Bug#499233: ITP: libdbicx-testdatabase-perl -- create a temporary database from a DBIx::Class::Schema

Severity: wishlist
Owner: AGOSTINI Yves <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

* Package name: libdbicx-testdatabase-perl
  Version : 0.02
  Upstream Author : Jonathan Rockway <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
* URL : http://search.cpan.org/dist/DBICx-TestDatabase/
* License : perl
  Programming Lang: Perl
  Description : Create a temporary database from a DBIx::Class::Schema

 DBICx::TestDatabase creates a temporary SQLite database, deploys your DBIC
schema,
 and then connects to it. This lets you easily test your DBIC schema. Since you
 have a fresh database for every test, you don't have to worry about cleaning up
 after your tests, ordering of tests affecting failure, etc.

Yeah. Thanks for letting us know.

I suppose Michele will rename this ticket as an ITP any time soon, then
(if he's not too busy packaging the CAS server ;)

Very good news indeed.

Best regards,

P.S.: btw, I'm glad they included a fix of mine in this new release too,
which adds another redirect, helping package some applications using
relative URLs ;-)

  Description : A pure perl multi-level hash/array DBM that supports
transactions

DBM::Deep is an unique flat-file database module, written in pure perl. True
multi-level hash/array support (unlike MLDBM, which is faked), hybrid OO /
tie() interface, cross-platform FTPable files, ACID transactions, and is quite
fast. Can handle millions of keys and unlimited levels without significant
slow-down. Written from the ground-up in pure perl -- this is NOT a wrapper
around a C-based DBM. Out-of-the-box compatibility with Unix, Mac OS X and
Windows.

Bug#499242: ITP: libclass-accessor-named-perl -- Better profiling output for Class::Accessor

2008-09-17 Thread Yves AGOSTINI
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: AGOSTINI Yves <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

* Package name: libclass-accessor-named-perl
  Version : 0.008
  Upstream Author : Jesse Vincent <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
* URL : http://search.cpan.org/dist/Class-Accessor-Named/
* License : Perl
  Programming Lang: Perl
  Description : Better profiling output for Class::Accessor

Class::Accessor is a great way to automate the tedious task of generating
accessors and mutators. One small drawback is that due to the details of
the implemenetation, you only get one __ANON__ entry in profiling output.
That entry contains all your accessors, which can be a real pain if you're
attempting to figure out which of your accessors is being called six billion
times. This module is a development aid which uses Hook::LexWrap and Sub::Name
to talk your accessors into identifying themselves. While it shouldn't add
much additional runtime overhead (as it acts only Class::Accessor's generator
functions), it has not been designed for production deployment.

Bug#499249: O: ivman -- daemon to auto-mount and manage media devices

2008-09-17 Thread Mike O'Connor
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

I intend to orphan the ivman package. I rarely use it anymore, and it
deserves someone that will care for it better than I have been.

If you want to be the new maintainer, please take it -- see
http://www.debian.org/devel/wnpp/index.html#howto-o for detailed
instructions how to adopt a package properly.

The package description is:
 ivman is a daemon that acts as a policy agent on top of HAL. It
 listens to HAL events and reacts with user-configurable
 actions. Currently it supports automount of new media and hot-plugged
 devices, autorun, autoplay for CDs and DVDs, and automatic camera

you of the experimental builds once the builds start.

The archive is not smart enough to do that :) besides, your upload was
to experimental.

Ok, thanks for checking.

Brtw, do you intend to apply for Debian Developer ( https://nm.debian.org )
or Debian Maintainer ( http://wiki.debian.org/Maintainers ) ? For both
cases you need to get your key signed by a Debian Developer.

