This package is a build dependency for the next version of Darcs (by

Thus, this needs to be in Debian before Darcs 2.3 can enter Debian.
If nobody else wants to take this one, I will.

Description : Fbi IMproved - a scriptable image viewer for the Linux
framebuffer, ascii art library, and X

FIM is a highly customizable and scriptable image viewer targeted at the
users who are confortable with software like the Vim text editor or the Mutt
mail user agent (it aims to be a swiss army knife for viewing images).
It is based on the Fbi image viewer (by Gerd Hoffmann), and works primarily in
 the Linux framebuffer console.
It is multidevice : it has X support, too (via the SDL library) and it supports
ascii art output (via the aalib library).
It is capable of regular expressions based (on filename) image viewing,vim-like
autocommands, it offers GNU readline command line autocompletion and history,
completely customizable key bindings, external/internal (if-while based)
scriptability (through return codes, standard input/output, and commands given
at invocation time, initialization file), internal filename-based image search,
 and much more features.

True, upstream haven't released a new version in 6 years.

I am unaware of anyone having taken over maintainership of the library -
it seems it is still in active use today with no changes (to the code
itself, only packaging system is being patched heavily) since back then.

Upstream tarball provides only build routines for generating a static
library (using autotools but not libtool).

Fedora applies a patch to also generate a shared library (by switching
to CMake).

I have done similar - started out with the Fedora patch, minimized it
and, when I understood how it worked I rewrote it completely to a style
that I felt more confident about and which worked better with modern
CMake.

My package is ready and awaiting ftpmaster approval in NEW queue.

Latest source + amd64 packages are here:
http://debian.jones.dk/pkg/sneak-previews/libresample/

Git repository is here:

I knew that it is needed for those Asterisk modules - in fact that is my
main reason for packaging it :-)

Thanks for your hint about patches, however: I was unaware of those.

>A copy of it is included in audacity, but not actually used
>(The system copy of libsamplerate is used instead).

I noticed that Audacity mentions their use if this library on their
website, but I failed to locate it in the source of Audacity 2.0.x.

I simply suspected that they'd gotten rid of it by now and just haven't
yet updated their website.

If you know more details than that, I appreciate info about it.

The version there has not been updated for quite some time. Fedora
includes it as a package (probably because CCRMA did). It is merely a
static library.

Asterisk, which seems to dislike the concept of GPLed libraries, decided
to use it and (as it must use a PIC library for its dynamically-loaded
module) made a few minimal changes in:

  http://svn.asterisk.org/svn/thirdparty/libresample/trunk/

It is needed for building codec_resample and app_jack.

A copy of it is included in audacity, but not actually used
(The system copy of libsamplerate is used instead).

If you are still looking for people to help with this then I would
love to get involved - I have been building debian packages at work
for a few years, but never had enough time to get directly involved
with Debian. I would love to get into a few packages so I could start
the NM process

I just spoke to the upstream maintainer of hashed-storage. He told me
that he was phasing out bytestring-mmap in favour of the more powerful

If upstream makes a new release that doesn't use bytestring-mmap, I
won't change this into an ITP.

Description : Java binding to the GNU Linear Programming Kit

GLPK (GNU Linear Programming Kit) is intended for solving large-scale
linear programming (LP), mixed integer programming (MIP), and other
related problems. It is a set of routines written in ANSI C and
organized in the form of a callable library.

Bug#532167: ITP: records -- Save and index notes in Emacs environment

2009-06-07 Thread Xavier MAILLARD
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
X-Debbugs-CC: debian-de...@lists.debian.org

--- Please fill out the fields below. ---

   Package name: records
Version: 1.5.2
Upstream Author: Xavier Maillard
URL: http://launchpad.net/records
License: GPL
Description: Records-mode is a major mode for editing and indexing
notes. Notes are per-day files containing one or more
subjects, subjects from different days are indexed and
 can be traversed, etc.

This package contains files common to GNU Emacs and
XEmacs. You probably want to install either
 records-gnuemacs or records-xemacs.

The package was already in Debian till 2006 then it got dropped (no
reason given).

1.5.2 is planned for today and will include a debian/ directory with
updated control/changelog/rule files. For the future release, I plan to
keep the debian/ directory up-to-date with debian.

Regards,

Xavier

Package: wnpp
Owner: "Marco Rodrigues "
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: timevault
  Version : 0.7.5
  Upstream Author : A. Bashi
* URL : https://launchpad.net/timevault
* License : GPL-2
  Programming Lang: Python
  Description : GNOME Backup/Snapshot System

TimeVault is a simple front-end for making snapshots of a set of directories.
Snapshots are a copy of a directory structure or file at a certain point in
time. Restore functionality is integrated into Nautilus - previous versions of a
file or directory that has a snapshot can be accessed by examining the
properties and selecting the 'Previous Versions' tab.

Snapshots are protected from accidental deletion or modification since they are
read-only by default. The super-user can delete intermediate snapshots to save
space, but files and directories that existed before or after the deletion will
still be accessible.

Hi!

I'm closing this RFP because the project is almost dead, if not already dead.

I hope better alternatives will come in the future, and not only timevaultng.

Thanks
