Bug#520955: unofficial xserver-xorg-video-glamo packages?

2009-04-17 Thread Nelson Castillo
I would love to test xserver-xorg-video-glamo also.

I need it now and I would like to be able to avoid the compilation :-)
It seems that I won't be able to avoid it this time.

Bug#519993: RFS: wbar (4th try)

2009-04-17 Thread Sandro Tosi
Hi Krzysztof,

On Thu, Apr 16, 2009 at 21:16, wrote:
> Dear mentors,
>
> I am looking for a sponsor for my package "wbar".

I looked at your package and I found something to fix:

- no need for 'a ' in the short description
- long descriptions is a little too short maybe? (dunno, it's just a
feeling it's a merge of short sentences taken from website and package
description)
- you have to add the repack script, for example debian/repack.sh, and
add it as parameter to debian/watch file.
- from where did you inferred 2007 as copyright years? Only 2006 is
clearly stated as copyright year for the code.
- without config file it's doesnt start:
$ wbar
Can't stat a config file. Try # make install or -config
could a default assumption be made into the code for some param? If
not, providing a config file (and if it's the one in examples, you
have to claryfy it) should be nice
- $ wbar -config /usr/share/doc/wbar/examples/dot.wbar
Using /usr/share/doc/wbar/examples/dot.wbar config file.
iconpack/wbar.osx/osxbarback.png -> Image not found. Maybe using a
relative path?

am I using it wrong or else?

Let us know and reupload to mentors (no rev bump) when ready.

Bug#323913: tstat copyright/license issues for deb package

2009-04-17 Thread Marco Mellia
Hi Eduardo,

Thanks for pointing out these licensing issues. My understanding about
the problem is probably not high, but
after some discussion here I think GPLv2 is fine for us.
BTW, we are going to release a new version of tstat in the next days.
And we'll fix all license issue there.
If you'd like to test it, you can refer to the svn version which is in
the trunk branch.
We'll also send you an email when the new version will be ready.
Thanks again,
Marco

libopenexr-dev - development files for the OpenEXR image library

Closes: 494877
Changes:
 openexr (1.6.1-4) unstable; urgency=low
 .
   * Adopt the package within pkg-phototools (Closes: #494877):
  - Thanks to Adeodato Simó et al. for having taken care of it until
now!
  - Set Maintainer to the group.
  - Set Uploaders to myself.
  - Update Vcs-{Git,Browser}.
  - Remove XS-X-Collab-Maint field, no longer relevant. Patches are
still welcome, though!
   * Switch to debhelper 7:
  - Bump debian/compat to 7.
  - Version the B-D on debhelper: >= 7.0.50 to allow the use of
overrides.
  - Specify some overrides to tweak as needed for the build:
 - dh_auto_configure: pass the --with-openexr flag to configure
   script.
 - dh_auto_test: don't run “check” on arm and ia64 for now, and
bypass dh_auto_test due to bad target detection.
 - dh_compress: no longer compress .h/.cpp examples.
 - dh_link: needed since libopenexr-dev's and openexr's /us/s/d
directories are symlinks to libopenexr6's one.
 - dh_makeshlibs: keep on using -V.
 - dh_installdeb: add a call to dh_buildinfo to keep on storing the
versions of packages installed during the build.
  - Specify some targets:
 - build and clean to handle patching/unpatching and
   updating/cleaning config.{guess,sub}.
   * Now compress PDF documentation. Any sane PDF viewer should be able to
 handle decompression.
   * Remove .gitignore file.
   * Add ${misc:Depends} to all binaries.
   * Bump Standards-Version from 3.7.3 to 3.8.1 (no changes needed).

At some point, but not for this issue. BLACS and ScaLAPACK (and MUMPS)
would need to be rebuilt for the new MPICH2 anyway.

This is probably a topic for debian-science, which discussed MPI and
decided to go with a mpi-defaults meta-package, so packages build
against OpenMPI on the arches where it's available and LAM otherwise.

Muammar, I have yet to hear from you regarding 491028 and 491105. Do
you have any feedback? This is a major change, but do you mind if I NMU
to make it?

Thanks,
-Adam

Hi Steve,

I couldn't make a usable package in the past because of some issues with
CEGUI (#456244), and after that the usage of a new version.

I'm still interested in the package, but right now I do not have enough
time to work on it.

If someone (perhaps you? :) ) is willing to package it, please go ahead.
If not, I'll prefer to ask for *not* removing the libraries you mentioned.
And I'll try to give some time to re-try packaging ember.

Anyway, I appreciate the notice.

Regards,

Hello Erick,

Are you still intending to package Ember?

libwfut has been packaged for Sear, which is currently the only
user of four libary packages:
liberis-1.3-14 libmd3-1 libsage2 libwfut-0.2-1

I've just filed
#524484: sear, sear-media: should this package be removed?
which may lead to all of those libraries being removed.

Steve

Actually I was under the impression that the "asterisk-gui" was
built as an example not intended to be used in production. :-)
Any reason to have asterisk-gui on your wishlist at all?

Bug#496258: asterisk-gui (not)

2009-04-17 Thread Tzafrir Cohen
Update on the asterisk-gui ITP: not going anywhere for now.

I spent some time recently trying to update asterisk-gui .

Sadly I could not get much farther. It kept looping at startup and
upstream has been quite uncooperative. Debugging the maze of client-side
Javascript has proved to be quite uncooperative:

http://bugs.digium.com/view.php?id=14840

Current version of the package will not work with latest Asterisk 1.6.1
and DAHDI. My work-in-progress patches to adapt some SVN version (that
does support them) is at my working copy if anybody wants to pursue
this.

But it seems that the asterisk-gui is something designed for asterisk
running as root and executing shell commands provided from the user with
minimal or no filtering. This is not something I like.
