Bug#564018: O: purity -- Automated purity testing software

2010-01-06 Thread Duncan Findlay
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

Yikes, my last upload of purity was over 7 years ago. I think there have been
approximately 2 bugs filed in that time. Unfortunately the packaging is really
out of date, and it needs some serious work.

I intend to resign from the project, so I am orphaning this package.

Dear Maintainer,

While reviewing some packages, your package came up as a package that
should maybe be orphaned by its maintainer, because:

* Out of date with upstream.
* Possibly inactive maintainer, last upload 2004. (Non-DD, not in MIA).
* Several un-addressed bugs.
* Moderate popcon.

If you think that it should be removed from Debian instead of being
orphaned, please reply to this bug and tell so.

If you disagree and want to continue to maintain this package, please
close this bug and do an upload also fixing the other issues.
Also, you can study the possibility of taking co-maintainers.

If you agree that it should be orphaned, send the following commands
to cont...@bugs.debian.org (replace nn with this bug's number):

reassign nn wnpp
retitle nn O: --

If you think it should be removed, send the following commands instead:

Dear FTP team,

I would like to know your conclusion on *Rdata files. They are example data
files for the documentation and the regression tests. Many r-cran-* packages
contain them. My personal opinion is that since they can be read, written,
modified, and exported with R, they are a ‘preferential form’ for modification.

I am currently holding my work on the r-cran-* packages I co-maintain until I
get your answer.

Have a nice day,

Hi,

as upstream is considering some changes in the upgrade path that will
make upgrading with pure sql files quiet hard and they never really
supported upgrading through pure sql files (and therefore dbconfig-common)
I could need someone to help with maintaining mantis.

mantis is not producing a big workload. Maintaining it is mostly about
some polishing, integrating translations, fixing some security issues
(somtimes by integrating patches and sometimes by backporting changes in the
devel tree to the latest Debian stable release). New upstream releases that
introduce upgrade problems are seldom.

So what I'm searching for:
1 or 2 people that are experienced in PHP and SQL, have a good technical
understanding and are creative in finding solutions to problems such as the
upgrade problem. Its not neccessary for them to be DDs, as I work with perfectly
reliable sponsors.

If you match the profile: Would be glad to hear from you.

Best Regards,
Patrick

Bug#512396: Virtuoso packaging build-depending on sesame

Hi,

what is the use case for Sesame in Virtuoso? IIUC Virtuoso was going to

From what I understand, it's a connector between Virtuoso and Sesame. It has
nothing to do with Nepomuk.

In other words, does it make sense to put effort into packaging Sesame
as a Nepomuk backend?

As far as I understand, the current effort is behind packaging Virtuoso as a
Nepomuk backend to replace Redland, so indeed, working on Sesame as Nepomuk
backend is not important.

Remember that Redland, Sesame and Virtuoso have use cases outside of Nepomuk :)
That's what I was thinking about when talking about Virtuoso's optional
dependency on Sesame.

Cheers

MIcroscopic Window Manager (MIWM) is a fast, small, minimalist, and
extremely reliable window manager. It is designed to do the job very
simply and unobtrusively, without constraining power users. It
features optional auto-tiling, desktop cleanup, a user-defined root
menu, optional previewing of hidden windows, variable numbers of
virtual desktops, and configurable window behavior. It includes a
simple, very effective memory management utility for leak detection.

Using the compfonts script (available in my folder on our team
repository, a lot quicker than with gucharmap) I can see that:
Ө U+04E8 CYRILLIC CAPITAL LETTER BARRED O
ө U+04E9 CYRILLIC SMALL LETTER BARRED O
Ү U+04AE CYRILLIC CAPITAL LETTER STRAIGHT U
ү U+04AF CYRILLIC SMALL LETTER STRAIGHT U
are available in ttf-sil-charis, ttf-sil-doulos, ttf-dejavu, some fonts
in gsfonts (and maybe other packages, I didn't check the whole archive
as the script runs the comparison on installed fonts only and I didn't
take time to install every font).

Looks like we already have what is needed but could you also test on
your side and confirm that these open fonts provide appropriate support?

The branch layout is (attempted to be) described in
debian/README.source

I suppose at minimum debian/copyright needs some love.
