Bug#574800: RFP: libnss-myhostname -- nss module to resolve the system hostname

2010-03-21 Thread Josh Triplett
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: libnss-myhostname
  Version : 0.2
Upstream Author : Lennart Poettering mzzlubfga...@0pointer.de
* URL : http://0pointer.de/lennart/projects/nss-myhostname/
* License : LGPLv2.1
  Programming Lang: C
Description : nss module that resolves the system hostname instead of
/etc/hosts

nss-myhostname is a plugin for the GNU Name Service Switch (NSS) functionality
of the GNU C Library (glibc) providing host name resolution for the locally
configured system hostname as returned by gethostname(2). A lot of software
relies on resolving the local host name via DNS to an IPv4 or IPv6 address.
Most systems resolve the system hostname via /etc/hosts, which either
duplicates /etc/hostname or requires dynamically editing /etc/hosts.
nss-myhostname automatically resolves the current system hostname to the IPv4
address 127.0.0.2 (which is on the local loopback) and the IPv6 address ::1.

Bug#572372: O: wdm -- WINGs Display Manager - an xdm replacement with a WindowMaker look

2010-03-21 Thread Petter Reinholdtsen
[Agustin Martin]
Since nobody has yet intended to adopt the package, let me know if you think
is OK to upload my changes along with changing maintainership to the QA team.

I believe this is a good idea. Next step might be to remove it from
Debian alltogether. We do not really need all the display managers
currently in the archive. :)

I do not use wdm, but am interested in seeing the new Xreset.d feature
in Squeeze for all display managers. :)

Happy hacking,

Description : Utilities for accessing and minpulating fields of records

With this library you can define record field accessors which allow
setting, getting and modifying values easily. You can combine accessors
of a record and sub-records to make the access look like the fields
of the sub-record belong to the main record.

This is a building dependency for Haskore, a Haskell DSL and combinator
library for music manipulation and generation.

This library provides various small helper functions for Lists, Maybes,
Tuples and Functions. Some of these functions are improved implementations
of standard functions. They have the same name as their standard
counterparts.

This is a building dependency for Haskore, a Haskell DSL and combinator
library for music manipulation and generation.

CelestLab gathers in ten modules about 200 functions that allow mission
designers to perform various tasks such as: orbit propagation, attitude
computation, elementary manoeuvre computation, change of reference frames,
change of coordinates, three body orbit analysis. CelestLab has been validated
against the CNES flight dynamics reference software. Selected examples from
mission analysis typical studies are provided in the CelestLab help pages.

Cool.
Please file a bug against octave-vrml, once freewrl is again available.

I'd love to be of assistance here.

Just a note: the link to VCS (browse/wsvn) in PTS is invalid.

I'll start to familiarize myself with the packaging of the app.

Bug#515307: ITP: gvpe

2010-03-21 Thread Jonathan Wiltshire
Since gvpe really needs a maintainer who uses it regularly, and my
organisation is moving away from (so I shan't be doing) I'm not really in a
position to give it enough care.

I still think gvpe would be a useful package to have in Debian, since it
builds a fully meshed network instead of a traditional centralised VPN. I
will keep my work handy if another developer would like to pick it up
(there are some license problems to solve, amongst other things).

Description: dockable clock applet for various window managers
Lal is a clock for the dock. Nothing more, nothing less. It is a very
simple tool especially helpful for those that are using openbox. It
can use various colors, sizes, formats, etc. It can accept any POSIX
 date format.

Note: Version 1.1 is currently sitting in the upload queue. I am hoping
to finish version 2.0 within a few months that will come with many new
features such as a calendar. One goal of the new version will be to check
through the code to see if this tiny file can be stripped down at all to
make it even more light weight.
I'm working with the upstream authors to bring this release which is why
I refer to anticipated features for this version.
