt enabled kernels

2008-04-04 Thread Philippe Coval
Hi,

Apparently 64studio and ubuntu are also on this package :

  http://apt.64studio.com/64studio/testing/pool/main/r/rtirq/
  https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntustudio/+bug/195033/

So let's reuse this else If you dont plan to package it please retitle
the bug to RFP status

Regards
