I dont work on public sponsoring requests. And you don't directly linked
the *.dsc file. This makes reviewing unneccesarily hard for me.

Experiences from the past brought me to these rules. Sorry for that.

Bug#521893: realtime kernel for Debian

Hi,

I was wondering about how far are we with implementing a RT kernel in
Debian... Some progress here? Would be nice.

The patch I created that "fits" on Debian's vanilla kernel creates
conflicts on the sources with the Debian patches.
I hope to be able to clean that up by minimizing the -rt series (e.g.
the first broken out patch consists usually of various bits from the
-tip tree that are (AFAIK) not all needed.)

So just have some more patience.

How are things going? Just interest...

Hhhm, well, I spottet a problem. The thing is that linux-rt does many
deep changes in the kernel and I won't be able to support the harder
problems. And upstream probably won't help because the Debian rt-kernel
isn't a vanilla rt-kernel. Moreover even the broken out rt-patch isn't
nicely sorted (e.g. bisectable, some patches undo changes of other
patches earier in the series etc. pp), so I fear the Debian kernel team
isn't filled with enthusiasm when asked to add an rt variant.

I already thought about packaging debian-kernel + rt for Debian and
vanilla-kernel + rt for a non-Debian package repository such that it's
easy for bug reporters to try out a vanilla kernel. But that still needs
more work.

OK, the vanilla-kernel + rt is done. See

Mmh I added the sid repo, but can't find the RT kernel. What is going

Did you add the non-free component, too? I choosed to put the kernels
there, because all the non-free firmware wasn't removed as with the
Debian kernel.

So you need

deb http://debian.pengutronix.de/debian/ sid main contrib non-free

Are you aware that BCP is in maintenance only mode? Lazlo Ladanyi, the
actual upstream author, told me that he will look at bug reports, but
there won't be any new feature releases.

I'm not sure that means it should not be packaged for Debian, but I
thought you should know.

Soeren,

I just started working on packaging this last night and will have my
package ready today. Did you already have a completed package? Would
you be willing to turn over or share maintenance of this package?

Hi Erik,

Has there been any progress on taking over libsndfile and fixing the issues
detected by the test suite failures?

libsndfile is starting to block the migration of some packages which in turn
block even more.

Cheers,

Bug#511036: ttf-droid

2009-10-03 Thread simon

Hi,

sincere apologies to you Faidon and everyone else waiting for that
package for already too long.

I could need some guidance getting the package into Debian, but I'm
willing to work on it and join the font packaging team.

Additionally I decided to get any font from here
http://webfonts.info/wiki/index.php?title=Fonts_available_for_%40font-face_embedding whose license allows it, into
Debian/Ubuntu.

I think every free high-quality font should be installable from the
package manager.

Thanks, Simon

PS: I reorganised my email accounts and Launchpad IDs, from now on
only si...@ochsenreither.de and
https://launchpad.net/~simon-ochsenreither are the right ones ... The
merging of the different account was a big mess, I hope I get
everything working again soon :-)

Yeah, seems like the two porter box machines are unavailable.
Do you have a program or something you want to build/run?
It might be easier to find somebody willing to try to build or run a program
on their own machines than giving you access.

ORLite::Statistics provides easy integration with the Statistics::Basic set
of modules (see libstatistics-basic-perl). It enables some basic statistical
analysis by generating a vector for a particular method, which can then be
used for any number of things, like determining the median, mean, standard
deviation and other basic descriptive statistics.

Hi Raphael,

My main problem here is getting access to a MIPS machine for testing.

I have a friend who is a DD (Simon Horman) who tried to get access to
a MIPS porter machine but none of them seemed to be working when he
tried.

it would be great if you would be willing to co-maintain it with Aramian
and myself. We have been doing many of the coinor-* packages and I would
love to see you join the team.

What is not? At least
http://www.coin-or.org/projects/Bcp.xml states exactly this.

That is perfectly fine for me. Scientific software often is like this.
When an algorithm works it is final :)

As long as bugreports are dealt with it is fine for me.

I need to debug this one from the ground up. Need bzr and svn
clients, build tools and build-deps for libsndfile/libvorbis
and libogg.

I have asked on the debian-mips mailing list. Got one offer that
was withdrawn before I could take them up on it (I was very busy
at that exact time).
