Bug#482878: RFP: system-config-lvm -- A utility for graphically configuring Logical Volumes

2008-05-25 Thread Alberto
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: system-config-lvm
  Version : 1.1.4
  Upstream Author : Jim Parsons [EMAIL PROTECTED]
* URL :
http://translate.fedoraproject.com/module/system-config-lvm
* License : GPL 2
  Programming Lang: Python
  Description : A utility for graphically configuring Logical Volumes

System-config-lvm provides a graphical interface to the LVM tools (and
related utilities, including fsck and resize2fs) which is good for
non-emergency storage administration. It enables you to manage your
logical volume and filesystem configuration with a few mouse clicks, and
it prevents potentially-disasterous command-line mistakes such as
reducing a logical volume size before reducing the filesystem contained
within that volume.
(Description taken from http://snurl.com/2ak6d)

This GUI was yet tested in Debian-based distribution, as you can read
here (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=216117).

[N.B.: This ITP was generated automatically from a template, even
though the DOG does intend to package the described software for
Debian. We apologize for the glitches in the text below.]

* Package name: octave-odepkg
  Version : 0.4.1
  Upstream Author : Thomas Treichl
* URL : http://octave.sourceforge.net/odepkg/index.html
* License : GPL version 2 or later
  Programming Lang: C++, Octave
  Description : A toolkit for Differential Equations and Initial Value
Problems

This is one of the packages distributed by the octave-forge project
using the pkg.m system introduced in version 3 of Octave [1], a
numerical computation software.

Although users can use directly the pkg() command for installing the
octave-forge pkgs, the Debian Octave Group (DOG) [2] will provide them
as Debian packages. Preliminary versions of the packages can be found

Bug#480096: New NTL package available

2008-05-25 Thread Timothy G Abbott

Hi Gurkan,

I've put a new version of my NTL package at
http://web.mit.edu/sage/apt4/pool/main/n/ntl/ntl_5.4.2-0sagep4.dsc.

This new version contains a patch that I've also submitted upstream to add
versioning to the shared library. It now has no problematic lintian
warnings and should be fully Debian policy compliant.

I'd like to get NTL and the SAGE packages that depend on it into Lenny if
possible, so I'd appreciate your reviewing and uploading this package
soon. If you won't have time to do this in the next week or so, let me
know and I'll upload it myself; I'd be happy to hand off maintainance to
you later when you have time. Thanks,

-Tim Abbott

Bug#406627: ITP: fwknop -- Single Packet Authorization via FireWall KNock OPerator

2008-05-25 Thread Franck JONCOURT

Hi,

I forgot to send a mail to let people know I am currently working on it.

As a matter of fact, I am in touch with the upstream author, and have

not heard of this. Other people have applied on this package but have

been forwarded to me.

We have made some changes as the creation of libiptables-parse-perl

and libiptables-chainmgr-perl to avoid conflicts with psad and fwsnort.

Then I have done some work on it :(!

This is my fault, I apoligize.

  Description : Reference formatting using Endnote-like templates

 This small module provides a way of formatting bibliographic
 references using style templates similar to those used by the popular
 reference management software Endnote (http://www.endnote.com/). The
 API is embarrassingly simple: a formatter object is made using the
 class's constructor, the new() method; format() may then be
 repeatedly called on this object, using the same or different
 templates.
 .
 (The sole purpose of the object is to cache compiled templates so that
 multiple format() invocations are more efficient than they would
 otherwise be. Apart from that, the API might just as well have been a
 single function.)

Bug#482910: ITP: gtkvncviewer -- Small GTK+ tool to connect to VNC servers

2008-05-25 Thread Clement Lorteau
Package: wnpp
Owner: Clement Lorteau [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Severity: wishlist

*** Please type your report below this line ***

* Package name: gtkvncviewer
  Version : 0.3.2
  Upstream Author : Clement Lorteau
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
* URL : http://launchpad.net/gtkvncviewer
* License : GPLv2
  Programming Lang: Python
  Description : Small GTK+ tool to connect to VNC servers

This script provides a GUI for connecting to VNC servers. It remembers
the
credentials of known servers, so connecting to a VNC server is just one
double-click away. Servers are shown in an icon view. This new upstream
version adds the send keys features that were lacking the previous one.

