  Description :

 Maven is a software project management and comprehension tool. Based on the
 concept of a project object model (POM), Maven can manage a project's
build,
 reporting and documentation from a central piece of information.
 .
 Maven's primary goal is to allow a developer to comprehend the complete
 state of a development effort in the shortest period of time. In order to
 attain this goal there are several areas of concern that Maven attempts
 to deal with:
 .
* Making the build process easy
* Providing a uniform build system
* Providing quality project information
* Providing guidelines for best practices development
* Allowing transparent migration to new features
 .
 This package ships a shared library containing a collection of ready-made
 filters to control inclusion/exclusion of artifacts during dependency
 resolution.

* Package name: maven-dependency-analyzer
  Version : 1.1
  Upstream Author : Maven Apache team
* URL : http://maven.apache.org
* License : Apache 2
  Programming Lang: Java
  Description :

 Maven is a software project management and comprehension tool. Based on the
 concept of a project object model (POM), Maven can manage a project's
build,
 reporting and documentation from a central piece of information.
 .
 Maven's primary goal is to allow a developer to comprehend the complete
 state of a development effort in the shortest period of time. In order to
 attain this goal there are several areas of concern that Maven attempts
 to deal with:
 .
* Making the build process easy
* Providing a uniform build system
* Providing quality project information
* Providing guidelines for best practices development
* Allowing transparent migration to new features
 .
 This package ships a shared library for analysing dependencies.

  Description : Perl extension for the automatic generation of LaTeX tables

 LaTeX::Table is a Perl extension for the automatic generation of LaTeX. tables
 .
 LaTeX makes professional typesetting easy. Unfortunately, this is not
 entirely true for tables and the standard LaTeX table macros have a rather
 limited functionality. LaTeX::Table supports many CTAN packages and hides the
 complexity of using them behind an easy and intuitive API.
 .
 Features:
 .
 This module supports multipage tables via the xtab or the longtable package.
 For publication quality tables, it uses the booktabs package. It also supports
 the tabularx and tabulary packages for nicer fixed-width tables. Furthermore,
it
 supports the colortbl package for colored tables optimized for presentations.
 The powerful new ctable package is supported and especially recommended when
 footnotes are needed. LaTeX::Table ships with some predefined, good looking
 "THEMES".

  Description :

 The Plexus project provides a full software stack for creating and
executing
 software projects. Based on the Plexus container, the applications can
 utilise component-oriented programming to build modular, reusable
components
 that can easily be assembled and reused.
 .
 While Plexus is similar to other inversion-of-control (IoC) or dependency
 injection frameworks such as the Spring Framework, it is a full-fledged
 container that supports many more features such as:
 .
 * Component lifecycles
 * Component instantiation strategies
 * Nested component-metadata
 * Component configuration
 * Auto-wiring
 * Component dependencies, and
 * Various dependency injection techniques including constructor
injection,
   setter injection, and private field injection.
 .
 This package provides the Maven plugin generating the component metadata.

Heh. :)

ACK. ;)

BTW the package was lintian clean here even before I fixed the copyright

As far as I can tell the license issue is resolved in 3.2.11. It's all
PHP License 3.01 now.

The Ubuntu NGO team started working on packaging CiviCRM and completed
the packaging of php-html-quickform.
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/NGO/ApplicationPackaging has more information
about the effort.

Source package available at https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-ngo/+archive/ppa

I'm CCing the Debian PHP Maintainers and hope they are interested in the
package too.

Have a great day - I hope it is useful to you and can be included in
Debian as well.

Bug#541310: Long description

2009-08-13 Thread Sebastien Delafond
A better long description would be:

  Minbif is an IRC gateway to IM networks which provides the following features:
  * Minbif uses a library which abstracts all IM calls, and has several
plugins to support a lot of IM protocols (IRC included!).
  * Only IRC commands are used to command Minbif.
  * Certificates check.
  * Buddies are IRC users.
  * Each account has a status channel. You see in all connected buddies,
and their status on it.
  * Add and remove buddies from list with /INVITE and /KICK commands.
  * Blocked users are bans on the account's status channel.
  * You can see buddies' icons (with libcaca) or download them.
  * Conversation chats are supported.
  * Auto-rejoin conversation channels at connection.

Cheers,

Yes. Possibly I tricked myself. Latest git-buildpackage possibly was still
with the older lintian. And then I possibly ran the newest linitian on the
dsc file without rebuilding the package before. But I thought I ran a git-
buildpackage after updating lintian... well I can try to reproduce this
and do a bug report regarding lintian if desired.

Hello,

I find interesting your program.

I'm one of the maintainers of apt-zip, which do similar tasks, but:
- it is not really developed since some years,
- it lack the support of an high level language (it is written in shell),
  thus it is difficult to do real (complex) works
- we (maintainers) lack interest to continuing developing apt-zip

BTW I also written a much shorter "apt-remote" in python, but it
is not complete and I have no intention to continue developing it.

So, I can help you sponsoring and mentoring you to upload apt-offline
in Debian. I think also that we could remove apt-zip (I think we will
provide a wrapper between the old apt-zip interface and the new tools).