Description: playlist editor / player frontend
 Juice is a frontend for mpg123 and other players. It provides
 a nifty dialog-based playlist editor.
 .
 It basically allows you to browse through your files in a
 "Midnight Commander"-like fashion. The MP3's you select are
 treated as a playlist which can be shuffled, rearranged,
 saved, etc.
 .
 In order to play audio files, two player interfaces are
 provided. The mpg123-specific interface uses the remote
 protocol of mpg123 (This feature was introduced in version
 0.59r in order to accommodate generic frontends.) The other
 player frontend is generic and allows for any player to be
 used. This is useful if you do not want to limit the
 functionality of juice to MP3's. Please note that this
 generic frontend is still in early beta phase and is
 pretty buggy.
 .
 Of course juice comes with all the bells & whistles you'd
 expect from a quality application and has (among others)
 full integrated help functionality as well as full dialog
 based configuration file editor.

  Description : python-pygene is a simple python genetic
algorithms/programming library

pygene is my attempt at a genetic algorithms and genetic programming library
for python that is easy to use and understand

This is your chance to play God.

You design the genome of a species.

You implement a fitness calculation procedure for members of that species.

You create a population of that species, then sit back as members of
the species indulge
their promiscuous desires.

A given organism's chance of getting laid is proportional tno its fitness.

Watch as your population evolves closer and closer to perfection, or
converges to something reasonably close to it.

Bug#361346: Remove

2008-09-17 Thread Frank Lichtenheld
severity 361346 serious
thanks

Hi,

astrolog has been orphaned for a long time now and I am evaluating
whether a request for removal should be finally filed.

You are receiving this mail because:
 - your name showed up somewhere in the history of the package
 - I think that you might be interested for some reason
 - or you maintain a related/similar package

Are you interested in adopting this package? Do you know potential adopters?
If so, please could you forward them this mail, Ccing the BTS and me?

If there is no action from anyone, I'll request the removal of this package
from Debian after a month.

Thank you,

Hello Carlos,
my general suggestion is to use

$ reportbug wnpp

to report ITP package: it will guide you in the fill of the template.

that's wrong: the short description is meant to be in a form like

 {is, is a,} .

Infer yourself what we expect to see in that field (and can look it up
on dev ref/policy) :)

"my" is referring to you? God? upstream? it's not clear and please
rephrase it to be impersonal/generic.

Please, try to "condense" the description. if you want short sentence,
consider using a list of features or so

I would like to adopt... IIRC I filed an ITA some time ago -- and at
that time I did quite a lot of work on the package, including an all-new
manpage etc. -- but I got tripped up on licensing. I wanted to get
astrolog out of non-free but couldn't get agreement on how to do that.

I'm quite busy with other work at the moment but I don't want to see the
package go awy. Are you a DD? (I'm not...) Could you sponsor the
upload if I get a new package finalized?

Bug#499316: O: nedit -- A powerful, customizable, Motif based text editor

2008-09-17 Thread Barry deFreese

Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

The current maintainer of yard, Alexandre Pineau
<[EMAIL PROTECTED]>, is apparently not active anymore.
Therefore, I orphan this package now.

If you want to be the new maintainer, please take it -- see
http://www.debian.org/devel/wnpp/index.html#howto-o for detailed
instructions how to adopt a package properly.

Thank you,

Barry deFreese
on Behalf of Debian QA Group

No, I have no time to sponsor packages I'm not interested in. You are
welcome to adopt the package, but you will need to find a sponsor on
your own.

Bug#499357: ITP: libtitanium-perl -- A strong, lightweight web application framework for perl

2008-09-17 Thread Jaldhar H. Vyas
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: "Jaldhar H. Vyas" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

* Package name: libtitanium-perl
  Version : 1.00
  Upstream Author : Mark Stosberg <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
* URL : http://search.cpan.org/dist/Titanium/
* License : GPL+Artistic
  Programming Lang: Perl
  Description : A strong, lightweight web application framework for perl

Titanium is solid and mature. While it has a new name, the reality is
that Titanium is simply a more user-friendly packaging of the mature
CGI::Application framework and some useful plugins.

Titanium is lightweight. Titanium has a very light core and the plugins
it uses employ lazy-loading whenever possible.

Titanium runs well in a plain CGI environment and provides excellent
performance in a persistent environment such as FastCGI or mod_perl.

Titanium apps are compatible with the dozens of published plugins for
CGI::Application, so you can add additional features as your needs
evolve.
