Bug#550817: gitolite changes to make it easier for distro packagers
Hi Rhonda, Martin (and any others), Could you please take a look at the new dps branch of gitolite on github when you get a chance? The latest commit is http://github.com/sitaramc/gitolite/commit/1ecdd4618e58c03dd7aea39bab34f3244d0135f7 and it's basically my attempt to make it easier for packaging. In particular, doc/0 now has an appendix for package maintainers, which can also quickly be seen at http://github.com/sitaramc/gitolite/commit/1ecdd4618e58c03dd7aea39bab34f3244d0135f7#L0R224 I hope you like this, and if there's anything else I can do please let me know. dps is currently built off of pu and it will be merged into pu, then eventually master. I'd appreciate any testing or comments from you. -- Sitaram -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-wnpp-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Bug#447584: GeoGebra in Debian
Hi! The GeoGebra devs asked me to remove all copies of GeoGebra from GetDeb.net and to close my attempts to package it for Ubuntu, cause they don't want any GeoGebra package maintained by someone who is not a GG developer. The GPL grants the right to ditribute GeoGebra and to repackage and mainain it on Debian/Ubuntu, but I think upsteam will have a reason for this decision. If you package GeoGebra for Debian, you should consider asking upsteam first. Good luck! (I would love to see GG in Debian/Ubuntu's repositories) Upstream told me they will provide an own repository with GeoGebra deb packages and drop the current installer - but this was some months ago and I still see nothing like this. Bug#548322: Bug#535260: severity of 535260 is serious
On Wed, 10 Feb 2010 22:41:44 +0100, Luk Claes wrote: there's a newer package in the Debian Perl Group's svn repository already. It hasn't been uploaded yet because noone has an oracle server to test it against. IIRC you offered to test this package; it'd be great if this offer is still standing :) Like I said in the orphan bug, I had to make some changes which I don't think are appropriate to make for Debian to get it working and is against upstream's advice. Oh, I forgot or missed that piece of information (and can't see it in #548322 at the moment either). Personally I would go for removal of the package. Fine with me, let's wait a bit if someone speaks and and ask for removal otherwise. Thomas The package description is: Socat (for SOcket CAT) establishes two bidirectional byte streams and transfers data between them. Data channels may be files, pipes, devices (terminal or modem, etc.), or sockets (Unix, IPv4, IPv6, raw, UDP, TCP, SSL). It provides forking, logging and tracing, different modes for interprocess communication and many more options. . It can be used, for example, as a TCP relay (one-shot or daemon), as an external socksifier, as a shell interface to Unix sockets, as an IPv6 relay, as a netcat and rinetd replacement, to redirect TCP-oriented programs to a serial line, or to establish a relatively secure environment (su and chroot) for running client or server shell scripts inside network connections. ---End Message--- ---BeginMessage--- Source: socat Source-Version: 1.7.1.2-1 We believe that the bug you reported is fixed in the latest version of socat, which is due to be installed in the Debian FTP archive: socat_1.7.1.2-1.debian.tar.gz to main/s/socat/socat_1.7.1.2-1.debian.tar.gz socat_1.7.1.2-1.dsc to main/s/socat/socat_1.7.1.2-1.dsc socat_1.7.1.2-1_i386.deb to main/s/socat/socat_1.7.1.2-1_i386.deb socat_1.7.1.2.orig.tar.gz to main/s/socat/socat_1.7.1.2.orig.tar.gz A summary of the changes between this version and the previous one is attached.