Bug#482938: RFP: foxmarks -- Synchronize bookmarks between multiple systems running Firefox or Iceweasel

2008-05-25 Thread Josh Triplett
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: foxmarks
  Version : Stable 2.0.45, beta 2.0.44.20
  Upstream Author : Foxmarks Inc.
* URL : http://foxmarks.com/
* License : Apache License, Version 2.0
  Programming Lang: XUL and JavaScript
  Description : Synchronize bookmarks between multiple computers running
Firefox or Iceweasel

Foxmarks synchronizes bookmarks between multiple computers running
Firefox or Iceweasel. It stores bookmarks via your
account on the Foxmarks server, also accessible via the web at
http://my.foxmarks.com. It can also store bookmarks on any server
running WebDAV.

The stable version 2.0.45 seems like the safest choice to package.
Foxmarks has a version for Firefox 3 in beta, and packaging that for
experimental might make sense, but it seems easier to just wait for
the stable version to support Firefox 3, which it almost certainly
will by the time the stable release of Firefox 3 occurs.

The binary package should have the name iceweasel-foxmarks or
mozilla-foxmarks; probably the former.

Bug#480086: New version with shared library created

2008-05-25 Thread Timothy G Abbott
I've created a new version of this package with a shared library, and
uploaded it to
http://web.mit.edu/sage/apt4/pool/main/c/cddlib/cddlib_094b-1.dsc.

The shared library version is merged in SAGE, and the patch to libtoolize
it has been submitted upstream.

So, the cddlib package should be essentially ready for uploading to
Debian, modulo small issues.

Bug#482953: RFA: diald

2008-05-25 Thread Jeff Licquia
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

It has been a long time since I've had dialup Internet, and even longer
since this package has had an active upstream. I had thought I could
become upstream, but this hasn't turned out to be the case. The last
straw came when I decided to try and upgrade the package to the last
version released by upstream, and couldn't figure out a way to test that
the new build even worked.

With the latest update, diald should still work, and continue to work
for the foreseeable future.

I suspect this package should just be dropped, but I get feedback on the
package every so often, so I thought I'd give it one last chance. If I
don't hear anything in two weeks, I'll orphan it.

Bug#480096: New NTL package available

2008-05-25 Thread Gürkan Sengün

Hello Tim

I've put a new version of my NTL package at
http://web.mit.edu/sage/apt4/pool/main/n/ntl/ntl_5.4.2-0sagep4.dsc.

Very nice, thanks!

This new version contains a patch that I've also submitted upstream to
add versioning to the shared library. It now has no problematic lintian
warnings and should be fully Debian policy compliant.

Perfect.

I'd like to get NTL and the SAGE packages that depend on it into Lenny
if possible, so I'd appreciate your reviewing and uploading this package
soon. If you won't have time to do this in the next week or so, let me
know and I'll upload it myself; I'd be happy to hand off maintainance to
you later when you have time. Thanks,

I also would like to have NTL in Debian because of one or two other programs.
Please go ahead and upload it (I don't have upload permissions).

Your package looks ok, but you need to change the changelog into just:
ntl (5.4.2-1) unstable; urgency=low

  * Initial release. (Closes: #480096)

 -- Tim Abbott [EMAIL PROTECTED]  Sun, 25 May 2008 12:44:30 -0400

I don't mind being co-maintainer, just add (right after Maintainer:) to
debian/control:

Uploaders: Gürkan Sengün [EMAIL PROTECTED]

You should also change Priority: extra into optional

Cosmetics:
The debian/copyright files usually have the tab set to 4 (not 3)

The rest is fine, thank you!

Yours,
Gürkan
