It use qt4 (I didn't follow kopete develop, may be they switching to kde4, but all I seen was kde3 and qt3 based). It have light interface similar to QIP or Miranda. Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Owner: Steffen Moeller <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> * Package name: biojava-live Version : 1.6.0 * URL : http://www.biojava.org * License : LGPL Programming Lang: Java Description : Java API to develop tools for bioinformatics research BioJava is an open-source project dedicated to providing a Java framework for processing biological data. It includes objects for manipulating sequences, file parsers, DAS client and server support, access to BioSQL and Ensembl databases, and powerful analysis and statistical routines including a dynamic programming toolkit. . BioJava is provided by a vibrant community which meets annually at the Bioinformatics Open Source Conference (BOSC) that traditionally accompanies the Intelligent Systems in Molecular Biology (ISMB) meeting. Bug#490100: Please consider a free license for triangle
Dear Dr. Shewchuk, Thank you for making your triangle program source code broadly available. I use it with the Open CASCADE CAD toolkit, which in turn is used in FreeCAD and the Salomé FEA pre/post-processing framework. I am packaging triangle for Debian GNU/Linux, a distribution of the Linux kernel and a large amount of related software. Debian can include "non-free" software with restrictions such as yours which forbids selling the triangle software. However, we would prefer it if software were free, a.k.a. open source, i.e. conforming to the Debian Free Software Guidelines [1], which are nearly identical to the Open Source Definition [2]. [1] http://www.debian.org/social_contract#guidelines [2] http://www.opensource.org/docs/osd If you are interested in keeping triangle and derivatives from use in proprietary forks, I can recommend the GNU General Public License [3] or the GNU Lesser General Public License [4] (the latter requires that modifications to the code remain free but does not restrict linking with other libraries or binaries). If you want others to be able to use triangle in proprietary software but require that they preserve your copyright and attribution, then the revised BSD license [5] is a good choice. With any of these licenses, you keep the copyright, and can license the code to anyone as you wish (e.g. to a proprietary software company under a separate license etc.). And of course, none of these licenses would prevent one from using triangle in a consulting capacity. [3] http://www.gnu.org/copyleft/gpl.html [4] http://www.gnu.org/copyleft/lesser.html [5] http://www.debian.org/misc/bsd.license Thank you again for this wonderful and versatile code. If you have the time (and funding/inclination), it would be terrific to have a 3-D version! Until then, I will remain a happy triangle user. Bug#490956: RFP: libconfig-augeas-perl -- Edit configuration files through Augeas C library
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist * Package name: libconfig-augeas-perl Version : 0.201 Upstream Author : Dominique Dumont <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> * URL : http://search.cpan.org/perldoc?Config::Augeas * License : LGPL Programming Lang: C, Perl Description : Edit configuration files through Augeas C library Augeas is a library and command line tool that focuses on the most basic problem in handling Linux configurations programmatically: editing actual configuration files in a controlled manner. To that end, Augeas exposes a tree of all configuration settings (well, all the ones it knows about) and a simple local API for manipulating the tree. Augeas then modifies underlying configuration files according to the changes that have been made to the tree; it does as little modeling of configurations as possible, and focuses exclusively on transforming the tree-oriented syntax of its public API to the myriad syntaxes of individual configuration files. This module provides an object oriented Perl interface for Augeas configuration edition library with a more "perlish" API than Augeas C counterpart. Bug#490922: RFP: adeona -- A Free, Open Source System for Helping Track and Recover Lost and Stolen Laptops
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist * Package name: adeona Version : 0.2.1 Upstream Author : University of Washington * URL : http://adeona.cs.washington.edu/ * License : GPL Programming Lang: C Description : A Free, Open Source System for Helping Track and Recover Lost and Stolen Laptops Adeona is the first Open Source system for tracking the location of your lost or stolen laptop that does not rely on a proprietary, central service. This means that you can install Adeona on your laptop and go — there's no need to rely on a single third party. What's more, Adeona addresses a critical privacy goal different from existing commercial offerings. It is privacy-preserving. This means that no one besides the owner (or an agent of the owner's choosing) can use Adeona to track a laptop. Unlike other systems, users of Adeona can rest assured that no one can abuse the system in order to track where they use their laptop. Adeona is designed to use the Open Source OpenDHT distributed storage service to store location updates sent by a small software client installed on an owner's laptop. The client continually monitors the current location of the laptop, gathering information (such as IP addresses and local network topology) that can be used to identify its current location. The client then uses strong cryptographic mechanisms to not only encrypt the location data, but also ensure that the ciphertexts stored within OpenDHT are anonymous and unlinkable. At the same time, it is easy for an owner to retrieve location information. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.25-2-686 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=es_ES.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=es_ES.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Bug#490907: ITP: openturns -- Open source initiative to Treat Uncertainties, Risks?N Statistics
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist X-Debbugs-CC: [EMAIL PROTECTED] --- Please fill out the fields below. --- Package name: openturns Version: 0.12.0 Upstream Author: - Électricité de France (EDF), the main electricity generation and distribution company in France; - European Aeronautic Defence and Space company (EADS), a large European aerospace corporation, - Phimeca, an Engineering Consultancy company specialised in Structural Reliability analysis. URL: http://trac.openturns.org/ License: LGPL Description: OpenTURNS is an Open source initiative to Treat Uncertainties, RisksâN Statistics in a structured industrial approach. Since the beginning of 2005, a partnership of three companies has been working on building together a tool designed to perform uncertainty treatment and reliability analyses. OpenTURNS is a Unix/Linux software with three main components : - a scientific C++ library including an internal data model and algorithms dedicated to the treatment of uncertainties. The main function of that library is giving to specific applications all the functionalities needed to treat uncertainties in studies. Targeted users are all engineers who want to introduce the probabilistic dimension in their so far deterministic studies. - an independent application with a graphical user interface. This application was built to become the work environment for the specialist of the treatment of uncertainties. Targeted users are once again industrial practitioners: those who identify the treatment of uncertainties as a full task, which can be spread to multiple engineering domains. - a python module with high level operators in the probabilistic and statistical field. The interest of this language is to be both a powerful scientific language (capable of using C++ libraries), and a user friendly interpreted language like Matlab(tm) one. This python module was designed to make the development of prototypes easier (in order to test new algorithms and methods for example), to become an easy-to-use support for educational works, ⦠This module intends to become a natural environment capable of integrating new developments within the field of uncertainty and sensitivity analysis. The targeted users are here research centres and the academic community. -- Debian Developer Annecy - Grenoble Scientific computing related software -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
