PAM script module will allow you to execute scripts during
authorization, password changes and sessions. This is very handy if your
current security application has no pam support but is accessable with
perl or other scripts.

debian directory is already in the source.

Bug#533708: Any .debs ?

2010-05-19 Thread Tim Day
I'm interested in trying libhugetlbfs out myself, and a search for a
Debianized version led here.

I did try
  git-clone http://git.debian.org/?p=collab-maint/libhugetlbfs.git
but it fails with
warning: remote HEAD refers to nonexistent ref, unable to checkout
(although since this is the first time I've ever tried to use git,
likely the fault is at my end) and the nearest git equivalents to svn
export seem to rely on first creating a local repository.

Do you have any .deb or .dsc available for download ? I'm guessing it's
too much to hope for it to turn up in sid anytime soon while the focus
is on squeeze.

Thanks for any help
Tim

Bug#467375: Sakura for Debian

2010-05-19 Thread Norbert Preining
Hi all,

On Mi, 19 Mai 2010, Andrew Lee wrote:
I think Andrew BS probably think I am blocking everyone to upload here.

Actuality I'd like to have this in Debian for a long time and still will
to have it available in Debian.

However my question was does Sakura supports share one processs for
all tabs to reduce memory usage? I'd love to have Sakura package in
Debian if it fits the quality.

I actually *prefer* to have it that way!!! I often get stuck in
all terminals hanging due to some heavy IO on my svn repositories,
and that is due to the linked processes.

So for me this is not a quality criteria (in the negative sense).

So do you (ITP owner) plan to upload a package sooner or later
or should one of us take that over?

Best wishes

On Di, 18 Mai 2010, Andrew SB wrote:

Some comments: what about the slave x-terminal-emulator.1 man page
in the update-alternatives call?
  update-alternatives \
--install /usr/bin/x-terminal-emulator \
  x-terminal-emulator /usr/bin/sakura 40 \
--slave /usr/share/man/man1/x-terminal-emulator.1.gz \
x-terminal-emulator.1.gz /usr/share/man/man1/sakura.1.gz
(in postinst)

and
update-alternatives --remote x-terminal-emulator /usr/bin/sakura
in prerm (guarded by the proper if $1 ...

Then I would add a menu file in debian:
?package(sakura):needs=X11 section=Applications/Terminal Emulators\
  title=Sakura command=/usr/bin/sakura

Other than that it looks fine.

I left the Ubuntu history in the changelog. I'm not sure if that's
 correct. Please let me know.

I am fine with that.

So now the question is if we can take over the ITP.

Best wishes

Description: Glues object frameworks together transparently
This class facilitates building frameworks of several classes that
inter-operate. It was first designed and built for HTML::Mason, in
which the Compiler, Lexer, Interpreter, Resolver, Component, Buffer,
and several other objects must create each other transparently,
passing the appropriate parameters to the right class, possibly
substituting their own subclass for any of these objects.
 .
The main features of Class::Container are:
 .
  * Declaration of parameters used by each member in a class framework
 .
  * Transparent passing of constructor parameters to the class that
needs them
 .
  * Ability to create one (automatic) or many (manual) contained
objects automatically and transparently

Thanks to the Kernel Team the -dbg package are available now. So I am adopting
it. I do have some interest in this package as my work involves a little bit
of profiling and instrumentation.

Lucas, I will add you to uploaders and we can work together on it when you
have free time.
Eugeniy, Thanks for your support.

Ritesh

Provides a simple high-level client library for Apache CouchDB, allowing you to

Apache CouchDB is a distributed document database system with bi-directional
replication. It makes it simple to build collaborative applications that can
be replicated offline by users, with full interactivity (query, add, update,
delete), and later synced up with everyone else's changes when back online.

Description : Share mouse and pointer with other computers

Mango-lassi lets you to share mouse and pointer with other computers using
 Avahi. It has features like:
  * Fully peer-to-peer. All Mango Lassi instances are both client and server
at the same time. Other hosts may enter or leave a running session at any
time.
  * No need to open X11 up for the network
  * You have a 50% chance that for your setup you don't need any configuration
at all. In the case of the other 50% you might need to swap the order of
your screens manually in a simple dialog, because Mango Lassi didn't guess
correctly which screen is left and which screen is right.
  * libnotify integration so that it tells you whenever a desktop joins or
leaves your session.
  * Shows a nice OSD on your screen when your screen's input is currently being
redirected to another screen.
  * Uses all those nifty GNOME APIs, like D-Bus-over-TCP, Avahi, libnotify,
Gtk,..
  * Supports both the X11 clipboard and the selection, supporting all content
types, and not just simple text -- i.e. you can copy and paste image data
between Gimp on your screens.

Bug#546919: New version of python-pycuda packages

I have put new version of PyCUDA (and pytools) pacages:
http://www.bogomips.w.tkb.pl/cuda.html#Debian
http://www.bogomips.w.tkb.pl/cuda/

Now python-pycuda depends on python-pytools.
python-pycuda still does not depend on nVidia CUDA toolkit
 - as soon as there is semi-final version of those packages
I will add dependencies.
Packages are signed with my GPG key.

I tried to create private repository (so one could add
appropriate lines to sources.list and use apt-get to install
pycuda in Debian) but messed something with directories,
so for now there is no repository with pycuda.

Bug#582286: Looks as if the ITP for webm and libvpx are ITPs for the same software

2010-05-19 Thread Axel Beckert
Hi,

for me it looks as if http://bugs.debian.org/582271 and
http://bugs.debian.org/582286 are more or less about packaging the
same software. (I'm though not sure so no merge by me, just a heads
up. :-)

Regards, Axel

Bug#582345: ITP: libhash-fieldhash-perl -- Perl module implementing a lightweight field hash

2010-05-19 Thread Ivan Kohler
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Ivan Kohler ivan-deb...@420.am
Owner: Ivan Kohler ivan-deb...@420.am

* Package name: libhash-fieldhash-perl
  Version : 0.10
Upstream Author : Goro Fuji gfuji(at)cpan.org
* URL : http://search.cpan.org/dist/Hash-FieldHash/
* License : Perl
  Programming Lang: Perl
Description : Perl module implementing a lightweight field hash

Hash::FieldHash provides the field hash mechanism which supports the inside-out
technique.

You may know Hash::Util::FieldHash. It's a very useful module, but too complex
to understand all the functions.

This is an alternative to H::U::F with following features:

Simpler interface
Hash::FieldHash provides a few functions: fieldhash() and fieldhashes().
  That's enough.

Higher performance
Hash::FieldHash is faster than Hash::Util::FieldHash, because its internals
  use simpler structures.

Bug#582346: ITP: libobject-id-perl -- Perl module providing a unique identifier for any or every object

Owner: Ivan Kohler ivan-deb...@420.am

* Package name: libobject-id-perl
  Version : 0.1.0
  Upstream Author : Michael G Schwern schw...@pobox.com
* URL : http://search.cpan.org/dist/Object-ID/
* License : Perl
  Programming Lang: Perl
Description : Perl module providing a unique identifier for any or every
object

This is a unique identifier for any object, regardless of its type, structure
or contents. Its features are:
* Works on ANY object of any type
* Does not modify the object in any way
* Does not change with the object's contents
* Is O(1) to calculate (ie. doesn't matter how big the object is)
* The id is unique for the life of the process
* The id is always a true value
