This is now discussed with the EasyPG author at Debian BTS here:

It seems that you did not react to Paul's suggestions to improve the
package. Moreover it seems that you have not updated to package since
that 27 Oct 2007.

ay I ask you if you are still interested in maintaining the package? At
our university, we have quite a number of machines with Intel's AMT and
having a well maintained package would be helpful.

You might also be interested to hear that a collegue of mine, Michael
Gernoth (CC'ed) maintains a private git repository of amt at [1]. He
just mentioned to me that at least some of his package really should go
in the debian package.

Please tell me if you are interested in Co-Maintenance or if you prefer
if someone else would take over this ITP.

Bug#503529: O: udhcp -- very small DHCP client

2008-10-27 Thread Luca Bruno
Citing from udhcp upstream website:
«Note that the standalone udhcp client/server is not maintained anymore.
It was moved to busybox. Use the udhcp in busybox instead. (The rest of
this page was last updated in 2003 and is now obsolete).»

It looks like this source package could be dropped, if QA team wants.
Popcon report 122/143 install; busybox maintainers could consider
providing binary packages for this, if feasible.

Ciao, Luca

retitle 474131 ITA: replicator -- automate new computer installations in a

thanks

Hello,

I am in the process of adopting this package.
My plan is to produce a etch compatible version before December 2008.

Because I am not yet an official debian maintainer I am not sure when
I manage an upload to unstable, but I will provide an alternative
download URL.

Regards,
Martin

Bug#492480: ITP: gtkmm-utils -- C++ utility and widget library based on glibmm and gtkmm

2008-10-27 Thread Iulian Udrea
Since school started I've got no time to work on this package for
inclusion in Debian any more.

Anyway, I am the maintainer of this package in Ubuntu. If anyone would
like to take over, please go ahead. I'd be more than happy to see this
uploaded in Debian too.

IIRC, I already sent an e-mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] but unfortunately no
sponsor answered.

Bug#501220: RFS: libalberta2 -- adaptive finite element library

2008-10-27 Thread André Gaul
Dear mentors,

I am looking for a sponsor for my package "libalberta2".

* Package name: libalberta2
  Version : 2.0.1-1
  Upstream Author : Alfred Schmidt <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
* URL : http://www.alberta-fem.de
* License : GPL-3
  Section : libs

Description:
ALBERTA is an adaptive finite element library
for solving partial differential equations (PDEs).

It offers a hierarchical mesh and methods for 1d, 2d
and 3d stationary as well as time dependent problems.
It is written in C with speed and flexibility in mind.

It builds these binary packages:
libalberta2 - adaptive finite element library (shared libraries)
libalberta2-dev - adaptive finite element library (development headers)

The package appears to be lintian clean.

The upload would fix these bugs: 501220 (ITP).

The package can be found on my site (as mentors.debian.net does not seem
to work ATM):
- URL: http://web-yard.de/user/public/[EMAIL PROTECTED]/debian/
- dget
http://web-yard.de/user/public/[EMAIL PROTECTED]/debian/libalberta2_2.0.1-1.dsc

Thanks a lot for reviewing (and hopefully uploading) this package!

Kind regards,
André Gaul

Owner: Reijo Tomperi <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

  Package name: cppcheck
  Version : 1.24.0
  Upstream Author : Daniel Marjamäki <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
  URL : https://sourceforge.net/projects/cppcheck
  License : GPL 3
  Programming Lang: C++
Description : Simple syntax checking of C/C++ code.

I would like to create a new package and become a maintainer
for it.

Intended to complement the checking of the compiler.
Checks for: memory leaks, mismatching allocation-deallocation,
buffer overrun, and many more.

Cppcheck has currently found previously unknown bugs e.g. from the Linux
kernel, Filezilla, PostgreSQL, KDE, Apache server, PHP6 and other projects.

Additional information:
- I have never been a package maintainer before, but I did read a
manual about it and was able to create the package with only 2 lintian
warnings left, which are about this bug report. I also got approval
from the package maintainer.
- The current version of cppcheck (1.24) lacks license information
(fixed in the latest svn version), so I will be requesting a new
release from the upstream author before making the actual package.

I didn't received that message (I probably should have mentioned

I have also fixed lintian errors and other minor stuffs, and I have

As I mentioned, I wasn't aware of it. That's now fixed.

The main problem seems that upstream isn't very active, as he didn't
upload any update since I packaged it.

I'm not using the packages myself, so you can take it over. I can remain
co-maintainer if you want some help (we still need a sponsor).

Did he get in touch with upstream, to get those patches merged ?

Since this is a library, it should probably use the new symbols files
feature, to make shlibs as minimal as possible and also to detect ABI
breakage in the future (please set DPKG_GENSYMBOLS_CHECK_LEVEL=4 in
your environment).
