Bug#473128: ITP: openal-soft -- linux-port of the windows implementation of the cross-platform 3D-audio library OpenAL
I hope you don't mind, but I did some work on this package as well. Here's what I've done so far. [Andres Mejia] * Make the build output verbose. * Allow options passed to cmake to be overridable using DEB_CMAKE_OPTIONS. * Support nostrip option. * Build Release type libraries by default. * Support building of static libraries. * Added myself in Uploaders field. * Set libopenal-dev to depend on binary version. * Added new todo. Also renamed TODO to TODO.Debian. * Added README.Debian. The changes have been committed to SVN of course. I have some questions. Isn't there going to be a problem with having a binary package (libopenal-dev) in two source packages? Wouldn't it be better if this package replaced the old openal package? -- Regards, Andres -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Bug#473128: ITP: openal-soft -- linux-port of the windows implementation of the cross-platform 3D-audio library OpenAL
I did some testing with the new OpenAL libraries with ogreal. ogreal performs better on the new libraries then they do with the other ones. When I say perform better, I mean all the ogreal demos actually run (as opposed to some of them segfaulting). I think openal-soft should instead be named openal and thus be the new version of openal. Maybe we could upload a package to experimental first to start testing it. Could anyone provide a list of the reverse dependencies for openal? I would like to test a few more packages with the new openal libraries. -- Regards, Andres -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Bug#477340: Font Licensing
Hello Maybe you heard about Ubuntu or Debian GNU/Linux [1]. I am trying to package your fonts for those systems. But there's a little problem with the license wording. Would you mind putting your fonts into the Public Domain with a sentence like this: I place these fonts in the Public Domain. In jurisdictions where this is not possible, an equivalent licence is granted and all warranties are disclaimed. It would be best to put that on your homepages: http://james.kilfiger.googlepages.com http://www.interface1.net/fonts.html Yours, Gürkan [1] http://bugs.debian.org/477340 http://bugs.debian.org/477339

Bug#468918: status report
I've geotrans packaged, but the GUI is written in java, and it seems that only works with java-sun, so it should go to contrib instead of main, just because the free java are able to compile it but the interpreter is unable to run the application... I'm not a java guru, so if someone has any ideas I'd appreciate them. The package is almost ready to be uploaded, I need just a few more time to polish the packaging and to see if somebody gives me some idea about the java issue. If one test fails (e.g. follow the link to the admin page) then it's likely there will be many more failures. This module aims to alleviate this problem, as well as provide a nicer interface to Test::WWW::Mechanize. . The central idea is that of flow. Each flow is a sequence of commands (fill in this form) and assertions (content should contain 'testuser'). If any of these commands or assertions fail then the flow is aborted. Only that one failure is reported to the test harness and user. Flows may also contain other flows. If an inner flow fails, then the outer flow fails as well. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.18-5-xen-686 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=fr_FR.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=fr_FR.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Org-mode develops organizational tasks around NOTES files that contain information about projects as plain text. Bug#471990: not adopting
Note that the mesa package already contains the demo sources (and also the missing util directory). I think that a demo package should be build from the mesa package, and not be build from a separate source package. Members of the XSF told me on IRC that they do not see any gain in a demo package (the user could always fetch the source package). I won't adopt the package. Bug#470188: new milter-greylist package
This has been sitting forgotten in my 'drafts' folder for a long while now. I might as well hit send and let you see it. As you might imagine, I don't have much by way of free time, but small tasks are easy enough. I keep meaning to look into the formalities of becoming a Debian maintainer, but I never have the time. Cord Beermann wrote: As you pointed me out that there is v4 available now, so the next Package-release should be also v4, so maybe some of the patches provided by Michael in #470188 don't apply anymore, or are not needed at all anymore? Okay, I hadn't seen those patches. Everything I did was based on the 3.0-3 source package. Easily rectified: I just integrated the control patch. The milter-greylist.default patch, designed to address bugs #465260 and #460314, adds an extra bit of complication to the defaults file that I think is better implemented in the init script, so I'll ignore that patch. The rules patch also overlaps things I've done. I dislike the sed call, preferring to adjust the init script itself. I'll talk to Emmanuel about pushing that into the upstream. The watch patch dramatically changes things ... I'm content with Michael's version. The changelog will be interesting ... we've both independently addressed all of the bugs, so credit should be shared. Michael's changelog entries mentioned altering the debian/copyright file, but I don't see his diff for it. My modifications there simply update the copyright to the year 4.0 was released. As far as i can see, you both aren't Debian Developers (is anyone of you interested in becoming one?) so the way to get the updated package in, would be that you provide me the files for download somehow, and i check, sign and upload it. If you wish I add your name and address to the Package, so your work can be recognized. I'd like that opportunity, yes (especially if it will give me an @debian.org forwarding address). The website is a bit questionable about that process. There are some pages out there http://www.us.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/ch-controlfields.html#s-f-Uploaders http://wiki.debian.org/CollaborativeMaintenance http://mentors.debian.net/ that describe how multiple Maintainers for a Package could be handled. Maybe this is a way to go? Michael noted he is not interested in co-maintaining. The Debian Request Tracker Group could use some help. The most pressing need is for somebody to test request-tracker3.6 3.6.6-2~experimental1 I just uploaded into experimental. From NEWS.Debian: I'd really like to get these changes into lenny, but I'm not prepared to upload into unstable without any test reports and comments. Update: the changes are now in lenny as of 3.6.6-2, but this is not a widely used package and all test reports are definitely welcome. Beside this, there's the usual bug triaging and the like. Upstream responsiveness seems to vary, but we could certainly be better at feeding our changes and bug reports there. Note that some really old open bugs inherited from earlier RT versions are still relevant to 3.6, although they are currently open against request-tracker3.4. The package documentation in NOTES.Debian et al. could probably be improved too, if somebody is so inclined... :) The project is hosted as pkg-request-tracker on Alioth and the packaging is at svn://svn.debian.org/svn/pkg-request-tracker/ . I'll be happy to add anybody interested in the group and help getting started, of course. These still apply... Bug#258096: glom debian package
Seems people are currently tighted up. I'm CCing Christopher Brotherton, the Ubuntu glom packager to see if he'd like to help packaging glom for Debian. Meanwhile I'll try to do the work based on the Ubuntu package, and anybody are welcomed to help. -- Regards, Deng Xiyue, a.k.a. manphiz -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe.