Description: the GNU data recovery tool
 it copies data from one file or block device (hard disc, cdrom, etc)
 to another, trying hard to rescue data in case of read errors.
 .
 gddrescue does not truncate the output file if not asked to.
 So, every time you run it on the same output file,
 it tries to fill in the gaps.
 .
 The basic operation of ddrescue is fully automatic.
 That is, you don't have to wait for an error, stop the program,
 read the log, run it in reverse mode, etc.
 If you use the logfile feature of ddrescue, the data is rescued
 very efficiently (only the needed blocks are read).
 Also you can interrupt the rescue at any time and resume it later
 at the same point.
 .
 Automatic merging of backups: If you have two or more damaged
 copies of a file, cdrom, etc, and run ddrescue on all of them,
 one at a time, with the same output file, you will probably obtain
 a complete and error-free file. This is so because the probability
 of having damaged areas at the same places on different input files
 is very low. Using the logfile, only the needed blocks are read from
 the second and successive copies.
 .
 The logfile is periodically saved to disc. So in case of a crash you
 can resume the rescue with little recopying. Also, the same logfile
 can be used for multiple commands that copy different areas of the
 file, and for multiple recovery attempts over different subsets.
 .
 gddrescue aligns its I/O buffer to the sector size so that it can be
 used to read from raw devices. For efficiency reasons, also aligns it
 to the memory page size if page size is a multiple of sector size.

Azureus is a BitTorrent client. The upstream package has been renamed
to Vuze and now has a focus on distributing and playing multimedia
content.

Azureus is implemented in Java and uses SWT, the cross-platform widget
toolkit for Java used primarily by the Eclipse IDE.

Eclipse packages the SWT libraries (see the source package eclipse and
the binary package libswt3.2-gtk-java), but these tend to be too out
of date to compile Azureus. For this reason, I maintain a separate
copy of SWT for GTK (see the source package swt-gtk and the binary
package libswt-gtk-3.4-java). The adopter of Azureus would need to
also adopt SWT.

Cheers,
Shaun

At this location, I've currently put it up for review for the interface.
I'd be glad if you could review and provide feedback on the current interface.

My plan is that if we have consensus on the interface, we can go with the
initial release. I've tried keeping the interface similar to apt-get/aptitude.

So please, if you can review the interface (and assuming you have it
complete), I'll start working on the docs and packaging.

My goal is to have it part of the Squeeze release and for that I need your
help.

PS: ./apt-offline -h should be good enough to explain all the features.

Regards,
Ritesh

Bug#541351: RFP: xfoil -- Interactive program for the design and analysis of subsonic airfoils

2009-08-13 Thread Mauro Darida
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: xfoil
  Version : 6.97
  Upstream Author : Mark Drela and Harold Youngren
* URL : http://web.mit.edu/drela/Public/web/xfoil
* License : GPL
  Programming Lang: Fortran
  Description : Interactive program for the design and analysis of subsonic
airfoils

(Include the long description here.)
It consists of a collection of menu-driven routines which perform
various useful functions such as:
Viscous (or inviscid) analysis of an existing airfoil, allowing
forced or free transition
transitional separation bubbles
limited trailing edge separation
lift and drag predictions just beyond CLmax
Karman-Tsien compressibility correction
fixed or varying Reynolds and/or Mach numbers
Airfoil design and redesign by interactive modification of surface speed
distributions, in two methods:
Full-Inverse method, based on a complex-mapping formulation
Mixed-Inverse method, an extension of XFOIL's basic panel method
Airfoil redesign by interactive modification of geometric parameters
such as
max thickness and camber, highpoint position
LE radius, TE thickness
camber line via geometry specification
camber line via loading change specification
flap deflection
explicit contour geometry (via screen cursor)
Blending of airfoils
Writing and reading of airfoil coordinates and polar save files
Plotting of geometry, pressure distributions, and multiple polars

NOTE: The program consists of 3 source codes: xfoil, pplot and px_plot.
I have successfully compiled xfoil and pplot with the Fortran GNU
compiler; it gives an error with px_plot and I was unable to contact the
upstream author (I am no expert, maybe it needs a simple fix). I am
aware of a very old debian unofficial package of this software, no
longer maintained. It would be nice to see it in debian.

Bug#522638: ITP: docsis -- Encode/Decode DOCSIS configuration files

2009-08-13 Thread Francisco José Bernal Fernández
Hello.

I think thereis a problem when in md5.c is defined:

/* UINT4 defines a four byte word */
typedef unsigned long int UINT4;

In x86 long int have 32 bits but in amdn64 long int is 64 bits length.

This code can solve many of the problems in types, but there is a lot of
them assuming x86 compiling.

#ifdef __x86_64__
typedef unsigned int UINT4;
#else
typedef unsigned long int UINT4;
#endif

Just to let you know, apart from a minor doc fix, there haven't been
any changes
since 0.07 that should really affect anything on a Debian GNU/Linux system,
the changes were mostly about compatibility to other platforms.

* Providing quality project information
* Providing guidelines for best practices development
* Allowing transparent migration to new features
 .
 This packages provides a component to programmatically invoke Maven.

* Package name: maven-plugin-testing
  Version : 1.2
  Upstream Author : Maven Apache team
* URL : http://maven.apache.org
* License : Apache 2

* Providing quality project information
* Providing guidelines for best practices development
* Allowing transparent migration to new features
 .
 This package ships the necessary modules to be able to test Maven Plugins.
