Really. On November 5, 2008 at 8:24AM +0100, joerg (at debian.org) wrote: > Yes I have, this package for *one single file* won't make it into > Debian, sorry. I'll make a patch to merge alpaca.el into the emacs-goodies-el package soon. Though I don't think an upstream single file must not be packaged, the emacs-goodies-el package seems to fit for alpaca.el. Thanks, -- Tatsuya Kinoshita pgp8o8kvghFAY.pgp Description: PGP signature
Bug#505862: ITP: multiprocessing -- process-based "threading" interface
On Sun, Nov 16, 2008 at 15:10, Ludovic Rousseau <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Please, name the package python-multiprocessing to follow Python policy [1]. > And maybe also mention Python in the short description. Thanks for replying, but the name policy it's for binary packages, and "multiprocessing" is only the source package name (binary is python-multiprocessing). Hence 'python' will be already in the package name, searchable by apt-cache. I agree that the short description is a little bit "rusty" but it's taken from upstream doc[1] (I may change it before upload). Bug#505862: ITP: multiprocessing -- process-based "threading" interface
Sandro Tosi a écrit : Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Owner: Sandro Tosi <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> * Package name: multiprocessing Version : 2.6.0-0.1 Upstream Author : R Oudkerk / Python Software Foundation <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> * URL : http://code.google.com/p/python-multiprocessing/ * License : BSD Programming Lang: Python/C Description : process-based "threading" interface multiprocessing is a package that supports spawning processes using an API similar to the threading module. The multiprocessing package offers both local and remote concurrency, effectively side-stepping the Global Interpreter Lock by using subprocesses instead of threads. Due to this, the multiprocessing module allows the programmer to fully leverage multiple processors on a given machine. It runs on both Unix and Windows. . This is a back port to Python 2.4/2.5 of the multiprocessing package introduced via PEP-371 and Python 2.6. This is essentially for meta-fork of the original pyprocessing project found at: http://pyprocessing.berlios.de/ . Please, name the package python-multiprocessing to follow Python policy [1]. And maybe also mention Python in the short description. Bug#505878: ITP: libfunambol-cpp-client-api -- cross-platform syncml client stack
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Owner: David Bremner <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> * Package name: libfunambol-cpp-client-api Version : syncevolution-0.8.1 Upstream Author : Funambol Inc. * URL : http://core.forge.funambol.org * License : AGPL Programming Lang: C++ Description : cross-platform syncml client stack Long description, from web site, needs improvement: --- This SDK allows to integrate a syncml stack in a C++ application on a variety of platforms. Currently, Windows, WinMobile and Linux are actively supported, but you can easily build it on other Unixes or other mobile/embedded platforms. Comments on Licensing: -- Although there continues to be a certain amount of debate about the AGPL, there is at least one [1] AGPL package in main, so for the moment I am going ahead on the assumption that ftp-master will let it in. Comments on upstream sources: - Patrick Ohly maintains a git repo with the official sources, plus some patches. at http://github.com/pohly/funambol-cpp-client-api/tree/master Since my main goal is to get Patrick's Syncevolution packaged, I will probably use Patrick's git repo as upstream. Alternatively I could essentially duplicate Patrick's efforts by starting with pristine upstream and applying the same set of patches. Let me know if people have ideas about the "right way" to proceed.
