Bug#562130: O: gnuserv -- Allows you to attach to an already running Emacs
Package: wnpp Severity: normal I intend to orphan the gnuserv package. It's been a long time since I've used this software, and I've not been properly looking after it. The package description is: gnuserv allows you to attach to an already running Emacs. This allows external programs to make use of Emacs' editing capabilities. It is like GNU Emacs' emacsserver/server.el, but has many more features. . You do not need this package if you use XEmacs; it already includes gnuserv and gnuclient. If you want to use gnuserv with both GNU Emacs and XEmacs, you will only be able to use the alternative /usr/bin/gnuclient with one flavor of emacs; you will have to use either gnuclient.xemacs or gnuclient.emacs for the other flavor. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-wnpp-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Bug#562131: O: halevt -- Generic handler for HAL events
Package: wnpp Severity: normal I intend to orphan the halevt package. I regret that I havne't been properly looking after this package, and it deserves a better maintainer. The package description is: halevt is a daemon that acts as a policy agent on top of HAL. It listens to HAL events and reacts with user-configurable actions. It is a reimplementation of ivman project. . Among other things, halevt is useful as an automount daemon that will mount removable devices but with a much smaller set of dependencies than tools such as gnome-volume-manager. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-wnpp-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Bug#562128: RFA: pearpc - PowerPC architecture emulator
Package: wnpp Severity: normal Hi, I haven't used this in years and it never really got to a very usable state. It's apparently dead upstream and the code-rot is probably severe. I plan to keep it on life-support, just to make the QA team's life a bit easier, but just the bare minimum. If it doesn't get taken up in a few months, I'll probably recommend its removal from the archive, considering its low popcons score. The program is a tree-based note pad, designed to help you plan a book or complex project. Kabikaboo is unique in that there are almost no open source programs aimed at the novelist or book-writer. Latex, mind-mapping, and word processors are useful but have a significantly different purpose. I have worked with Dave extensively on Kabikaboo 1.7. Now that 1.7 is released (today) I plan to do the work necessary to get in the Debian repository. Bug#562102: ITP: libdist-zilla-perl -- Perl distribution builder
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Owner: gregor herrmann * Package name: libdist-zilla-perl Version : 1.093400 Upstream Author : Ricardo SIGNES * URL : http://search.cpan.org/dist/Dist-Zilla/ * License : Artistic or GPL-1+ Programming Lang: Perl Description : distribution builder; installer not included! Dist::Zilla builds distributions of code to be uploaded to the CPAN. In this respect, it is like ExtUtils::MakeMaker, Module::Build, or Module::Install. Unlike those tools, however, it is not also a system for installing code that has been downloaded from the CPAN. Since it's only run by authors, and is meant to be run on a repository checkout rather than on published, released code, it can do much more than those tools, and is free to make much more ludicrous demands in terms of prerequisites. ~ Dist::Zilla also needs the following modules: * Package name: libstring-flogger-perl Version : 1.001 Upstream Author : Ricardo SIGNES * URL : http://search.cpan.org/dist/String-Flogger/ * License : Artistic or GPL-1+ Programming Lang: Perl Description : string munging for loggers string munging for loggers * Package name: libmixin-extrafields-perl Version : 0.007 Upstream Author : Ricardo SIGNES * URL : http://search.cpan.org/dist/Mixin-ExtraFields/ * License : Artistic or GPL-1+ Programming Lang: Perl Description : add extra stashes of data to your objects Sometimes your well-defined object needs a way to tack on arbirary extra fields. This might be a set of session-specific ephemeral data, a stash of settings that need to be easy to grow over time, or any sort of name-and-value parameters. Adding more and more methods can be cumbersome, and may not be helpful if the names vary greatly. Accessing an object's guts directly is simple, but is difficult to control when subclassing, and can make altering your object's structure difficult. Mixin::ExtraFields provides a simple way to add an arbitrary number of stashes for named data. These data can be stored in the object, in a database, or anywhere else. The storage mechanism is abstracted away from the provided interface, so one storage mechanism can be easily swapped for another. Multiple ExtraFields stashes can be mixed into one class, using one or many storage mechanisms. * Package name: libstring-formatter-perl Version : 0.093221 Upstream Author : Ricardo Signes , Darren Chamberlain * URL : http://search.cpan.org/dist/String-Formatter/ * License : GPL-2 Programming Lang: Perl Description : build sprintf-like functions of your own String::Formatter is a tool for building sprintf-like formatting routines. Normally, String::Formatter will be used to import a sprintf-like routine referred to as "stringf", but which can be given any name you like. Hi, just for the record: I started to package this program but the package is not finished yet: you can find it here: svn://svn.debian.org/svn/pkg-kde/kde-extras/kiconedit/trunk This program at the moment is dead upstream, anyway I tested it and apparently it worked fine, but I recently realized that has some bugs, for instance the copy/paste functionality is broken and has also other small issues. The program seems small, so I'm considering to take over upstream but I'm not sure at all. If I take over upstream I would continue packaging it. So I will leave this ITP open for a while, if I let the program die upstream, I will close it. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-wnpp-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
