Bug#577087: ITP: spim -- MIPS R2000/R3000 emulator

2010-04-19 Thread Jonathan Michalon
Hi,

I'm also interested by SPIM reintegrating Debian, since I had to use it in my
studying and was surprised to find it in Ubuntu and not Debian.
I even thought I could start contributing to Debian by adopting this package,
but I see all the work has already been done, great!
May I help one way or another? Like testing something?

Best regards,

Gitolite is a rewrite of gitosis, with a completely different config

Description : A basic tool-kit for sparse matrix computations

SPARSKIT a basic tool-kit for sparse matrix computations. Sparskit is a
general purpose FORTRAN-77 library for sparse matrix computations. It
has been gathered over several years and includes some of the most useful
tools for developing and implementing sparse matrix techniques,
particularly for iterative solvers. If you need a simple routine for
doing a sparse matrix operation (e.g., adding two sparse matrices, or
reordering a sparse matrix) it is likely to be available in SPARSKIT.
SPARSKIT also contains most of the iterative accelarators and a number
of efficient preconditioners.

Description : complete DNSSEC zone signing system

OpenDNSSEC takes in unsigned zones, adds the signatures and other records
for DNSSEC and passes it on to the authoritative name servers for that
 zone.
 .
DNS is complicated, and so is digital signing; their combination in DNSSEC
is of course complex as well. The idea of OpenDNSSEC is to handle such
difficulties, to relieve the administrator of them after a one-time effort
 for setting it up.
 .
The storage of keys is done through a PKCS #11 standard interface. To
deploy OpenDNSSEC, an implementation of this interface is needed, for
example a software library, an HSM or perhaps a simpler token.

thanks!

It seems you did not specify a necessary constraint on the parsec
dependency. Washngo does not build with parsec3, so you should say
parsec (< 3)
in the cabal file.

Greetings,
Joachim

and another problem: Some of the source files are latin-1-encoded.
Programs like haddock or hscolour expect Haskell source files to be
UTF-8 encoded these days.

Would you mind uploading a fixed tarball with the parsec constraint and
utf8 (or ascii) source files?

@DHG: I’ll wait for the new release to do an upload. This also avoids
the problem of having two 2.12 tarballs in the archive.

Thanks,
Joachim

Hi Jurij,

I am still working on ulogd2 though I must admit I did not have much
time.
The current state is that the packages are basically working and ulogd2
seems functional (rather stable here).
However, there are still some problems:
- there is no upgrade path (and there will probably never be upstream)
  from ulogd1.
- I'd like to propose dbconfig as an option, to be able to create the
  database etc. automatically
- Current packaging was copied from another package, and is using cdbs
(which I do not like personally), but this is a minor point unless it
  prevents from maintaining it correctly
- Things upstream are not finished, there are still some pending patches

That said, I could have uploaded something to experimental.

Temporary (old) packages can be found here:
http://www.wzdftpd.net/downloads/ulogd2-deb/
(Version numbering is not correct)

I am just about leaving Paris for vacation, so I won't be able to work
on it this week. I'll try to update the packages after.

Cheers,
Pierre

We already have log4cpp and log4cxx; how many versions of this do we need?

Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

The upstream is not active anymore. It needs to be ported to KDE4 in near
future. There are two good alternatives in debian (gpsk31, linpsk). So i'm
going to orphan kpsk. Feel free to take it over.

King regards,

Sebastian

Bug#564422: Updates

2010-04-19 Thread D Haley
I have done some updating to the package, but it is not in a working state (it
should be a bit closer than it was). Just as I was committing to debian-science
(after i inited a repo), SSH started timing out to alioth. :/ I will try to
upload this tomorrow.

I will, in the coming week, have another crack at this to get it into a clean
and working state.

Bug#578449: ITP: libjbcrypt-java -- Java implementation of OpenBSD's Blowfish hashing

jBCrypt is an implementation of Blowfish block cipher with modifications
designed to raise the cost of off-line password cracking and frustrate fast

The intent is to make a compromise of a password database less likely to
result in an attacker gaining knowledge of the plaintext passwords (e.g. using
John the Ripper).

Bug#578461: RFP: jreality -- visualization and sonification library and viewer

2010-04-19 Thread David Bremner
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: jreality
  Version : 20100419+svn5131
Upstream Author : Peter Brinkmann ,
Charles Gunn ,
Tim Hoffman ,
Ulrich Pinkall ,
Stefan Sechelmann ,
Steffen Weissmann
* URL : http://www3.math.tu-berlin.de/jreality/
* License : BSD
  Programming Lang: Java
Description : visualization and sonification library

jReality is a visualization and sonification library focused on
mathematical and scientific content. jReality has intrinsic support
for not only euclidean geometry but also for hyperbolic and
elliptic/spherical geometry.

jReality provides a wide set of rendering backends, including not only
real-time rendering on a desktop and in immersive virtual reality
environments, but also a variety of exportable file formats, including
RenderMan® for high-quality stills and movies; and PostScript, PDF and
SVG for publications.

jReality supports spatialized audio. Various sound sources (e.g.,
audio files or software synthesizers) can be placed in the 3D
scene. The audio can then be rendered on a wide range of speaker
setups including stereo, 5.1 surround, and arbitrary Ambisonics
rigs.

Notes:

Besides being cool, this will apparently be the official visualization
tool for polymake, which I am packaging (really, I am!).

I request an adopter for the xdaliclock package as I'm not actually
actively using this package anymore.

It's just some straightforward packaging, nothing complicated, and
basically in good shape.
There were some new upstream releases, but none of the changes were
relevant for Debian. Still, they could be packaged ...

The package description is:
The xdaliclock program displays a digital clock; when a digit changes,
it "melts" into its new shape.
 .
It can display in 12 or 24 hour modes, and displays the date when a
mouse button is held down. It has two large fonts built into it, but
it can animate most other fonts that contain all of the digits. It
can also do some funky psychedelic colormap cycling, and can use the
"shape" extension so that the window is shaped like the digits.

Cheers,
Flo

Thanks a lot. I've added patch from you regarding fixing manpage

I've uploaded package. However, we needed to repack. I'll talk to
