The package description is: The chkrootkit security scanner searches the local system for signs that it is infected with a 'rootkit'. Rootkits are set of programs and hacks designed to take control of a target machine by using known security flaws. . Types that chkrootkit can identify are listed on the project's home page. . Please note that where chkrootkit detects no intrusions, this does not guarantee that the system is uncompromised. In addition to running chkrootkit, more specific tests should always be performed. --- End Message --- --- Begin Message --- Source: chkrootkit Source-Version: 0.48-7 We believe that the bug you reported is fixed in the latest version of chkrootkit, which is due to be installed in the Debian FTP archive: chkrootkit_0.48-7.diff.gz to pool/main/c/chkrootkit/chkrootkit_0.48-7.diff.gz chkrootkit_0.48-7.dsc to pool/main/c/chkrootkit/chkrootkit_0.48-7.dsc chkrootkit_0.48-7_amd64.deb to pool/main/c/chkrootkit/chkrootkit_0.48-7_amd64.deb A summary of the changes between this version and the previous one is attached. (Closes: #506721) * debian/patches/fixwarnings.dpatch: Some little fixes to silence compiler. * added debian/README.source to document dpatch usage, as required by Debian Policy since 3.8.0 * debian/control: + Set me as maintainer + set DM-Upload-Allowed: yes control field + Added ${misc:Depends} in Depends * debian/patches/nophpcheck.dpatch: Delete the "suspect PHP files" check. Not only does it trigger SIGPIPE for file names which contain special unescaped characters, the second half is doubtful (it doesn't print any filenames and gets confused by binary file contents). Bug#477972:
Hey Tim. I've mailed you a couple of months ago about hamster-applet when it entered Ubuntu Intrepid. Hamster-applet is also on http://svn.debian.org/viewsvn/pkg-gnome/desktop/hamster-applet/debian/ and it's more complete and ready to go into experimental. Mind if the pkg-gnome upload my version and we work together hamster-applet on pkg-gnome? signature.asc Description: This is a digitally signed message part

Bug#506931: O: inspircd -- modular C++ irc daemon
Package: wnpp Severity: normal InspIRCd is an advanced modular IRC daemon that no active members on the pkg-irc team have an interest in anymore (we are mostly interested in IRC clients and tools than daemons now). Please note that adopting this package means that you will have to support it during lenny, which may require patch authoring on your part, depending on how quickly the inspircd developers drop inspircd 1.1 maintainance. It is likely that the inspircd development team will drop support for 1.1 during lenny's lifecycle (which is expected to be at least 2-3 years). Packaging InspIRCd 1.1 is especially complex due to design decisions taken by the InspIRCd developers during the 1.1 branch, which result in invasive modifications being required in order to ensure Debian policy compliance. On top of this, upstream tends to become cranky whenever their releases are patched. InspIRCd 1.2 will likely be easier to maintain in Debian, but is not yet ready for inclusion due to being too new. Since most users of InspIRCd will likely be compiling with custom settings, there is probably no real value in having this package. If nobody takes this package by December 9, 2008, I will file a bug to remove it from Debian. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Bug#506933: ITP: piwik -- open source web analytics
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Owner: Jose Luis Tallon <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> * Package name: piwik Version : 0.2.24 Upstream Author : Matt & others * URL : http://www.piwik.org/ * License : GPL-2 Programming Lang: PHP, JavaScript Description : open source web analytics Piwik provides detailed reports on your website visitors: the search engines and keywords they used, the language they speak, your popular pages and more. It aims to be an open source alternative to Google Analytics. . Piwik is a PHP MySQL software program that you download and install on your own webserver. At the end of the five minute installation process you will be given a JavaScript tag. Simply copy and paste this tag on websites you wish to track, or alternatively, use an existing plugin to do it automatically for you. There exist plugins for many popular packages, such as WordPress, DokuWiki, Drupal, TYPO3, DotClear2 and more. . What makes Piwik unique from the competition: - Piwik's features are built inside plugins: you can add new features and remove the ones you don't need. Open API for plugin developers - you own your data: because Piwik is installed on your server, the data is stored in your own database and you can get all the statistics using open APIs - the user interface is fully customizable: you can drag and drop the widgets you want to display and create a report especially tailored to you -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
