SubNetCalc is an IPv4/IPv6 subnet address calculator. For given IPv4 or IPv6
address and netmask or prefix length, it calculates network address,
broadcast address, maximum number of hosts and host address range. Also, it
prints the addresses in binary format for better understandability.
Furthermore, it prints useful information on specific address types (e.g.
type, scope, interface ID, etc.). SubNetCalc can also generate IPv6 Unique
Local addresses using random input from /dev/random or /dev/urandom.

2009-07-29 Thread Johan Euphrosine
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: wetball
  Version : 0.1
  Upstream Author : Johan Euphrosine
* URL or Web page : http://wetball.mekensleep.com/
* License : AGPL-3
Description : multiplayer game to collect objects on a map

wetball is an online multiplayer game in which the player walks a map
and collects objects. The server handles the placement of objects on
the map. The client asks the server for the objects found around a
designated location. When an object is returned to the client, it can
be collected and is removed from the map. A simple REST interface to
the server has been designed and documented to encourage the
development of alternative clients.

Although geolocalisation is a popular subject and number of application
are deployed on the web, there is no multiplayer geolocalisation game in
debian. This application could be used as a technical example.

Bug#516255: Bug #516255 ITA: azureus -- BitTorrent Client

2009-07-29 Thread Adrian Perez
Adnan, of course I use some help, since there's a lot of work to do.
This is also true for everyone who wishes to help.
If you're still interested in contributing to azureus, there is a junk
packaging branch here:

bzr branch lp:~adrianperez-deb/+junk/azureus

And there's a TODO list attached.

I wish to say the packaging has significantly evolved since 3.1
branches, it's a good one, and a lot of work. What I'm actually
interested the most in it's the bug part, since there are almost 40 of
them, most of them irrelevant now or fixed in previous versions.

That said.
Hope you to join.

com/aelitis/azureus/plugins/magnet/Magnet.gif
com/aelitis/azureus/ui/images
com/aelitis/azureus/ui/skin/*.properties

org/gudy/azureus2/ui/swt/about.properties

Check where to put the missing files I've copied from azureus-3.1.1.0.

Test

Check debian/watch is working.
Check that default-jdk (instead of openjdk-6-jdk) can build the package in Debian.
Check the policy bump from 3.8.0.1 to 3.8.2.
Build and test to reflect/fix the bugs against upstream Changelog.
Test all the patches in debian/patches.

Update

Update patch descriptions, specially the multiuser one. Check DEP-3.
Probably improve the multiuser patch, since upstream's not happy with it.
Check CopyrightProposal updates.
Check vuze/azureus command line options to improve manual pages.

Build

Delimit components that shouldn't be updated, and build patch to disable them.
Packaged libraries.

Package?

Finish rewrite of debian/rules.
Build-Depend/Package the following libraries (Check JavaContents first):
edu.harvard.syrah.nc

org.bouncycastle. (Probably libbcprov-java)
asn1
crypto

sorry, but I've to admit that the same counts for me. I can spend work from
time to time, but not taking the whole maintainance over.

Ciao, Jan.

I’ve filed http://pecl.php.net/bugs/bug.php?id=16760 after some
eMail discussion with Dmitry Stogov (author of the extension and
PHP developer), Rasmus Lerdorf and Andi Gutmans.

The package is thus still pending upstream relicencing.

while I was (and I am still) interested in maintaing these packages, I
could not find enough time in order to really work on it.

I am afraid I am not the only one since, if I remember correctly, Peter
clearly stated that he received many offers for working on the package,
but no one was really helping. So he decided to open the maintenance in
order to see if anyone would really work on it.

Now the package has been orphaned, so, if you have time to spend on this
package, please adopt it.

Bye,
Giuseppe

Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

The current maintainer of liblwp-protocol-http-socketunix-perl, Florian Ragwitz
,
is apparently not active anymore. Therefore, I orphan this package now.

Maintaining a package requires time and skills. Please only adopt this
package if you will have enough time and attention to work on it.

If you want to be the new maintainer, please see
http://www.debian.org/devel/wnpp/index.html#howto-o for detailed
instructions how to adopt a package properly.

Please note that this package is already in the Perl group SVN repository, so if
you want to maintain it, get in touch with that team.

Those two are maintained by Debian Krap Maintainers because they used to be
needed by KDE. Sure, it is the same team as Debian Qt/KDE, but most of those
packages are free (and welcome) to be taken care of by other people who
know/care more about the software in question. So you are very welcome to
package telepathy-qt4 and later file bugs reports against old packages if you
want us to ask for their removal.

I've suggested that I adopt this, however, the current maintainer seems to want
to stay as maintainer, and just do everything through "accessible by anyone"
svn. I'm not too sure exactly what he wants to do with this.

That's great, I suggest that you get yourself acquainted with the
package a bit and maybe start off by creating patches (debdiffs or
Git commits) for some of the bugs?

Does that sound good?

Yes, I have thought about it. Actually I subscribed to the debian-python
mailing list yesterday. However, since I am already a member of the
pkg-scicomp group I thought that the package might as well go there but
maybe it fits better under the DPMT.

Bug#471801: egroupware adoption or removal?

2009-07-29 Thread Thomas Viehmann

Hi everyone (formerly) interested in egroupware,

egroupware seems to be in need for attention

  #526878
 [egroupware-wiki] egroupware-core sets open_basedir which
 disables hook_config_validate.inc.php (egroupware-wiki) sanity
 check
  Date: Mon, 4 May 2009 08:15:01 UTC

  #504283
 CVE-2007-3215: phpmailer issue (embedded code-copy)
  Date: Sun, 2 Nov 2008 12:33:01 UTC

It would seem that egroupware should either be adopted and fixed for
squeeze or removed. Shipping it as an orphaned package sounds like a bad
idea.

Kind regards

T.

Yes, the package is already named python-scitools. I guess I just thought
that the 'Package name' field should contain the name of the source
package and not the name of the binary package.

Yes, of course. SciTools does not include any of these packages, its only
dependencies.

Yes, it is already named python-swiginac.
