thanks

I use synergy at my workstation at home to control two computers.

I've actually done the work to update the package; anyone interested can
see the results here:

http://bzr.licquia.org/loggerhead/synergy/debian/

If I hear no objections, I'll upload in a week or so.

giftrans needs some loving, and I don't have the time any more. It's
an old but still useful program. The best bet is probably to
re-package from scratch, which will fix the only outstanding bug
(#478385).

While I am doing an upload on Singular, and I am willing to maintain these
packages, my offer for adoption on it is still open. If you'd like to
maintain singular, let me know -- I would certainly appreciate the help.

My latest package is available from .

However, I've found a number of copyright documentation issues in the
upstream tarball that I've on contact with upstream about, so Singular is
not yet ready to be uploaded.

Bug#485037: ITP: tomcat-native -- Tomcat native library using apache portable runtime

2008-06-07 Thread Michael Koch
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Michael Koch <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

* Package name: tomcat-native
  Version : 1.1.13
  Upstream Author : Apache Software Foundation
* URL : http://tomcat.apache.org/
* License : Apache License 2.0
  Programming Lang: C
  Description : Tomcat native library using apache portable runtime

 Tomcat can use the Apache Portable Runtime to provide superior scalability,
 performance, and better integration with native server technologies.
 The Apache Portable Runtime is a highly portable library that is at the
 heart of Apache HTTP Server 2.x. APR has many uses, including access to
 advanced IO functionality (such as sendfile, epoll and OpenSSL), OS level
 functionality (random number generation, system status, etc), and native
 process handling (shared memory, NT pipes and Unix sockets).
 .
 These features allows making Tomcat a general purpose webserver, will
 enable much better integration with other native web technologies, and
 overall make Java much more viable as a full fledged webserver platform
 rather than simply a backend focused technology.

* URL : http://search.cpan.org/dist/HTTP-Server-Simple-Recorder
* License : Perl
Programming Lang: Perl
Description : Mixin to record HTTP::Server::Simple's sockets
 This module allows you to record all HTTP communication between an
 HTTP::Server::Simple-derived server and its clients. It is a mixin, so
 it doesn't itself subclass HTTP::Server::Simple; you need to subclass from
 both HTTP::Server::Simple::Recorder and an actual HTTP::Server::Simple
subclass,
 and HTTP::Server::Simple::Recorder should be listed first.
 .
 Every time a client connects to your server, this module will open a pair of
files and log
 the communication between the file and server to these files. Each connection
gets a serial
 number starting at 1. The filename used is <$self-recorder_prefix>>, then a
period,
 then the connection serial number, then a period, then either "in" or "out".
 recorder_prefix defaults to /tmp/http-server-simple-recorder, but you can
override that
 in your subclass. For example, you might want to include the process ID.

thanks for your offer. There are already some volunteers, but I guess the more
people fixing bugs the better. Welcome on board and thanks for your help.

Before you get write access to the svn repository, you should provide some
patches / work on some bugs. Useful reading includes

http://lists.debian.org/debian-apache/2008/05/msg00132.html
http://wiki.debian.org/Apache2LennyGoals
http://lists.debian.org/debian-apache/2008/03/msg00067.html

Besides what is in the links, there are two more things that I think would be
useful:

- Check the packages (apache2/apr/apr-util/ssl-cert) for changes needed or
recommended with policy 3.8.0.

- Package apr/apr-util 1.3 in a way that the dbd drivers (and maybe ldap) get
separated into their own packages. This way people who only use subversion
would not need to install the mysql and postgres client libraries. This
probably requires some experience with packaging shared libraries. Apr 1.3 will
be for lenny+1, however. Lenny will be released with apr/apr-util 1.2.12, but
we could upload 1.3 to experimental already.

(The other volunteers are of course welcome to do this, too ;-) )

Cheers,
Stefan

Bug#461097: ITP: ocropus -- Document analysis and OCR system

2008-06-07 Thread Jeffrey Ratcliffe
I've almost got this finished.

Do you mind if I take over this ITP?

Note that it relies on a patch to tesseract which I will upload in the
next few days.

Regards

Jeff

  Description : USB UVC Video Class snapshot software

 The purpose of this software is to capture an image from a USB webcam at a
 specified interval, and save it to a JPEG file, no other formats are supported.
 .
 Right now this software is really a hack, since still image support is not yet
 available in the UVC driver. The program continually polls the UVC driver in
 MJPEG mode, and at a specified interval writes a JPEG header and a single frame
 to file, creating a JPEG image.
